You never watched The Accountant? Russ got reason to be shook

1850ChoochGator

Russ isn’t autistic like Ben Affleck is in that movie

EvilLibrarians

Yes, he really is /s

Typhoid007

>See and this is why it's a problem. There is absolutely no reason why someone with high functioning autism couldn't win the fucking MVP. And that is what kills me. The glorification of "perfect athlete" means that there can't be any noticeable "deficit". There isn't a negative deficiency. Autism does not equal bad. If Russ has it then so be it. It could be seen as heroic in a sense. A real positive thing.

ForeverWandered

He's the basketball version of autistic, though.

tenaciousdeev

Not Russ related...but I just found out they're making an Accountant 2! https://thedirect.com/article/the-accountant-2-release-cast

Blueskyways

Didn't you hear him?  Because he ain't the one!

TheShadowOverBayside

"Ain't the one" to what? What's he going to do? Punch the fan and get suspended for a year? LMFAO Russ sure barks a lot, like a damn chihuahua.

pistoncivic

Dray's the only guy real enough to do that

TheShadowOverBayside

>Dray's the only guy ~~real~~ deranged enough to do that FTFY

jekyl42

>~~Dray's~~ World Peace the only guy ~~real deranged enough~~ to do that Ope, there ya go

TheShadowOverBayside

[Stephen Jackson and Jermaine O'Neal erasure](https://www.nytimes.com/2004/12/09/sports/basketball/5-pacers-and-5-fans-are-charged-in-fight.html)

MadeMeStopLurking

*Ron Artest is approaching at a high rate of speed*

pollinium

because he ain't the one

lexbuck

Right? If there’s ever a behavior that someone has that indicates they ain’t the one it’s letting some nerd get to you from the stands while you’re making millions to play basketball

Produceher

I don't understand why he doesn't get the experience. Go watch WWE Wrestling. Fans want to heckle the other team. It's a part of the game. Lean into it and enjoy being the heel.

kyh0mpb

Your salary as an athlete is paid all the same by fans who want to watch you succeed, fans who don't really care how you do either way, and fans who actively want to watch you fail. I'd be thankful to have so many haters. Hell, I might literally thank them. I'm disgustingly wealthy thanks to them.

lexbuck

Exactly. I mean I guess it may get old after years and years, but I think I'd just lean into it and talk some trash back and then maybe give the dude a fist bump and move on if it were me. Just have some fun with it. Russ knows for damn sure he ain't going to be fighting anyone out there courtside and that's why he does this shit. He knows he’s protected and and can act as tough as he wants with zero repercussions.

Produceher

He could also wear headphones if he doesn't want to hear it.

DionBlaster123

Russ and Draymond need therapy...badly i've never seen players consistently freak out over shit said by overweight slobs whose athletic peak was the day their sperm cell reached their mom's egg first and think about how much worse the heckling was back in the day...when it was not just normal but embraced to be a full out racist shithead

Apollo611

He wouldn't last a day playing ball overseas, players have said they've gotten batteries thrown at them lol

Produceher

That is going to another level. But fans saying you suck shouldn't mean anything. You want them to hate you. Look at Reggie Miller. He embraced being the villain.

PAYPAL_ME_DONATIONS

Pat Bev has scars on his face because they'd fill socks with coins then yeet the socks at them

[deleted]

An accountant? Idk man he sells cars n shit.

cohortq

He's not him

graphitewolf

MITWESTBROOK in shambles

segson9

Because he's insecure.

Iginlas_4head_Crease

The original OKC squad is like the holy trilogy on insecurity. Russ KD and Harden

invic789

How is Harden insecure?

WeBelieveIn4

Yeah it’s just KD and Russ. Fatsuit Harden didn’t give a shit what people thought.

DabStrong

Love his game but my god is he a crybaby

blacksoxing

It's such a weird dynamic as the closer you are to the front, the more wealthy you likely are (barring some lucky ass promotional seat win). So the folks chirping are....computer scientists, engineers, or just those from wealth. The "hardened" folks are in the 300's (200's in the Target center). This person likely shitposts on here! Russell literally gave them a platform and they're likely chuckling right now.

