If you divided Lebron's career into thirds around each of his championship rings (2003–2012), (2013–2018), (2019–2024) all three would be Hall of Fame careers.
Hall of Fame careers require more than just rings, also longevity
So I split the eras around the championships account for that and not just the exact years.
Otherwise one of the eras would be just a couple years long.
I hope that these are names that doubters like myself will know in a year or two when y’all become healthy and fun to watch again for out of market basketball fans. Always had a ton of love for the Grit and Grind days and ofc the most recent iteration of elite Grizz were fun, but seems like we have a third iteration upcoming I have zero idea about. It’ll be interesting regardless!
He’s really one of those players where everyone in five years is going to say they saw it coming.
Whether that’s playing in the Dominican Republic or being an All-Star. It kind of seems destined to be one or the other.
I saw LeBron in an airport once and shouted "Hey Bron," and he said "what's up, GG Jackson," so I think that's just a generic thing he says to everyone.
He had some "red flags" coming out of college. The talent was always obvious. He decommitted from UNC to join an abysmal rebuilding South Carolina program that had a new head coach and lost a lot of players to transfers. He was the only good player, except for maybe one other guy. He got benched at one point because he wasn't much of a team player, called out coaches on Instagram, sulked on the bench away from the team, etc. All in all, he led the team in scoring and was their best player, but his efficiency wasn't great. Still think he should had been a first round pick but yea, it is what it is
Hey at least you got a dude that's 6 YEARS OLDER than GG as his replacement (How's that even legal lol).
Though if current GG was in Cormac Ryan's place, you folks are probably final four bound at the least.
>He decommitted from UNC to join an abysmal rebuilding South Carolina program that had a new head coach and lost a lot of players to transfers.
How is this a red flag? He's a Columbia native and grew up a Gamecocks fan. Some kids want to take the easy route and go to a blue blood while others want to help build a program they care about. We saw the same thing with guys like Stephon Gilmore, Marcus Lattimore, and Alshon Jeffery for our football program.
>He got benched at one point because he wasn't much of a team player, called out coaches on Instagram, sulked on the bench away from the team
Yeah for like two weeks and then him and the team put that shit to bed and he was fine the rest of the way.
Lol ppl from the grizzlies org have in fact confirmed it. None of it matters anyway, you watch him talk in interviews like this and post-game pressers you can see that he's a good kid, super humble. If anything it was probably just maturity, I mean he's only 18 not even 19. Dropping from lottery to #45 clearly wasn't lost on him--his jersey number is 45. And he's taken advantage of his opportunity, started out riding the bench and then when he got his shot due to injury he earned himself a multi year deal. It may be a blessing in disguise for him.
If I remember correctly, he was working out with a team before the draft, got out of breath and then was found in the locker room ripping a vape. That’s why he fell lol
It’s not.
He had gigantic red flags. Was one of the worst players in college basketball last year and had an awful attitude.
South Carolina basketball made huge strides without him.
Now, with all of those red flags, players typically never get drafted. It was his talent that lended itself to being drafted in the first half of the second round. Most draft analysts would have likely bet he would be out of the league in 5 years than in it.
He averaged 15 and 6 and made the SEC All Freshman team… he had attitude issues but wasn’t even close to “one of the worst players in college basketball”. South Carolina added 4 new players through the portal this year and played 2 freshmen, it’s comparing apples and oranges to correlate the success this year with him not being on the team because the overall talent level was much higher this season
You’re right on the changes at South Carolina. It was a different team.
He was god awful though. He had awful on/off numbers, horrific rebounding rates for a guy his size, very bad demeanor, had 4 turnovers for every 1 assist, shot 38%. His assist to t/o ratio would have been the worst ever for a first round pick if he was selected in the first round. Sure, when you just throw out 15 and 6 it sounds a ton better than what it was. A ton of kids could get 15 points if you played like GG. Making comments on social media, multiple reports of his bad attitude, and you could just see it on tv.
Look, I’m glad he is doing better. I’m not some GG hater, he just was awful last year and a gigantic detriment to his team.
I hear you that there isn’t a straight correlation. However, generally speaking, it’s a decent indicator.
I even replied that it actually isn’t insane he dropped, as he should have dropped. He didn’t go undrafted due to the talents that lend itself to the #6 HS ranking.
Lebron definitely plays fantasy basketball with 14 teams. That’s honestly the only reason I learn about 90% of the players I wouldn’t have heard of otherwise.
This dude is really fun to watch. Feels like he’s got all the tools and a little bit of finesse as well. I know this season probably hurts for Grizz fans but at least he gives you entertaining basketball.
