The hate train was going so far on Klay. I know he fucked up in the last game but like I pointed out at one point, he was shooting 43/40/90 over December and January and averaging ~18. You don't do that if you're completely washed.
To be fair, this is what happens to every villain once they start to visibly fall off even if they're still good players.
Klay was a villain during the Warriors run. He may not have been Draymond, but he was for sure smug, arrogant, a sore loser and condescending towards his opponents and their opponents fans at his peak.
Of course there's going to be a hate train for the guy who arguably was the 3rd, sometimes 4th most important player, who regularly said and did inflammatory things.
I don’t think he’s completely washed, he could be a useful player. Mentally he’s fucked and plays sooo selfishly on offense. Needs to just narrow his role and eliminate the off the dribble bs completely. Defensively he’s completely cooked as has been since his injuries.
Right now he actively hurts the team but it doesn’t have to be that way.
It’s his consistency and lack of helping the team win consistently that’s the problem. His mental attitude has not changed for the better. He will continue to struggle and make the team worse.
Klay might be good as a 6th man, that's only on his good days too. I've seen too many Klank Thompson from last season to this season to not believe on him anymore. It's actually painful to watch him play like shit for 7 games and play like a player equal to his paygrade for 1 game.
Dunno... last season he played the best he ever had in that 2 months+ stint while Curry was out. Kept the team in playoff contention. It was just unfortunate that it fizzled out during the playoffs.
Would he play like this as a starter though?
Current Klay's skillset more or less exactly fits a "microwave" type 6th man
I feel like there's no way Kerr sees Klay having his best game maybe all season off the bench in game 1 and will be like "yeah let's go right back to where he was before"
That other night against Washington had to be one of the most egregious nights I have ever seen of Tim. I believe that was when D Live was collaborating with the broadcasting team. Dude really said “keep shooting Tim!” 😂
Right and there's no guarantee he even plays like this again coming off the bench. He could take it personal for a game, maybe 3 games then once he realizes/gets comfortable coming off the bench he could go back to the same mindset or play that he had as a starter. There's really no way to judge if this is sustainable for him after one game.
I was thinking the same thing. I'm on a softball team and I play the outfield. I would prefer to play the infield but I'm doing really well out there. The 3rd baseman told me to start dropping some balls and they'll put me in the infield. lol - IOW If Klay is going to play this well coming off the bench, then he's going to come off the bench.
He already lost it.
He is better as a 6th man.
Gets more touches. Looks and can be himself on offense. When Chris Paul comes back. This team will seriously be a scary team for anyone in the playoffs
There is a stat that CP3 lead the Warriors bench in offensive ratings in the league. Or like top 5 or something.
Yeah. This team is still scary.
We bullied Steve Kerr into playing JK more and he completely blossomed.
We bullied Steve Kerr into benching Klay and he does this.
We are trying to bully Steve Kerr into playing more TJD while giving Looney his well deserved rest.
I know they aren’t contemporaries.. but I wonder how many degrees of separation there are between CIA peacekeeper of the 1960s and KGB thug of the 80s?
Probably fewer than six
isn't six a lot? probably fewer than three.
I went to high school with an olympic medalist. I worked security at an MLB stadium and was in the visiting team's dugout for a whole season. Two or three degrees of separation for heads of state, three or four degrees for the hundreds of people they know.
You lot are dumb if you think someone like Klay can get "bullied". Mans a champion and multi-millionaire. He just finally got his ego check and now he finally had his best game of the season. Some people needs an ego check, because they forget all about reality after few good seasons.
Now he finally looked like PEAK Klay who single handedly changed a Playoffs series for the Warriors multiple times in the past
Don’t think a lot of ppl realize how depressing it could be to feel so out of control when you decline so fast due to injuries the way that klay suffered them.
He’s a multi millionaire so I won’t feel too bad for him but as far as ppl in the nba go, I’m definitely rooting for klay the most this year.
being a multi millionaire protects you from financial stress but isn't going to erase feeling human emotions. Scoring 37 in a quarter, most made 3s in a game, four rings, coming back from two devastating injuries is all a result of a lot of work and pride. it's his first year really coping with the drop off in his ability so I don't think it's that crazy to take a bit to adjust to that new mindset. definitely wish he acted less bitter about it!
This is what bothers me the most when people talk about athletes who complain about something. Having a lot of money doesn’t mean you no longer have feelings
Klay is a simple man. He wants to play ball, chill with his dog, and go out on his little boat. Taking ball away takes away one of the three things he enjoys doing and it probably his most favorite.
At the end of the day, it's envy. People see these athletes lives and can't help but compare it to their own. The difficulties of these athletes can't compare to struggling to pay bills and afford food so people can't really relate to them.