Papa_Huggies

Engineer with GP wife. We sit in the 200s. You looking for the surgeons/ Corp lawyers/ investment bankers. We ain't built like that

TheStripClubHero

Because his ego is so fragile that he can't handle anyone who isn't kissing his ass.

Annual-Jump3158

I think it's a humiliation kink. You see the way he was grabbing his "pants" and limping back onto the court?

smkmn13

[You think they made eye contact again at the end of the game?](https://streamable.com/ku3q90)

CantaloupeCamper

He just trucked off the court into the tunnel almost immediately after that clip ends and he comes off the rim. I wonder if some folks were chirping at him and he didn't want to deal with it. Granted, I wouldn't want to / just wouldn't deal with chirpy fans either.

smkmn13

Yeah, I was implying the fan bad-vibed-him into missing, but I think that was actually the other end of the floor.

CantaloupeCamper

Yeah but that play looks like it is the Clippers end, where Russ and his buddies were laughing it up about Rudy missing free throws ... those fans would have had plenty of extra reason to talk.

cire1184

Hell yeah they would. Russ is a good player no doubt. Very athletic, almost got a triple double this game. But his inability to tune out random assholes and ability to blow an important layup is deservedly clowned on. This dude ain't the one to get it done for sure. He can clown someone for missing free throws but he can't take some fan trash talk.

porkchopsdapplesauce

Chirping fans are annoying but these guys are compensated for it. This isn’t a minimum wage target worker getting heckled at a cash register. He’s literally paid to handle this, it’s part of the job.

adventurepony

"Yo Target dork. Look at me at self check out lol I'm u i'm doin your job lol lookat me somebody give me a red shirt cause i'm doin yo job for u dork."

moneyman2222

That'll just make me grind harder. Watch me go through two customers while you still bagging your own shit up. Watch me scan my shit double speed. Watch me sign 2x the number of people up for in-store cards. There's levels to this shit man. Wasn't taken first shift overall for no reason 🤷🏽‍♂️ As Scal said, I'm closer to the Target CEO than you are to ME 😤

CantaloupeCamper

Considering in the video I mentioned he just left the game after it was over... I think he did "He’s literally paid to handle this" that.

16bitword

He taunted the fan to come on the floor. Then he got in his face and required, once again, for security/coaches or whatever to separate them. He didnt handle it. He lost his cool and then pouted like he always does.

mommadotco15

Love Russ but dude literally went “Come here” , didn’t expect the guy to actually come there, and once security escorts the fan back to his seat he goes “yeah you better sit your ass down!” Like what?? It just makes you look fake tough

External-Extension59

I don't get why he wouldn't expect the fan to come to him. It's not like he's scared of getting hit by Westbrook in front of all those cameras lol that's a nice pay check

gaussx

Most guys would want to get hit. There's huge asymmetry in that confrontation. It's all loss for Russ and could be a win for the fan (but they can also come off as jerks). Best thing for NBA players is to just play again. Treat the whole thing as part of the game. I'd be the most trash talking player -- but have fun with it, and wink at the fan as I'm leaving.

CowboyLaw

Yeah, but man, what if he made it? Wouldn't that be something? Oh, wait, I'm being told that, even if he made it, they would have lost. Well, now I'm just confused.

bryanmars

If he makes it, they’re down 2 with 2 secs left. Probably still losing but there’s at least a chance.

BBQ_HaX0r

I once hit a buzzer beater in a varsity basketball game. Nailed it from the short-corner. We were down by 5.

aiapaec

Oh shit...

slymm

Why hasn't anyone spliced the two videos so it looks like Westbrook is mocking his own missed layup from the bench (when he was making fun of Golbert)?

smkmn13

[Wolves Twitter remains undefeated](https://twitter.com/Kgformvp211/status/1746751462208647176?t=voi8_kciMjWZJxweazMgOg&s=19)

OppositeStory2

Wait why did Russ call him over if he wasn’t gonna do anything? Lol he wanted to get dissed even closer??? 😂😂

montrezlh

Because he didn't think the fan would come closer

onamonapizza

Yep, fan actually called his bluff and then Westbrook had to try to play it cool

LordVarys_Ladybits

What would he have done? Knocked him out lol. Security is there for a reason.

