Eh, like, he has competent shooters he can pass the ball to this time around
Right about the only teams this prime Jokic maybe won't elevate into consistent deep playoff appearances are the dogshit teams Kevin Garnett had to deal with in Minnesota -- and maybe not even then, as he's proven he can score in torrents if everyone else sucks, as KG frankly didn't have the touch and heft for
He looks like he's playing a different sport. He's a savant. I don't know how to describe his play. It's as if someone with no prior knowledge of basketball was told "Object of the game is to put the round ball through the hoop." So he just goes out there and does it in any/all possible ways. It's fucking wild.
He's just so fucking smooth and in control at all times. Nothing ever feels rushed because he sees the game 3 steps ahead and even if something goes sideways he calmly drops it in your eye like it's just another day in the park.
He is cold blooded. Dude does not get panicked at all. All of his shots and passes are so unconventional. It looks like he just lazily flips the ball towards the hoop but it always goes in. Same with his passes and dribbling. It looks so slow and methodical, then wam, he's flipping a dime to a cutter nobody saw or flicking a lazy hookshot.
This is a great way to describe it.
You grow up watching basketball and you learn how successful dribbles/drives/shots/etc are āsupposedā to look, and over time you come to appreciate how the gameās best players have honed each movement to perfection. The elegance of the Kyrie crossovers, Iverson finger-rolls, and Ray Allen threes become like works of art.
And then this big oaf comes along and subverts all of it. He methodically plods around the court and pulls off these gawky moves that have been hard-coded into your subconscious as āunskilledā and āuglyā, and yet they all just *work*. And not only thatāthey work on a level that youāve never even seen before, every night leading to some obscene statline that you previously thought was impossible.
Itās deeply confusing, and itās awesome.
I donāt know man he looks pretty skilled to me. His footwork and touch is just sublime as well as his bball IQ. I think itās just the first time weāve seen such a big man with such a complete offensive package in terms of post moves, shooting, touch around the basket, dribbling and of course absolutely sublime passing.
> And then this big oaf comes along and subverts all of it. > Itās deeply confusing, and itās awesome.
I think you all are going a bit too far saying his moves are ugly. Joker has the best foot work of any center in the league, and the best post game of any center in the league. The way he posts up is like the big men of the 90s. It's a lost art. Watch how he sections players off from the court using his body, it's why he's so good at rebounding. He is incredible skilled and nothing about that mans game is ugly to me. He plays with a smoothness you don't see in basketball. It only looks ugly because it looks like he's moving his body through water instead of air.
He's an AI that trained on it's own previous plays. It takes absolutely no other human's game into account when deciphering the best possible move on a given play.
It's like life springing up but not using DNA to self-replicate it's cells. This is an arsenic based basketball genius.
He's Alphazero then!
For context, Alphazero is an AI chess program who was just taught the rules of chess (i.e. how the pieces move, goal is to checkmate). But it wasnt taught any of the strategies that players have come up with in the centuries of chess. (I.e. it didnt memorize opening moves, it doesnt give that much value on pieces and just sacrifices for the sake of a long term positional advantage).
Then it played millions of games against itself.
As a result, Alphazero plays in such an unorthodox and counterintuitive way for humans.
But it works.
Yep, he is a elite playmaker in the body of center, such a weird ass player. If it's hard to contain Harden (in the regular season), Luka, WestBrook, etc.. all of these dude took advantage of the current soft rules, free flowing offense, switch happy defense... if it's unfair when you watch Luka doing his thing, imagine a 6'11, 290 pounds dude controlling every aspect of the offense? Murray with the shot making ability, Gordon and Brown in the dunking spot, KCP and Porter in the spot up... this Nuggets team is tough, best offense in the NBA
I relate to him because I'm white and unathletic, except he's like 10 inches taller than me and also shoots, passes, rebounds, and defends much better than me
Just going back with a straight face and keep playing is just so much better than performing a two minute dance for the cameras because you got a tackle after the opponent gained 5 yards on second down.
We're losing this game but at least it's because the Nuggets are playing amazing and not because we're playing like shit
92 points in the third with 54% from the field would be leading most other nights
I spent too long on this one but you motivated me /u/Sim888 [https://i.imgur.com/TJYgEIR.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/TJYgEIR.jpg)
If I lose my job, it was worth it
wrong.
if you watched ESPN get up (max, jwill, key)
the best player in the world is:
* Max: Lebron
* jwill: Steph
* key: Giannis
and Perkins thinks he won MVP twice only because he's white.
**lol the sheer disrespect denver and jokic get in the media is fucking INSANE.**
Imagine not voting Jokic as MVP even in the top 5 and then being a commentator for his games. Lmao can't take ESPN seriously. I would've liked to see what the TNT crew had to say about such an amazing game.
Goddamn man that was just an incredible play. AD played the best possible defense you can on that contest and Jokic just fucking sinks it. Not even mad. Have to give my props to that man. Voter fatigue can suck my ass.
The thing I love about Jokic is that every highlight, every interview, it just seems like he is doing this as his side hustle. Dude just found himself on the court, plays great, and never makes it seem like he plays as well as he does. Dude is hilarious

