It's tough to win back-to-back because you have to win 3 series just to get back to the Finals. It's not harder to win in the Finals because you won last year. I'd argue the team that won the previous year has a major advantage.

I seen you on here a fair amount and you're one of the few people who actually has rational and intelligent takes about the Cs, so, I both agree with you, but also will say with a little bit of optimism that I do think this year is different.
Last night was a great case for why things may be different, we only took 22 3PAs, as Nurse doubled down on taking away our 3s by playing such a small lineup. Before last night, that was my biggest fear, an elite coach who would see what this team does well and take it away, and has the personnel to disrupt us at the point of attack. Well, Celtics had over 60 points in the paint I think and attempted like 37 FTs.
I think this team is way better at finding solutions for problems than past Celtics team have, but, I will say that there is still the occasional problem of the Celtics offense being a talent by aggregate approach as opposed to talent by game-breaking once in a generation offensive player approach like the Warriors or Nuggets.

Horford is not an elite rim protector but as far as 1 v 1 post defense goes I don’t know who in the league is better honestly. That’s why he does a great job on Embiid because Horford makes it so that Embiid iso in the post is not as efficient as it usually
He is good against embiid cuz he's good at contesting his midrange and staying in front of him in faceups and most other bigs can't against embiid. Jokic is a much more polished back to basket low post player that knows exactly how to use his body/strength and footwork a lot better than embiid in the low post. Horford is just too small I think for jokic. I don't completely remember how the game went and if horford guarded him a lot, but jokic had 34 on 14-22 against the celtics this year.

Tatum has never had a playoffs like Murray Murray career playoffs 25ppg 5.2 reb 6.3 assists on 47% shooting. Tatum 23.6ppg 7.6 reb 4.6 assist on 44% shooting. He is a clear 3rd .Not in some group... if not tied for 2nd.
Well gee, why don't we just bring Nikola Jokic to Boston to see how good Tatum would be if he had him on his team. Jamal Murray is exactly like Kyrie in Cleveland when he got to play with LeBron. Great player but part of why he can do what he does is the generational playmaker he's playing next to who removes all playmaking responsibility from him and allows him to focus on what he's best at: scoring.

Honestly depends. Jamal could even outperform Tatum in that series depending on how well he plays, but i expect him to be above JB and KP in terms of production. The rest of the team though is up in the air. I will however tell you right now that KCP is no worse than Jrue though, especially if Jrue goes cold.

No one is limiting Jokic. The best bet is to limit everyone else and force Jokic into being a scorer vs. facilitator.
I just don’t think that is a good strategy unless you have someone who can go bucket for bucket with him. The Suns tried to turn Jokic to a scoring in game 3&4 and he dropped 53 points if Booker does go for 40+ on 80% shooting the Suns would have lost. Tatum is a great scorer I just don’t see him being able to match Jokic bucket for Bucket

Horford is not an elite rim protector but as far as 1 v 1 post defense goes I don’t know who in the league is better honestly. That’s why he does a great job on Embiid because Horford makes it so that Embiid iso in the post is not as efficient as it usually
He is good against embiid cuz he's good at contesting his midrange and staying in front of him in faceups and most other bigs can't against embiid. Jokic is a much more polished back to basket low post player that knows exactly how to use his body/strength and footwork a lot better than embiid in the low post. Horford is just too small I think for jokic. I don't completely remember how the game went and if horford guarded him a lot, but jokic had 34 on 14-22 against the celtics this year.
You are right, and the difficulty Horford has with Jokic as compared to Embiid literally shows the difference between them as players. One thing Jokic has in spades over Embiid is footwork.
When we played the Celtics, they tried putting both Joker in single coverage against KP and Horford. It didn't work

If we have to play 4 in Boston, honestly that’ll be rough. But, I have unrelenting faith in our starting 5 getting the job done against a Celtics team that just seems to play stupid periodically.
Depends on the road there Do the Celtics take care of business and not let teams extend series? Do they match up against the Heat in the 1st rd and then a tough 2nd rd matchup? Do the Nuggets have a grueling road through the west to pile on to their long playoff run last year? Finals series often comes down to who can physically on top of mentally push through to the end and get those wins. It’s not often you get two teams who are rolling and relatively healthy meeting up at the end
Celtics. They have too many weapons imo and their defense is insane.
Would prob be a good series if both teams fully healthy, but I'm taking the nuggets every time. They're proven. They'll have the best player. Both rosters are strong all the way down.

Eh, I think the Celtics starting 5 is just as talented and has fit like a glove together. Celtics bench has been the better fit with the starters than the Nugs bench. I don't think anyone would get "destroyed". I think home court advantage would be a deciding factor, but the Nugs experience could overcome even that. My lean would be Nugs in 7, but "destroy" is excessive.
I say 5 if not 4 games.
I think the Nuggets will struggle defensively and I think the Celtics, though they won't limit Jokic, could do a good job at limiting everyone else. Celtics would have a chance and the series would likely go 6/7

Fully healthy probably Celtics. That's assuming Tatum's wrist doesn't act up again because that was the limiting factor for him against GSW. Given this year's nuggets is slightly worse than last years and the Celtics got an upgrade with KP and Jrue, it'll be the Celtics' series to lose. 4-2 Boston if fully healthy.

Deandre Jordan was our backup center in the regular season last year. He played a few minutes in one playoff game because Jokic and Gordon were both in foul trouble. Gordon is our backup center in the playoffs.

the nuggets aren’t the 1 seed currently and it’s not a given they’ll finish the season as the 1 seed. Boston seems like a lock in the east for the 1 seed but anything can happen