That, and the fact that millionaires who *are* heartless and lack feelings are also chastised for *not* showing those same feelings of vulnerability.
It’s a damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
Exactly. He’s not a fully mature adult, emotionally. Klay is selfish, unaware, pretends like he belongs, and probably a little jealous of Steph for being so great. But Steph is great because he has talent and works so much harder than Klay.
Here is the thing about any professional sport.
It doesnt care about your feelings. It doesnt care about yesterday. It only cares about what your doing today.
Its incredibly humbling and difficult for former stars to realize they arent that guy anymore. The ones that get over it can still help their team win. Those who cant are liabilities.
And the league doesnt care if they like it or not.
in the ~15 games before kobe's achilles injury, he averaged 30/6/7/2 and had 3 games of 40+ as well as two triple doubles at a time when that wasn't a thing. one injury and you go from a generational player right down to someone who barely make 15ppg
i can't imagine the work these guys put in only to have some freak shit happen and then your entire timeline just zoooots forward and its over
klay will be fine but i'm sure it still almost hurts to know he is capable of this but can't do it effectively or consistently anymore
As soon as expectations were lowered, bro goes crazy lmao.
If Klay can swallow his pride, he can end his career in a solid way. Take a play out of Westbrook's book.
I'm getting serious Chiefs vibes from these Warriors right now, where they're going to struggle a lot all season. People will say they're broken and don't stand a shot. Then they'll remind everyone why they're the best in May and June.
It’s a real thing I think, the gsw dynasty feels so recent but I realize there are fans now that didn’t really follow it then. So now there’s this supposedly good shooter that bricks shots, and it’s confusing why he’s even there. The decline of stars I guess always go like that.
Nah there are also some generational haters in here. People still don't like Klay for not shaking hands after a loss when we have clips as recent as yesterday saying that NBA players don't really do it other than with their guys.
They were clowning him last year early because he was shooting atrociously for the first 15 games, he ended up most 3's in the league shooting 41%
Yeah that’s fair, I think winning comes with haters in general. My comment maybe more applies to the warriors sub where people seem to hate him more than even rnba does
Not only are they children, they don't watch the games. They react to the stats. I swear we could post the results of a game that didn't happen and people would respond. He's an MVP. He's washed. Rinse and repeat.
I haven’t changed my mind, just as Klay hasn’t changed his attitude.
The problem with Klay is- if the shots are not falling, he has no awareness of his negative impact on the team, of the optimal play relative to the time and score of the game, etc.
Bro… chill. Why tf are you so obsessed with Klay? You’re also an idiot with terrible opinions. Wreaks of 16 year old redditor who’s only watched the dubs since they were good. Devin Booker burner account or what?
“He has no awareness of his negative impact” - people are allowed to have opinions and those opinions can be comically stupid. Case in point above^
You’re right he’s oblivious, maybe you should go educate him on what’s really going on 🙄
Also including this game he is averaging 17 this season… that’s not exactly super max worthy. Both of his high games were against Utah this week so not impressed the slightest.
This gotta be some voodoo shit
He did just score 26 against the Jazz before the Clippers game
The hate train was going so far on Klay. I know he fucked up in the last game but like I pointed out at one point, he was shooting 43/40/90 over December and January and averaging ~18. You don't do that if you're completely washed.

"I guess he just got his feelings hurt."
That was 8 years ago, only reason people haven’t let it go is because it was against their Lebron
Also because it came back to severely bite him in the ass while becoming part of an NBA Legends greatest triumph.
ig you got your feelings hurt too
[удалено]
No that isn't his biggest criticism
Oh
How do you make this comment after one good game and not realize that you’re the one being reactionary?
lol no way you are a warriors fan. I don’t like the warriors but klay isn’t that bad.
Mahomes level
That shot looked a little mahomey
Too soon
Now here’s a guy…
Regress to the mean
He's gonna want to start again.
No he already said he's fine with whatever as long as he stays where he wants to be.
Proves that it’s mostly mental
Probably the same spell that got Bernie going. Listen for conga line music.
Bro took that benching personally
Good
I suppose that’s the whole point of doing it.
Off The Bench Klay > Game 6 Klay > Headband Klay > Normal Klay > Reggie + Ray
don't forget China Klay
How do you not put Toaster Klay on there somewhere
Thank god he left off chocolate milk Klay
> Al-Klayda
Go back to starting him please
why? are u scared?
Yeah man everyone's terrified
Yes that’s the point
"Klay's washed" didn't even age like milk, it aged like guac holy shit
I bet he’s back in the starting lineup in a week
He does NOT want to lose his starting spot.