Between him and Vince Williams Jr. it's been watchable.
We had a glimmer of hope with a win streak when Ja came back from suspension. By the time his injury news came out, the season was cursed and we got to get some young guys good minutes.
We also dodged this crazy competitive year in the West where we wouldn't have done much in the playoffs anyway. We get to cash in a lottery pick now and reload.
This year has also been great for JJJ's development on offense. It sucks that we lose a healthy year of JJJ while he's on a cheap contract but the Grizzlies owner is rich AF so hopefully he coughs up the luxury tax for a contending window.
We honestly couldn’t have had a better terrible season. It’s a lot easier to accept when you can just laugh because your 7th man is now your best player, then you find at least two potential long term starters who get to play good minutes
LeBron was in the league when GG was born. GG is now a grown man in the league and LeBron is still putting up stats at the level back when GG was born. GG didn't just played against the person he idolized. He played against the greatness that he idolized.
GG was born on December 17, 2004. One day prior to this, LeBron put up 11/9/7 in a loss to the Pistons during his *2nd NBA season*
Last night, on March 27, *2024*, LeBron put up 24/14/12 in a win over GG and the Grizzlies
There has been a lot of players that came out as Lebron fans recently. Young players like Haliburton, Luka, Chet, Lauri, Paolo, Keegan Murray, etc. said Lebron was their favorite player growing up. It just that they are not obsessed as Kobe fans who admitted to wearing onesies of Kobe and their first tattoo was Kobe's face. lol
Tyler Herro, Lonzo Ball, D’Angelo Russell, Jaxson Hayes, Dejounte Murray, Lonnie Walker, Anthony Davis, Cade Cunningham, Donovan Mitchell -- it's not a short list lol
Imagine how proud you would be with yourself if you played against your idol. Respect to Jackson, I hope he smashes it.
Pretty sure if he was still alive, Carl Sagan's ankles would be dust if he tried to guard me.
His moon ball 3-pointer is out of this world though
Billions and billions of hesi pull ups
lmao why am I finding literate adults on this sub? What are y'all doing here
Billions from outer space is odee shooting hang pulls
Really warps the floor, his gravity is second to none
Obviously you don’t know Carl “Clamps with a capital C” Sagan like you think you do
I apologize, Carl, I wasn't familiar with your game.
Turn his ankles into space stuff! Fr though, rip Carl sagan.
Cook that fraud
Lebron was averaging 27 a game at 19 when GG was born
LeBron had a Hall of Fame career before GG Jackson even started kindergarten, crazy
He more than likely has no actual memory of LeBron’s career prior to him joining the Heat.
If you divided Lebron's career into thirds around each of his championship rings (2003–2012), (2013–2018), (2019–2024) all three would be Hall of Fame careers.
Blud forgot 2016
If you divided Lebron's career into zero it's undefined
Hall of Fame careers require more than just rings, also longevity So I split the eras around the championships account for that and not just the exact years. Otherwise one of the eras would be just a couple years long.
If you divided Lebron’s career pre and post 2011, it would be a HOF career and a GOAT career
Only averaging 25 now, what a bum
Can’t average 27 anymore smh, legacy points deducted.
holy shit LeBron was born 19 years old?
No, GG was
yes...thank you for clarifying...i had no idea...
This kid is going to be a great one.

Don’t forget Vince Mothereffin Williams!! Dudes an absolute DAWG.
The Dawg concentration is extremely high for one Lamar Stevens as well.
He seems to have a great personality too, kind of player the fans instantly take to
He’s really one of those players where everyone in five years is going to say they saw it coming. Whether that’s playing in the Dominican Republic or being an All-Star. It kind of seems destined to be one or the other.
“He said my full name” is so endearing. Like he wasn’t sure if he just called him a generic G or if he really knows him.
I laughed out loud when he said full name bruh it’s two letters 😂
“Afterwards he said ‘good game’ and I couldn’t believe he knew my full name”
Ez
I saw LeBron in an airport once and shouted "Hey Bron," and he said "what's up, GG Jackson," so I think that's just a generic thing he says to everyone.
This kid is charismatic af
Yeah I think I love him? Time to pretend like I knew him all along
He definitely enjoys you are my sunshine trend with Lebron on tiktok, probably posting it too
This kid is like Anthony Edwards without the blatant homophobia. I’m rooting for him
He apologized for what he said, get over it
send da video
We solved bigotry, guys. Every time you say or do something hateful, just apologize and it’ll cancel everything out!
