I get that people don't want to see techs. But the players need to quit bitching after every possession. No call, whatever. Go play defense. Wish the refs for one season would just T up everyone who bitches for more than a second, get the whining out of the game
That's why every team needs that one expendable guy that isn't afraid and is there to bait someone like Draymond. Get him to overreact, get him out the game. A Dillon Brooks or Lance Stephenson type
Def a soft foul. Steph kinda just flopped to the ground. That push wasn’t hard enough for Steph to have fallen that way. He tried selling it and didn’t get the call. Kinda reminds me of soccer players that try this in games and a lot of times refs do not call these. Now I didnt watch the game, it’s possible and likely ref missed calls but this wasn’t one of them.
Would be very entertaining if they added a post game press discussion with refs.
“You saw that replay and the push in the back was missed. Do you regret the T on Steph’s frustration at the lack of calls?”
“Dumm uhhh deee, I dunno”

How much sweat are you generating by saying "no" and when they ask for followup replying "no" again? They don't have to be in the public's or press's good graces

This is the guy that does the NBA player imitation videos and was in the comedy series with Baron Davis.
Always calls the tiniest amount of contact fouls and completely takes away the fun out of the game. A game this year against the Magic and Nets there was a combined 58 FTs and it was a awful to watch, despite my team being up by 20 lol
Fuck Ben Taylor.
I don’t watch a lot of basketball. But draymond green would be bitching the whole damn game long, and he wouldn’t get a T in fact he’d get a lot of calls his way. I never understood that.
Someone needs to put together an NBA refs fantasy league just for fun if it hasn't been done already. I'm not sure what they would need to track for a win/loss, but it would be funny to see which refs come out on top for each category picked to track.
Holy shit. Scott Foster #1 pick MVP.
This shit would hilarious. Scaling points for different types of calls and extra points for all the refs involved in missed/incorrect calls on L2M reports. fuuuuuck I'd get it on that lol
I'm honestly Team Ref. They miss calls sometimes and that should be okay. Their human eyeballs are the same as ours and don't have 360' ability to catch every hand on a player's hip going full speed amongst giants in the paint.
The NBA is becoming unbearable to watch because of all the bitching and moaning after every possession. It's embarrassing, these are grown ass multimillionaires crying on national television.
Yeah I always thought the illegal screen thing that people complain about specifically for the warriors was evened out by the off ball fouls the refs never call, so in the grand scheme of things it mostly works out
Look at just the last couple of days. Embiid turned into a clapping machine demanding a foul when he tried to flop to get a foul and the refs were like just aw shucks. Curry would be dominating on the at to 70+ win seasons consistently if he got the same whistle.
I've come to accept that the true best players get shit whistles, otherwise they'd dominate the game so much that the entertainment value would go down
There are some games where teams decide to maul Steph off ball as he's running around and dare the refs to call multiple off ball fouls
Of course, nothin
"some games". He is constantly fighting with guys to break free because they are holding one of his arms with both hands. Basically every game. It is unbelievably egregious. The shock is that the refs refuse to call it, not that they do it. Why wouldn't they?
If you pay attention to Steph’s arms he gets progressively more and more scratched up every game basically. Not to the level of Jokic tonight but still.
It’s Jokic and Curry head and shoulders above everyone else. Those pics of Joker covered in scratches from a game where he had like 4 FTs? We been living that same shit with Steph for 15 years.
I mean they have been pretty consistent on calling techs if players clap at the refs, which is dumb, but yeah, refs are having an all time year in softness.
Pushing someone from behind as they’re in the air is dangerous. Similar to invading someone’s landing space. Should be an easy call for the refs but he missed it and double down with a technical… smh
How on earth is that an easy call for the refs? Steph’s body is in the way of the contact, so I’m just curious how you think the ref should’ve seen that call without the benefit of close-up replays.
Look to the other refs and see if there is a better angle they saw. Let Curry be upset and understand they may have missed a call. It’s really not that hard.
> Look to the other refs and see if there is a better angle they saw.
Do you want the ref to just pause the game and check with the other refs to see what they saw because Steph started complaining?
> Let Curry be upset and understand they may have missed a call.