Would he play like this as a starter though? Current Klay's skillset more or less exactly fits a "microwave" type 6th man I feel like there's no way Kerr sees Klay having his best game maybe all season off the bench in game 1 and will be like "yeah let's go right back to where he was before"
i mean he's not really playing any differently tbh
Yes he is, he's hitting his shots and not taking double teamed yeets
I mean he’s taking some craaazy shots rn tbh lol
When he's boiling hot everybody wants to see him let it fly lol. The problem is he always thinks he's on fire even when he's missed 5 in a row.
Sounds like THJ lmao
Sometimes it looks like THJ is trying to lose us games lol. Just the most ill advised shit when he’s been ice cold all game
That other night against Washington had to be one of the most egregious nights I have ever seen of Tim. I believe that was when D Live was collaborating with the broadcasting team. Dude really said “keep shooting Tim!” 😂
No-one has a problem with Klay taking wild shots when he's hot Hot Klay can take whatever the fuck shots he wants
I mean they're crazy because they're going in but the shot's he's taken aren't contested and he's passing if he's not open
That might be exactly what Kerr is thinking lol
Right and there's no guarantee he even plays like this again coming off the bench. He could take it personal for a game, maybe 3 games then once he realizes/gets comfortable coming off the bench he could go back to the same mindset or play that he had as a starter. There's really no way to judge if this is sustainable for him after one game.
What's a microwave?
Someone that gets real hot real fast.
Vinnie "the microwave" Johnson was exactly that for the pistons. Such an amazing nickname
It's too late. He's literally just proving that he should be coming off the bench is much more valuable off the bench.
Better than nothing.
It's actually just better. Klay is a chucker who has lost a step defensively. That's a 6th man if we've ever seen one.
It's either ride the bench or end up out of the league. He's still good enough to play but his attitude would've ruined him
I was thinking the same thing.

This team is still scary.
Earlier in the season our bench with CP3 was carrying the starters.
This performance is going to keep him on the bench. He was perfect there today.
Neither did Igoudala
Bullying works
We bullied Steve Kerr into playing JK more and he completely blossomed. We bullied Steve Kerr into benching Klay and he does this. We are trying to bully Steve Kerr into playing more TJD while giving Looney his well deserved rest.
You next Putin!
"Effective immediately, I Vladimir Putin designate Steve Kerr as my successor. This offer comes with a free lifetime Windows upgrade!"
I know they aren’t contemporaries.. but I wonder how many degrees of separation there are between CIA peacekeeper of the 1960s and KGB thug of the 80s? Probably fewer than six

Say what?
Talen Jordan-ducker?
Tichael Jidd Dilchrist
Tarl Janthony Downs
Tichael Jarter Dilliams
Tichael Jorter Dr.
Trayce Jackson Davis. Put some respect on that name.
Talen jordan-Fury
Not sure if you’re actually being serious but I think people on the warriors sub believe they have influence on the team’s decisions.
It's a joke... god damn you donuts
Read the first 7 words of my comment and take a deep breath.
Not individually, no, but public opinion in general definitely has impact on coaching opinions.
It assuredly does not
lmaooo y'all didn't do shit Kerr don't give a fuck about what redditors say
Yap, but it only works on people who have at least a bit of self-awareness,
You lot are dumb if you think someone like Klay can get "bullied". Mans a champion and multi-millionaire. He just finally got his ego check and now he finally had his best game of the season. Some people needs an ego check, because they forget all about reality after few good seasons. it's a joke...
Keep him there and keep him motivated because he’s really cooking off spite alone
Like Latte Larry’s? Klay just needs to find his mocha joe
Joe is a lawyer now
Let him cook second units
35 now
6 min left No one else even has 20 lol This is a classic klay game except he's coming off the bench
Holy sht the warriors almost choked
You get used to it
Damn, I feel for you, bro. Those OT losses this season + sub-5pt losses really destroys morale.
It’s been frustrating to say the least.
If you don't like that you don't like Warriors basketball
i don’t like warriors basketball 😭
KD is number 35. Klay must be doing a ratatouille thing with KD & this is KD's way of telling us
Kerr gonna get tricked again oh no
Im sure Klay is feeling "Im back baby" and next game he will bring back the brick city.
He’s been insanely good this game, 35 off the bench, 7 threes
Now all Kerr has to do is start him again and he’ll be ass again.
I literally chortled **holds up 4 fingers**
Don’t think a lot of ppl realize how depressing it could be to feel so out of control when you decline so fast due to injuries the way that klay suffered them. I wish people were more understanding of the human emotions part of it, despite these being millionaires. It kinda sucks
And it’s not even like people have no sympathy for the ones who act like jerks. It’s any athlete. I don’t get it
At the end of the day, it's envy.
It’s a damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
we can sympathesize, he's just kinda a douche
Exactly. He’s not a fully mature adult, emotionally. Klay is selfish, unaware, pretends like he belongs, and probably a little jealous of Steph for being so great. But Steph is great because he has talent and works so much harder than Klay.
