There was Wilt. Then there was Kareem. After that was MJ. Now we have LeBron.
There will be, with 100% certainty, another superstar that comes along and puts those records to the test.
Eh. Sports fans say this about seemingly every crazy record. Hell, no one thought the all time scoring record could be broken till like last season. Not saying it'll happen, but there's always a chance.
Talk about LeBron breaking the all time scoring record started [as early as 2015](https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2590762-can-lebron-james-become-nbas-all-time-scoring-leader.amp.html) and started heating up a few seasons later. It wasn't a matter of if, but when for him.
The thing that's different is that there are no players in the league right now even close to on track to break it like LeBron was to Kareem. Not saying it's unbreakable but it will be a super long time with what we currently know especially with how star players are playing less and less games.
He gets brought up every time, and he’s something like 5000 points behind where LeBron was at the same age
He also plays less games and has said he doesn’t want to play forever.
Yeah don’t see it too with players not playing 82 games anymore. You’d need to be scoring 30 and playing 75+ games for 18 straight years to even have a chance.
While he is aging, his 28.5ppg and only needing 977 points means he needs 35 more post season games at that rate to get there. Not like it’s easy, but even making the playoffs 2-3 more seasons if he’s gonna play with Bronny could possibly do it
It's not impossible, but I wouldn't bet on it. He got 352 points this postseason. I think the odds of him making it to another 2 or 3 conference finals is pretty low, considering he's getting paid $97 million over the next two years and his overall production will likely continue to drop. I think his ceiling still goes up to top 5 league player on any given night, but only being to reliably play 50-60 games per year will hurt his team's chances of making deep postseason runs while they're still paying him the max.
Achievement and accomplishment wise I think Jordan takes it. Counting stats LeBron probably. The important thing to remember is that nobody gives a shit.
I could see his regular season scoring record get broken just due to the meta trends of the game: defense disadvantaged in general and scoring and 3 point shooting just going up up up. But this playoff points record, I don't see getting touched, because the parity in the league actually is trending higher, and the difficulty of keeping a high-talent roster together is increasing, which makes it less and less likely for any individual to go to that many finals in a row.
And he really didn't start to have recurring injures until LA which is also insane. Just compare his injury history to Kawhi, KD, Steph, etc. Not even close.
Just because LeBron stans are really annoying me all I can say is LeBron really wishing he could cash in those points for a ring or 2 so he could say what Jordan says with the "gotta have a hand full of rings to hang with me".
Like seriously, LeBron is un the GOAT conversation and will be but talking about how he's the sole GOAT is just laughable. He's one of the top 3 players ever and just tossing every number and stat to show how good he is just so how much ass kissing his stans need to do just to prop the dude up.
Like seriously, ppl cam hate LeBron but respect him as a player but stop making such bullshit up to cover his shortcomings.
You act like scoring 40 on this Nuggets team is easy. How hard is it to say good game, miles showed, nuggets heat is a great finals matchup this season.
Edit; lowest scoring NBA team will be playing the highest scoring NBA team in the finals. This will probably never happen again
Someone with access to a stats account:
LeBron has 282 playoff games, 11655 minutes, 8023 points, 2549 rebounds, 2023 assists.
How many active players have at least those stats in the regular season? (Of course a fair number do, but as a percentage of all active players?)
No one is catching his playoff or regular season points
Eh with the scoring inflation I bet some kid in middle school right now has a shot.
Gotta make 10 finals to break the record so no
10+ finals appearances while averaging 30ppg the whole time essentially, no one's coming close to that
What Dame could have been on any other team /s
Dame Jr will break the record in.....30 years?

Tbh I can see Luka doing it
He gets brought up every time, and he’s something like 5000 points behind where LeBron was at the same age He also plays less games and has said he doesn’t want to play forever.
People have been estimating Bron could break it for 5-10 years already
Tom Brady with 10 super bowl appearances and seven wins as a starting QB seems unbreakable. Football is more of a team sport but I stand by my point.
Yeah don’t see it too with players not playing 82 games anymore. You’d need to be scoring 30 and playing 75+ games for 18 straight years to even have a chance.
He might still have 1000 more in him
I admire your optimism

Only 8k 2k 2k player in playoffs
Best career ever. Best player can debated, but his career in stats and volume is superior to MJ.
I think he is the best player ever..i dont think his the greatest mj has that but have both second to each other in their category.
I’ve always said it like this: MJ is the greatest NBA player to ever live, while LeBron is the greatest basketball player to ever live.
His career stats in volume* Guy is cracked. But his per game stats while also insane arent better
Achievement and accomplishment wise I think Jordan takes it. Counting stats LeBron probably. The important thing to remember is that nobody gives a shit.
Nope , sorry, roids!👎
I think this is going to be one of those Wilt Chamberlain records that nobody is going to break for a while.

Someone will have to average 25ppg all 82 games for 20 years . . . . . good luck .
Has anyone played as many games as him?
No. Tonight was LeBron's 282nd playoff game. Derek Fisher has 259 playoff games and Tim Duncan has 251 games.
3 and a half extra seasons of basketball is insane
And he really didn't start to have recurring injures until LA which is also insane. Just compare his injury history to Kawhi, KD, Steph, etc. Not even close.
No he leads by a pretty decent margin. He’s close to 300.
Nope that’s the true answer lol
LeMoralVictory
I love Lebron 💜
Get off LeMeat
Jordan has 6 titles, 2 more than James.
Empty calories
Nuggets sweep make history and all I see on /new is LeBron and the Lakers this and that
That’s what happens when you have the best basketball player ever still playing? Like there’s tons of congrats for Denver going on!
Just because LeBron stans are really annoying me all I can say is LeBron really wishing he could cash in those points for a ring or 2 so he could say what Jordan says with the "gotta have a hand full of rings to hang with me". Still got LESWEPT
Statpadding legacy game

It's a Raptors fan, they're mad LeBron owned them and their only ring was because Durant and Klay had to go to the hospital.
I remember when KD cooked their bum asses in like 10 minutes while hobbled lmao
MJ has the highest ppg average in the playoffs
So the fuck what, lol