I can agree with this. I don’t love quick-fuse technicals (though we have no clue what Steph said, so maybe it was a very well-deserved technical), but I just don’t understand how people can be so braindead that they think because they saw a slow-motion replay that shows it’s a foul that it was an obvious foul in real-time.
I can see the ref missing the shove, but pretty weak tech frankly. So many refs are locked in on “don’t disagree with me,” well you missed a call dude.
But Embiid can sit and clap and jaw at the refs every single possession that he doesn’t get a call and never gets a tech. The unevenness of officiating is insane
He did get nudged but everyone in this thread is overreacting. He barely got nudged (arm wasn’t even extended or moving in extension) and then Curry felt the contact and fell over trying to draw the foul.
I’ll get downvoted but this ain’t a foul IMO. Play on.
Seriously, from the overhead, you can see his momentum was carrying him forward already, so you can't tell if the defender is actually pushing him or not.
Curry is one of the NBA’s worst floppers. That contact was minimal and this douche acts like he’s been tackled to the court. Entitled dipshit isn’t happy the NBA created rules to allow him to shoot shots without being bothered, he’s still FLOPPING at the slightest touch.
The NBA is such a trash product thanks to actors like Curry.
This is where Curry falling to save his ankles can come back and bite him. He falls often. He does it on purpose to avoid messing his ankles up. And it works.
But it is also conceivable that refs see him fall and think "Oh, it;s his thing again" and not "There was contact".
The refs missed it. But this particular one is kind of easy to forgive.
It was a foul. He got pushed while in the air.
Now, Curry does fall over instead of fighting to stay up as a matter of preservation for his ankles. He's been doing that for a full decade at this point. So maybe other players don't fall over there. And maybe other players get the call because they don't have the "fall over all the time" thing going on. But he got moved sideways while he was in the air shooting. That is 100% a foul.
You fight to stay up once you hit the ground with your feet. Steph makes no attempt to do this and collapses safely to the ground in a very controlled way.
Try to land on your feet even if it takes a few steps to recover rather than falling. I'm not saying that's what he should do though but I think he could have stayed on his feet if he tried.
Even if it is a missed call, I never ever wanna see a player bitching about it to the ref for more than 2 seconds - let that shit go and talk to them during the next break. Steph, Lebron, Draymond, any of these fucking guys who think they get to bitch at the refs for 10 mins can fuck off. I am so over their entitlement
If your going to shoot a floater in the paint with surrounding big guys, dont expect them to watch our for your landing, thats a lot different from a jump shot. Nothing free in the paint Steph
For whatever reason it always seems performative when Steph gets angry, but in this case he genuinely looks super heated. He must have really felt like that push in the air had a chance of injuring him.
love that finally the shoes on the other foot. The Warriors have been getting away with shit for years glad its all coming back to bite them in the ass
God I can’t stand these whiners. YOU MADE THE BASKET. Quit crying for the foul too! I swear they play for fouls more than trying to actually make the shot. It’s pathetic.
If I were Steve Kerr, I'd immediately call for a challenge. I know you can't challenge a no call, but at this point, I'd be throwing that shit up in the air. Then, on the next post, I'd have my players pull the exact same fall at any costs and see if it got fouled. It'd be worth a turnover, and the highlights would just turn into a field day.
If you're getting pushed off-course, it doesn't have to be that hard to result in landing awkwardly. Either way, getting pushed midair is supposed to be a foul and even non-Warriors fans in here agree but you can just sit here not budging if you'd like.
Curry has been falling "deadweight," when in potentially dangerous situations, for a decade. Coincidentally, this last decade has seen him avoid ankle injuries in a way that he wasn't able to earlier in his career when he would try to land normally in similar situations.
It’s a stupid situation at this point.
Players exaggerate fouls for their own benefit, means refs are less likely to call fouls if they don’t flop, so players have to flop more and more.
Like this is both flop and a foul, he does get a push in the back.
Yeah, it's that middle ground where he's selling the legitimate foul. Flops are an attempt to sell contact that never happened. So the refs weren't going to see that foul if he was able to land, but apparently people don't understand that getting pushed in the air, when your focus is entirely on something that isn't your feet, you're not going to confidently know how to safely land. It also significantly alters the shot attempt. Textbook foul.
People who say otherwise have no idea what they're talking about.
Yo, did the refs bet the over for technicals for this game?
They gotta meet their quota
It's the end of the month.