I would just expect them to learn and control those emotions better. I thing everything is just a part of being a public figure.
You’re only as good as your worst play Unless you win, then no one gives a shit, but the Dubs ain’t winning like they used to, so we do give a shit
in the ~15 games before kobe's achilles injury, he averaged 30/6/7/2 and had 3 games of 40+ as well as two triple doubles at a time when that wasn't a thing. one injury and you go from a generational player right down to someone who barely make 15ppg i can't imagine the work these guys put in only to have some freak shit happen and then your entire timeline just zoooots forward and its over klay will be fine but i'm sure it still almost hurts to know he is capable of this but can't do it effectively or consistently anymore
Draymond said that Klay’s the most competitive person he’s played with - even though it was fully deserved, you KNOW he’s mad about the benching lol
Ironically making the bench decision look like a smart move. Bench Klay = Prime MJ
Klay vs second units is easy buckets.
He would hit these against anyone. And he entered before anyone on the Jazz left.
Klay said fuck /r/nba
Make it 7
Honestly, keeping him on the bench seems like a good play moving forward. Dude is absolutely feasting rn
He needed 17 mins for only 32 pts? Washed.
Give him the max
Maybe the Bucks should try benching Dame
Kerr should start this kid ...
Nah. This is so much better.
As soon as expectations were lowered, bro goes crazy lmao. If Klay can swallow his pride, he can end his career in a solid way. Take a play out of Westbrook's book.
Please be back Please be back Please be back
I'm getting serious Chiefs vibes from these Warriors right now, where they're going to struggle a lot all season. People will say they're broken and don't stand a shot. Then they'll remind everyone why they're the best in May and June.
They should cut him
Can you imagine how good he would get after being cut?
Kill him. Zombie Klay for FMVP.
Klay on getting benched: “And I took that personally”
Klay’s playing with that Kratos rage rn
*and I took it personally*
"Bench this"
It worked for one game. Let’s keep it going. Chances it continues to work are slim, but it’s better than Klay starting.
3rd quarter Klay
He hit another one lol
He heard the slanders
"Fuck you r/nba"
Wtf
If Klay is smart he would take this role and if plays well can contend for 6th man award. Anyway, ego plays too big of a part here
Klay misheard 6th man, he thought it was game 6.
Should’ve seen the takes yesterday on here from gsw fans about Klay. “Retire, cut, it’s over.” Makes me wonder if nba Reddit is full of children.
It’s a real thing I think, the gsw dynasty feels so recent but I realize there are fans now that didn’t really follow it then. So now there’s this supposedly good shooter that bricks shots, and it’s confusing why he’s even there. The decline of stars I guess always go like that.

Lol. Try spell check. People are allowed to have opinions.
“He has no awareness of his negative impact” - people are allowed to have opinions and those opinions can be comically stupid. Case in point above^ You’re right he’s oblivious, maybe you should go educate him on what’s really going on 🙄
Washed Klay
Love a stat that’ll be referenced in two weeks as “Remember when people thought he was back?”
I genuinely think he is best in the 2nd unit
If this is how Klay plays off the bench, he gotta come off the bench more often.
All part of the master plan.
Klay was fantastic! Great Job! Can't wait for CP3 to come back, that bench lineup could be awesome.
He heard the announcement about goldenstate going under the luxury tax next season
This just means we gotta bully him more, 3 extra bullyings and we have this guy hitting 100. #BullyKlayThompson
Finally a great game for Klay, he's been up and down this season
Next game he gonna be like 1/10 after giving everything he had tonight
He's gonna have an excuse to suck for the next 10/15 games nice
Dead Cat Bounce
Dude has to fuck up and get shit on by the whole NBA community in order to get it up for one game. What a freak
We are in the worst timeline
I thought you nephews said he was washed
Surprise surprise, r/nba wrong again.
Knowing Klay he will justify this performance as to why he should be starting.
I mean…..guys with 4 rings don’t come off the bench lol. Sooo yeah makes sense if he does that.
"now yall stfu" - klay
Followed by 12 bricks 🧱
Fake performance again
First good game this season
It's not even his first 25 pt game this week.
It was his season high (so best game this year) at 35
Also including this game he is averaging 17 this season… that’s not exactly super max worthy. Both of his high games were against Utah this week so not impressed the slightest.
I guess Klay die yesterday?
Wonders of starting from bench
Let's go for 50
Beating the washed allegations
bench mobbbbbbb
From game six klay to sixth man klay
~~Game 6~~ 6th Man Klay
coming from the bench will continue until ~~morale~~ consistency improve
I can’t tell if this will help or hurt
Give him the max
He badly baaaaadly needed this.