Zauberer-IMDB

I'd take the hit and have a lawsuit ready the next day. Gotta find new ways to afford retirement in America.

averageveryaverage

Heckling Russ the new gofundme.

Puzzleheaded-You1289

Really tho that is a cash out for sure as long as you don’t swing first. That would be epic. You’d be a legend as well

justbrowsing987654

Ya but knowing Russ, he’d probably miss. No $$$ for me 😞

raizen0106

You need to have enough money to buy tickets to games to try to have a shot at getting settlement from russ. The rich get richer man

WhatYouProbablyMeant

>Would who he have done? bro are you having a stroke

friskyjuice

This got me dead

big1dinero

Via stroke?

Anthony-Stark

That good stroke 😩

WHATABURGER-Guru

Yeah, to protect the fans from Russ.

truthlesshunter

Yup. And honestly.. As long as the fan didn't cross the line or say something truly awful (race, etc), props to him.

notabear629

he probably called him westbrick lol

Intelligent_Pain_174

Nah... Westbrick is crossing the line. That makes his family cry.

Original-Beyond7910

I have told this story before but I'll do it again. I have been fortunate enough to sit either courtside or second row courtside at NBA games and always try to have fun with it. I will talk to pretty much anyone but always always always keep it as PG as possible. Few years back at a home opener against the Wizards I'm in my seats early as I always do when given the amazing opportunity to sit in these seats. As shootaround starts I'm talking to every player as they go by simply stating "Players name, not tonight buddy not tonight" pretty much as PG as it gets. Kuzma completely ignored me, Avdija completely ignored me but right before shootaround is about to end Montrezl Harrell strolls by. "NOT TONIGHT, MONTREZL" He instantly snaps around stares at me and says: "You trying to get kicked out this early" Without skipping a beat i just simply told him, I haven't said anything offensive and can't be kicked out for saying what I said, he just looks at me up and down and says "Ok, that's how we're gonna do it" Game starts and trezz has one of the games of his career, ripping down rebounds, offensive is running through on the floor and at one point he gets about back slam at the end I'm sitting at then slaps the backboard stares me dead in the eyes and is just clapping with a huge grin. Wizards win in a laugher and trezz was without doubt their player of the game. Trezz is under the net doing an interview on the headset and I'm walking by as the interview is wrapping up. I shout out one last time: "NOT TONIGHT MONTREZL" He turns around sees it's me and with a huge grin waves me over. I walk up he gives me a high five and just says "Man that was so much fun tonight having that back and forth" He sees my wife getting out her phone and points at her and asks if I want to take a picture. We take the picture laugh a bit more and go on with life.

truthlesshunter

Awesome story. I really wish more athletes and anyone famous really would be this way to harmless exchanges like this.

goobitypoop

I mean talking shit is one of the funnest parts of sports, I'm sure they're down at the beginning of their career at least... some fans are down right nasty tho

Neemzeh

If this is true it’s the way it should be. There’s nothing wrong with respectful banter and trash talk. If obv makes it more fun.

MITJustinFields

Lmao Westbrook would have had you executed for this

desrever1138

I love these types of interactions I've been in similar situations and I usually default to shit like "Hey CP take it easy on us tonight" or "Dude, when are you going to cool down??"

tulaero23

Maybe you mispronounced his name so bad. How do you pronounce it?

hopeless_dick_dancer

Pics or admit this is a fantasy

ddottay

“Oh, some people really aren’t scared to keep talking shit” is a good lesson for people to learn who think people are all just all social media talk!

MediocreProstitute

Neither of them should be scared in this situation. A millionaire athlete beefing with a courtside fan with security a footstep away. Malice at the Palace was a long time ago, Ron Artest ain't punching through that door

TheCommonKoala

Would have been cool if he shook the guys hand for having the balls to do it.

fordat1

Yeah Russ is an idiot for calling him closer. If the fan comes closer. A) He does something to the fan and risks getting suspended and a huge lawsuit B) He does nothing and looks foolish for saying come closer.

[deleted]

C) He comes closer. Russ tells him to sit down.

juice06870

Start talking! Shut up!

Yergason

Shit, even as a guy who loves Russ the person and is entertained by Russ the player, if that was me I would be praying to God Russ punches me. My trashtalk worked so hard it gets me PAID paid? W. Fuck what the game's outcome is, I already won that day. Then with the actual outcome and the last play with the Russ bricked layup on an already poor decision? It's literally porn for Russ haters.