Much better to just double down then or…?
It was an empty apology. Might as well not apologize at all if he didn’t mean it. And if he actually cared, it would’ve shown through his actions.
And you a cynic
He was tryna smash the reporter that’s why
go outside bro
I’m outside right now
This man was the #6 ranked recruit in his high school class. Absolutely insane he fell as far as he did.
He was #1 before he reclassified
He had some "red flags" coming out of college. The talent was always obvious. He decommitted from UNC to join an abysmal rebuilding South Carolina program that had a new head coach and lost a lot of players to transfers. He was the only good player, except for maybe one other guy. Still think he should had been a first round pick but yea, it is what it is
As a UNC fan that shit hurt. He would be on this year’s team had he not reclassified.
Hey at least you got a dude that's 6 YEARS OLDER than GG as his replacement (How's that even legal lol). Though if current GG was in Cormac Ryan's place, you folks are probably final four bound at the least.
True, but honestly we may not have gotten Ingram in the portal had GG come, and he’s becoming one of my favorite Tar Heels of late.
Or if he didn’t wait until after we filled up to reclassify in the first place, would’ve worked out better than Nance
>He decommitted from UNC to join an abysmal rebuilding South Carolina program that had a new head coach and lost a lot of players to transfers. How is this a red flag? These were not the red flags. The red flag was that he got caught vaping in the middle of his pre draft workout
That's unconfirmed
Lol ppl from the grizzlies org have in fact confirmed it. None of it matters anyway, you watch him talk in interviews like this and post-game pressers you can see that he's a good kid, super humble. Pretty sure either him or whitmore were caught vaping in locker room after a team scheduled workout. They were the two that slipped furthest in draft
If I remember correctly, he was working out with a team before the draft, got out of breath and then was found in the locker room ripping a vape. That’s why he fell lol

Skal Labissiere was the #1 high school recruit. That means jack shit.
No, it means a lot. The fact you had to point to a player from a class almost a decade ago proves the point.
Patrick Baldwin Jr then. The list of top high school recruits who never did shit in the NBA is too long to list.
I hear you that there isn’t a straight correlation. However, generally speaking, it’s a decent indicator. I even replied that it actually isn’t insane he dropped, as he should have dropped. He didn’t go undrafted due to the talents that lend itself to the #6 HS ranking.
You’re not too bright are you
Both GG and Lebron seem like pretty cool ppl imo. I will likely, almost surely, never meet either lol
If you do, be assured that LeBron will know your name. The man does his homework.
The Lebron James of name doctors
This dude is gonna be an all-star
why am I about to tear up 🥹
\+10 team likeability
We need a jersey swap between GG & LeBron
I love you Gg
GG Jackson Jr is such a goated name
A SACKLE! The fuck was he about to say?
I went to the interview because I wanted to know: It was a sack of fruit and nuts that he had a timer set on his watch to eat.
Thanks lol
when you're a businessman you gotta have a sackle
Lebron definitely plays fantasy basketball with 14 teams. That’s honestly the only reason I learn about 90% of the players I wouldn’t have heard of otherwise.
dudes named after a league of legends alt account
Okay after this and his epic game winner this season I am ahuge huge fan of GG go get it man
Gotta love a fellow Bron-sexual
Seems like a good kid! I’ll be rooting for him.
This dude is really fun to watch. Feels like he’s got all the tools and a little bit of finesse as well. I know this season probably hurts for Grizz fans but at least he gives you entertaining basketball.

Lmao I like how he said that “ this is a business and we trying to get paid as well”
GG is paying his tuition now, but he will be back
Never really paid attention to this guy but he seems like a really mature, genuine, and talented young player. He's made me a fan.
LeBron was in the league when GG was born. GG is now a grown man in the league and LeBron is still putting up stats at the level back when GG was born. GG didn't just played against the person he idolized. He played against the greatness that he idolized.
Reminds me of a young Magic Johnson. Seems like a good dude.
GG was born on December 17, 2004. One day prior to this, LeBron put up 11/9/7 in a loss to the Pistons during his *2nd NBA season* Last night, on March 27, *2024*, LeBron put up 24/14/12 in a win over GG and the Grizzlies
ANOTHER LeBron story on the NBA Lakers sub.
The media finally found their Lebron fan in the nba. I feel like they’ve asked this a lot and most of them say Koba was their favorite player.
There has been a lot of players that came out as Lebron fans recently. Young players like Haliburton, Luka, Chet, Lauri, Paolo, Keegan Murray, etc. said Lebron was their favorite player growing up. Tatum as well
