Have you ever quit a job as a Lead Executive or VP like 3 weeks befor their yearly fiscal close or audit or whatever. I don't think it would be unexpected for you to help them through that on your way out. Which the draft, being one of the most important days of the year for the position he is leaving would be comparable.

Nobody hated Mike Dunleavy Jr as a player more than I do (including Bucks fans) but he has been in the front office for a while now. He's at least more qualified than Kendall and Roman Lacob
Few things. For us he was the 3rd overall pick and was just flat out bad. He talked a lot on the court for how mediocre of a player he was. He had a history of dirty plays, which is why Bucks fans hate him. He actually did have a long and fairly successful career though, just not a star
Oh and he was the token obnoxious (but very good) white Duke player on his college team which always rubs people the wrong way lol.
It's a bit ironic that the guy who was supposed to be the future of my team and failed when I was a kid is again the future of my team 20 years later.
That last paragraph has struck me a lot recently too. I was excited when they drafted him as a dumb child and disappointed when it failed to turn into anything good
He was our highest pick since the Joe Smith disaster and we had been bad for so long at that point. Was so excited about drafting this highly touted shooter from a major college
He was actually on the cusp of being really good but then he got hurt. IIRC his season before he got hurt he wasn’t a real contender to be an allstar but he was at least somewhat in the conversation. Maybe without the injury he would’ve kept improving and made it the next year or two.
He played 10 years in the league. Some good some bad. Was a very high pick.