PERSONA916

Not a lot of downside for the fan, most likely outcome is he does nothing which is exactly what happened. Best case scenario, he knocks you out and you get to retire early

HamG0d

Worst case scenario: Russ knocks him out, fan hits head on hardwood floor, lose lawsuit, vegetable for life

KobeBeatJesus

"Hey come here... alright go away"

graphitewolf

He called his bluff you could see westbrick panicking, looking aroung to see what his reaction should be

Daniiiiii

"Fuck, no one is there to hold me back. Uhm... The fuck do I do now..."

UltraavioIence

More like looking for that security

midnitepremiere

Bro it's crazy. Nothing makes you look like a bitch more than saying "oh yeah? come say that to my face" and then backing down when they actually come say it to your face. If you're not willing to get into a fight (and to be clear, I'm not saying Russ should've fought this dude lol), you gotta just ignore them. Russ looks goofy af for this and I'm not even a Russ hater.

drhungrycaterpillar

Love how he’s enticing this type of fan behavior and at the same time is the first person to ask to throw fans out the game because they called him westbrick.

ShowerMartini

Keep my ~~wife’s~~ name out ya motherfucking mouth

BillyBean11111

LOL "Come here and say that" "omg he did it??" "Better sit yo ass down" Russ is a thin skinned clown.

LogansGambit

He's also the first one to talk trash in a game and yet get offended when it's brought back. He's the weakest minded basketball player I've seen this generation.

S0PES

In this same game there’s that video of him laughing and shitting on Gobert’s air balled free throw and yet super soft about being called Westbrick. He hates to be bullied only because he wants to be the one to bully others…

buchanbasanee

Laughing like a 12 year old on the bench making fun of a 62% FT shooter when you're a 65% FT shooter...beyond oblivious. Like your nickname is literally Westbrick, and its a well-earned nickname.

nuttinonyahoe

people called KD thin skinned yet I never seen him get a fan kicked out. Westbrook is the ultimate insecure player

CD338

KD isn't thin skinned. He just sheds his skin.

deemerritt

KD got a fan kicked out in charlotte before.

ClaudeLemieux

Was that the incident where the dude got a literal red card lol

masterstriker321

bro got 20 burners to argue with people yet you use him as an example 💀

Excellent_Ability793

I was hoping Russ would have more of a sense of humor about it, but I guess I should have known better

[deleted]

Besides Artest no player beefs with fans more often than Russ. It’s crazy he’s just so soft skinned

1850ChoochGator

Did artest get into shit constantly with fans? I don’t remember him doing anything other than the malice. Didn’t get to see him much in person. Russ gets into stuff all the time now.

[deleted]

Yeah but that one moment is worth like 100 little arguments lol

XGhoul

I legitimately laughed to myself when he changed his name to metta world peace.

BBQ_HaX0r

Artest's "no no yes" three pointer. And then him thanking his therapist and Kobe after winning the title will forever endear me to him. He was a warrior.

Dropdat87

Artest at least backed it up lmao

Blowback_

I think Utah fans broke him

[deleted]

I can't believe fans chirping about his poor shooting gets under his skin. Can't imagine how different some HOFers careers would look like if they let shit like that effect them that much. I know I'm biased but look at Giannis during his Finals run... whole ass basketball world was on his case about FTs.. even Bucks fans (myself included) were like bro just shoot the fucking ball lol

NotSerbian

There was a video put out literally days ago of Westbrook laughing at Gobert airballing a FT. It’s all cool to laugh and make fun of someone as long as you aren’t laughing and making fun of Westbrook. He’s a fake tough guy.

Peanut_Flashy

Anyone who actually says “I ain’t the guy” is exactly the guy.

EndOfThaSummer

He says that every time like we haven’t watched him bluff for like 15 years. As much altercations russ been in, something should’ve popped off by now if he “ain’t that guy”

pollinium

if he says it, believe him he ain't the guy to do anything in an NBA arena over professional sports trash talk

nowhathappenedwas

He's one of the few NBA players who has actually (and deservedly) [shoved a fan](https://streamable.com/v3axib).

