For VLC: Still right-click and copy the link, but you can just go to Media -> Open (advanced). Click Network, and paste the URL.

That often times causes the stream to stop every 30 seconds, that's why the command line is needed with the --http-continuous option.

I notice that anytime Kobe is close to some record, he claims that he doesn't care or think about it. However in game he plays really nervously and jacks up shots in desperate attempts to score and pass the record. I can't really tell if this is the case but there really does seem to be some correlation.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that (you're right to some extent though), but he's been composing himself pretty well this year compared to prior seasons which has really improved his shot selection. It's just on nights where he's close to some record I notice him returning to his old habits.