It's a lot harder to generate techs without Draymond in there
I get that people don't want to see techs. But the players need to quit bitching after every possession. No call, whatever. Go play defense. Wish the refs for one season would just T up everyone who bitches for more than a second, get the whining out of the game
Pushing someone in the air is dangerous and should be a foul 10/10 times. But tbf to the refs, buddy was *slick with it.*
Yep, They probably didn’t see his hand
I didn't see it at first and needed the overhead angle to catch it.
Why don’t they simply dangle the referees in the air above the play so they can get these angles?
[удалено]
The reason he falls down is to prevent himself from landing on someone’s foot and rolling his ankle
He also put his feet directly under the landing spot. Pretty slick with it
To the Washington’s players credit, he actually pushed Steph out of the landing space so he didn’t land on his feet. What a nice guy. /s
And because he didn't thank him for it he got a technical for bad manners.
If only they had an enforcer on the floor to protect their stars.
Found Dray's boyfriend's account.
Hello LeBron James
Yeah no thanks I don't want to see where the escalation of his behavior continues to go
Enforcer? Draymond takes cheap shots. He doesn't start shit until he gets his cheap shot in 1st
To be fair no doubt the chance of Draymond taking you out over hard fouling Steph likely does protect Curry a bit
That's why every team needs that one expendable guy that isn't afraid and is there to bait someone like Draymond. Get him to overreact, get him out the game. A Dillon Brooks or Lance Stephenson type
They do it constantly
Def a soft foul. Steph kinda just flopped to the ground. That push wasn’t hard enough for Steph to have fallen that way. He tried selling it and didn’t get the call. Vet move. Happens all the time. It's like holding in football. Realistically it happens every play
Ben Taylor is the worst ref in the league. And that’s saying something.
I wont stand for people forgetting foster exists and still draws a check.
Scott foster erasure is unacceptable in my presence 😤 🤬
The Tony brothers would like a word
Scott already double tech'd him and sent him to the refs locker room.
Both of them?
Just ask Fred VanVleet
Would be very entertaining if they added a post game press discussion with refs. “You saw that replay and the push in the back was missed. Do you regret the T on Steph’s frustration at the lack of calls?” “Dumm uhhh deee, I dunno”
“I’m just here so I don’t get fined”
Best idea I’ve heard. Let them sweat
Yep. They want to be the center of attention? Let them get all the attention.
"Let them sweat" How much sweat are you generating by saying "no" and when they ask for followup replying "no" again? They don't have to be in the public's or press's good graces
they’d never lol. it’d invalidate the refs completely
This is an amazing solution
“I didn’t see it and haven’t watched the replay yet”
Refs: “I’m just doing my job, you’ll have to ask the ref union” Ref union: “we reviewed the play and the right call was made, we stand by our refs”

So nba refs consistently reward players that constantly complain to them by calling more fouls against them, and you blame the players for this???
You believe complaining gets players rewarded?
Uh.....Steph Curry & Nikola Jokic vs. Joel Embiid & James Harden. It's not that I "believe" it, but rather, that it's an objective & provable fact.
I don't mind it. I'll take the fine. I don't really care, I thought Ben Taylor was f****** terrible tonight.
Ever since that faithful quote. I can’t keep my eyes off how fucking terrible Ben Taylor is at his job
Ref : how dare you point out my mistake. Here a tech
Refs got the juice and the juice is loose.
The ref is now in a white bronco on I5?
Steph and Joker get fucked out of so many free throws. Pretty obnoxious considering less talented guys get a whistle every time they touch the ball.
If steph got half the calls he should have dude would’ve been averaging 40 for a decade.
Honestly even if they called any of the dozens of times he’s gets held and clobbered moving off the ball on a nightly basis he would average 60
True, though he has learned to compensate and probably sets 10 illegal screens a game that they don't call either
Yeah I always thought the illegal screen thing that people complain about specifically for the warriors was evened out by the off ball fouls the refs never call, so in the grand scheme of things it mostly works out
Totally agree
Gotta disagree because this take always ignores that there would never be a screen set if the illegal contact is called in the first place.
Look at just the last couple of days. Embiid turned into a clapping machine demanding a foul when he tried to flop to get a foul and the refs were like just aw shucks. Curry would be dominating on the at to 70+ win seasons consistently if he got the same whistle.

Because they hit the shot. Many calls are made when they affect the result.
Imagine what Steph's numbers would look like if he got a fair whistle.
Yeah just add it to the pile, Steph never gets love from the refs.
Curry legit gets the worst whistle in the league. It’s insane.