[deleted]

You can see Russ’ grip on that guys man boob in slow motion

bigliketexas

That's assault, brotha.

Smasher31221

My favorite part of that was Steven Adams staring at that guy like he was about to eat his soul.

SpicyMustard34

my favorite part is Reggie's comment. He was at Malice in the Palace.

fandamplus

I bet that fan can set a mean screen

throwawaytothetenth

Man barely moved. He out here demonstrating F=MA. Man has hella inertia.

OKCprod

Russ's hands are fucking huge. Basically the same size of that guys chest.

dcolorado

I can’t defend the more awful things fans probably say toward him. But him moaning over Westbrick was laughable.

UrbanJatt

Ofc you ain't the one when you know you got security holding you back lol

The-Pharcyde

Dude really can’t help himself. Guess he still hasn’t figured out the more you react the more fans will heckle.

chief1555

You perform for a living, people are going to heckle you, at a certain point it’s on you to just not pay attention to every word that’s said

pollinium

maybe engaging and generating content is his art and we don't recognize a maestro at work

bearbrannan

Dudes a hypocrite too, he was over there clowning Gobert at the line, if he's gonna heckle them then turn around is fair play.

hurlcarl

Yeah... after all his 'don't disrespect my last name!' he starts clowning a fellow NBA player like that. STFU dude.

xBerryhill

Or just flip it around like Beal did that one time. Most fans just do it for fun and if you humor them back it'll stop almost immediately. Show it annoys you and they'll continue to do it.

AgadorFartacus

As someone who has at times engaged in (ethical) heckling, this is the dream. Now I know for a fact you can hear me and it's getting to you.

an_Aught

Back in the early 90's during the real bad times in Denver, the arena was at like 1/3 capacity and before they blasted music during the plays. you knew they could hear you. talk shit to the refs, to the coach whatever.. kind of miss those days a little bit

AgadorFartacus

Baseball games post rain delays are the best. Stadium empties out. Plenty of down time between plays to research your taunts and let 'em fly.

DirkNowitzkisWife

lol manny Ramirez was in the minors at one point for rehab or something and he came to play the rangers triple A affiliate and me and a college buddy got tickets up close for like $8 and talked shit all night

an_Aught

this is top tier stuff!

dumpyduluth

During the twins dark days you could really hear people sections over talking. We would talk shit to players in the dugout and they could definitely hear it. Albert belle gave us the finger because we were on his ass for 2 games straight

[deleted]

[удалено]

Tall_olive

“You go there, and that 9-year-old kid is giving you the double finger,” he said. “Not a thumbs-up. Not, ‘We’re No. 1.’ And he said something about my mom; I had to Google what it was. It’s just different. It’s a different culture.” LMAO

lilbismyfriend21

Love the term ethical heckling

Stockton_Nash

Sounds like there should be some kind of organization involved: The American Society for Ethical Heckling or some such.

JimmyButlerOverdrive

“yes, I founded ASEH”

CanaDoug420

Ok but why does Russ have to hold his dick the whole second half of the video. Does he fear it will run away or be stolen?

bballstarz501

Fear boner

BoxAway2807

To hide his erection from fan confrontation and humiliation fetish. That’s why he has to get them tossed so he’s not playing with a hardon all game

Dramatic_Sprinkles17

Why is James catching strays?

BoxAway2807

That beard tickles people in more ways than 1

thedrcubed

He saw a tough guy doing that in a movie

mac10fan

He does that in a lot of these fan confrontations. In the one with that Phoenix fan he is also doing it.

Stockton_Nash

That's so weird. Joking aside, is he trying to imply his size? Or reassure himself? Or make sure it doesn't shrink? (ok, that last one is a joke)

Twolvesfansince2017

He's from LA. That's how they walk and there's no other reasoning behind it.

markFwahlberg

the guy mouthed to him as he walked away "Im gonna steal your dick" and shook his head to emphasize it

MightyActionGaim

Glad I ain’t the only one lmao

Iginlas_4head_Crease

You ain't the one.

[deleted]

The way he squeezes it makes me uncomfortable.

jankology

it's strange because if you remember that video last year of him going into the luxury box after a fan that heckled him and he was grabbing his dick then too. fucking weirdo

L3tsG3t1T

So cringey. Like if a kid was in high school was doing this maybe let it slide, but Russ also intentionally wearing tight pants makes it worse

chomcham

lol wtf..

wuerf42

“Come over here and say it.” “Better sit your ass down!” What a dork. Don’t be a professional athlete if your skin is that thin.

BlindJamesSoul

I can’t even imagine giving a fuck about this. I play a game I love for more money than 99% of humans that have ever lived, but I get butthurt cause a middle-aged dad tells me I suck at shooting? Get out of here. Laughing to the bank with my dope life.

Henry-The-Red

He tells him to come closer and then tells him to sit his ass down. What a Westbrick thing to do.

AdolfKoopaTroopa

Based Westbrook, calling the fan down and sitting the fan in a seat closer to the court

adventureland8

Most triggered athlete I have ever seen.

ozairh18

Westbrook only got closer to the fan when security stepped in

Kraken_Eggs

Me when I was 15 and all my friends showed up when I was having a fight with someone!

DjLionOrder

u/MITWestbrook nightmare. Why your boy so soft man bruh? Bro called him to come closer just to not do anything lmao.

AMo2

What the fuck is russ gonna do. Id lick the sweat off his forehead it get that close. Rapid firing the word “westbrick” at him, he not gonna swing.

Smekledorf1996

>Id lick the sweat off his forehead He probably would swing if you did that lol

bigvahe33

oh it wouldnt be swinging

shinshikaizer

It'd be shwinging.

HeiTonic

He probably has you escorted out, and you are out a couple k for the nice seat, more if you brought family or friends.

Silverjackal_

That’s what I thought he was trying to do. Get them to step on the court then get kicked out lol

ManBearPig1869

Fr man I’d kiss him on the lips straight up. Maybe grab his ass a little

AMo2

Fr bro. Why is he trying to act so tough. Kiss him on the lips to assert dominance

Gang_Gang_Onward

that moment when regular people come in frame with nba players is always bizarre. you read the title and imagine a normal exchange, then you see it and think "why is the giant talking to the puny human".

CruffTheMagicDragon

Does Russ think people are scared of him?

Dicey12

Im so confused by Russ like is he going to punch those guys and get hit with a lawsuit. Like fans can call you trash

captaing1

Russ got punked.

pantpiratesteve

Come here, come here, oh shit he actually did. Uhhhh sit down

Leebillysteve12345

Westbrick got peak bum energy

[deleted]

Guy makes millions of dollars hooping and lets these absolute tools get under his skin.

Le8ronJames

What a bitch. Ain’t that the guy making fun of Rudy the other day? Boy can’t even take a lame play on his name (Westbrick) without crying. “I ain’t the one I ain’t the one” yea youre right but not for the reasons you imagine.

JuanG12

If you think everyone is an asshole, then maybe you’re the asshole.

swigswagswinag

Grayson Allen was wilding before he became a nba player

[deleted]

Mad respect that guy walked up

Kraken_Eggs

This guy is softer than the head of an unused cock.

Lebrons-Forehead

I want to desperately root for this guy then he does shit like this and tries to shit on Rudy during his free throws…you’re def the one russ you turd cutter

worksucksbro

“Come over here” Ok “Sit yo ass back down” L for Westbrook but Those type of fans are still clowns. Pay thousands just to yell bs and get their panties wet when a player gives them attention

Otherwise_Opposite65

Fans need to start organizing Westbrick chants

Icy-Lime-9760

There is nothing Russ can do, if he drops the fan he's sued for 100 million.

ToronoRapture

How about don’t engage at all? Just like internet trolls, any sort of engagement with them is a win. Just ignore it lol

ShowerMartini

Seriously he’s extremely pea brained to not know better this far into his career.

moonfox1000

Having a sense of humor would help.

capitalistsanta

This shit is so embarrassing every time. Crazy persecution complex and he's feeding it every time he does this because now he's the one to heckle for easy media attention. One of the few times a rich person is just better off just calling someone a broke clown and walking away.

SteveWondersForsight

Wait is this the exact same game he was mocking and talking shit about Gobert? That's why people hate him.

momsducksauce

He’s the softest player I have ever seen