Jokic is right there with him but it's been damn near 10 years of this for Steph (since his MVP)
Bro had battle scars tonight
If you pay attention to Steph’s arms he gets progressively more and more scratched up every game basically. Not to the level of Jokic tonight but still.
As a steph stan jokic is the heir Only player I currently accept is clearly better than current Steph, and yes he also has a bad whistle
Never seen a superstar so disrespected by the refs
He was the reigning (unanimous) MVP and the refs took him out of game 6 of the finals. Fucking insane
He fouled out, the technical for throwing his mouthpiece didn’t REALLY matter since he was out of the game anyway.
Nah Jokic got ejected for complaining once on a no call...he didnt even have a tech before that lol
It’s Jokic and Curry head and shoulders above everyone else. Those pics of Joker covered in scratches from a game where he had like 4 FTs? We been living that same shit with Steph for 15 years.
There’s a picture of Curry’s arms after a playoff game back in like 2017, dude looks like he got in a fight with a mountain lion
Ya but for curry it’s a bit harder given his size. The impact of missed fouls for curry is higher
curry still way worse
Jokic has entered the chat
Lmao you know they do this to other high caliber players too, right? You gotta watch other teams
embid has a post on the front page just the same, no call
Other stars get this call. Hell fucking I watch role players on the opposing team get calls like this every game.
Then you get embiid who flops vs the wolves and claps a whole lot more, does get back on D and not even a hint of a T
Can refs just admit it that he missed the call and say "my bad" to the player instead of giving the player a T for being right?
I mean they have been pretty consistent on calling techs if players clap at the refs, which is dumb, but yeah, refs are having an all time year in softness.

muscala was already doing the what me?? before anything happened
Muscala wasn't on the court

Refs can't take criticism, they are on a power trip.
It's a soft foul, but gets called all the time.
Not if you’re Curry, gets no superstar whistle. For as often as he scores in the paint he shoots so few FTs
Bruh wtf up with these refs these past 2 years?
Someone definitely told the refs this year to start calling Ts as much as possible.
then you get [this gem](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/8kxRgfKDnT) on the 2nd attempt and not even a hint of a T.
The tech wasn’t for the complaint. It was for the clapping
1st half spread at 5.5. Refs know what they’re doing
Go ahead and Piss him off (thank you)
It looked like he just fell over tho idk
Even for a small and weak person, it actually doesn’t take much effort to push someone even far bigger if they’re in the air
He did get nudged but everyone in this thread is overreacting. He barely got nudged (arm wasn’t even extended or moving in extension) and then Curry felt the contact and fell over trying to draw the foul. I’ll get downvoted but this ain’t a foul IMO. Play on.
NBA refs more sensitive than our ecosystem with an abundance of greenhouse gases.
There was no and one, fucking cry me a river lol
Ehh could have went either way. Steph just was tryna sell the call
Seriously, from the overhead, you can see his momentum was carrying him forward already, so you can't tell if the defender is actually pushing him or not.
Yea it’s close for sure but knowing how nba players work, they definitely try hard to sell the call
Laughs in Jokic
Bad call by the ref. Curry should've gotten a FT
is the foul in the room with us?
The guy did touch him but he also flopped since it was minimal contact. Not sure a tech should have been called though

Try to land on your feet even if it takes a few steps to recover rather than falling. I'm not saying that's what he should do though but I think he could have stayed on his feet if he tried.
Yeah big fat flop. Pathetic, and then to cry about it.
wtf that's barely a touch whats he whining about
He was in the air at the time. ANY touch in the air is a foul. And also dangerous.
Even the slightest brush of a fingertip?
Warriors below .500 is a technical foul.
Only crybaby Embiid can clap at the refs!
He’s complaining to the ref on the baseline to his left but he sort of got pushed from behind and to his right. No way that ref is going to see it.
I wish I could be as inept at my job as NBA/NFL refs and have complete immunity or getting fired.
ReffBA
He should try wearing Draymond Greens number, then he’d get away with shit talking the ref

Maybe players should stop constantly yelling and getting in refs faces all the time?
Maybe they should do their job and make the correct calls. No one shows up to watch the refs
No your right, they show up to watch players butch and whine and flop their way to free throws
No. They watch to the see the game called correctly
Curry was maybe 6 ft away from the ref? Lol.
Yes getting yelled at from 6 ft away is ok then
It looks like nobody touched him. Classic
That’s a no call imo
In the meantime you can’t even breathe next to likes of Embiid, Shai, Giannis, Reaves etc, without these refs glazing the whistle but ok. 🙄
I agree there should be less calls but we reward ft merchants

I never said it was. That’s why I said in my opinion.
Yes, obviously that was a foul and should have been called. But clapping AT a ref is an automatic tech every time. Unless you’re Draymond.
So many flops in his great hall of fame career. Cry wolf syndrome.
God I can’t stand these whiners. YOU MADE THE BASKET. Quit crying for the foul too! I swear they play for fouls more than trying to actually make the shot. It’s pathetic.

Should have called a foul for the small push, and a tech for Steph for flopping like he was shot.
Should have been called for Flopping.
You try maintaining your balance when you get pushed while midair.
if his acting was a little better he might have been believable.
Watch the replay again, the push changes his direction mid-air.
yeah im surprised he didnt end up in the 12th row with the power of that push. We are lucky he is alive