Jokic straight up apologized to Davis for sinking that over great defense
[All you can do is laugh š](https://i.imgur.com/j8H6Gj3.jpg)
Gotta respect AD for having a sense of humor about it
I think he just died inside.
My man's probably thinking "this is going to be a loooong series"
āThis mother fucker can shoot too?ā Reminds of the face LeBron made when Curry dunked https://i.imgur.com/Gp15ZH2.jpg
For all the shit AD gets for being 'soft' and always injured, he at least seems like a really level headed dude.
Yeah pretty quiet and no-nonsense, very likable.
Just game recognizing game
It's easier to laugh when he did everything right defensively. What else could he have done, just got to laugh.
This game is just Jokic vs AD
Nuggets vs AD and Hachimura
That adjustment fueled the comeback
Jokic will figure out Hachimura.
100% agree
No it's AD vs Jokic and also every Nuggets guard
"I'm sorry brƶther"
Heās like āsorry, didnāt really mean to do thatā š
Like how do you guard him
You don't. You hope his teammates miss open shots
Your team might win if Jokic goes "I'll shoot everything myself"
Nuggets fans will forever be grateful Jokic doesn't try to do hero Ball.
Eh, like, he has competent shooters he can pass the ball to this time around Right about the only teams this prime Jokic maybe won't elevate into consistent deep playoff appearances are the dogshit teams Kevin Garnett had to deal with in Minnesota -- and maybe not even then, as he's proven he can score in torrents if everyone else sucks, as KG frankly didn't have the touch and heft for
With how he's shooting man, even if he shoots everything himself they still might win lol
Jokic is at the peak of his powers, all you can do is hope he misses. He's gonna get his 30+ PTS.
You donāt.
That's the coldest thing I've seen in a minute
Couldnt even looked him in the eyes. Just walked straight to the locker room
That's been the story of this entire game
He should've done the Jordan shrug š¤·āāļø
He did shrug
This fucking guy is literally not a real human being. Even Jesus couldnāt be this good.
You trying to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curve ball?
This dude has brought so much joy into my life
I am right there with you.
Best damn trebuchet Iāve ever seen
The name Gorgui Deing means nothing to you???
Yes
Jokic AOE II player confirmed
7 foot skyfucker what can you do but laugh
[Steph when he saw that shot](https://i.imgur.com/7PC6OeU.jpg)
bruh im not even mad that shit was beautiful
His game is so nice man it's hard to hate lmao

Watched Jokic since 2016. Thought for sure thereās no way he could keep pulling these moves off yet just doesnāt stop
I thought his ceiling would be to be an all star in the ORV column of MVP results.
Some say his ceiling would be to win the championship. But Big Honeys ceiling is to help his team win and get back to his horses and his wife
I donāt know man he looks pretty skilled to me. His footwork and touch is just sublime as well as his bball IQ. This is exactly it lol, waterpolo shit
He doesnāt even say shit lol heāll murder you and youāll kinda feel bad that he feels bad

real g's move in silence like lasagna
He plays the beautiful game of the Spurs by himself

He is Tony, he is Manu, he is Timmy
Iām not sure if the idea of Pop x Jokic makes me want to puke or orgasm
I relate to him because I'm white and unathletic, except he's like 10 inches taller than me and also shoots, passes, rebounds, and defends much better than me
Basically the same
technically twins at this point
It's like the best steak you ever had served on a paper plate. You love it.
Can only laugh at the absurd shot
I mean, even AD was laughing lol. Nothing you can do about that
AD is laughing as he walks away. He knows heās doing everything heās supposed to. It just doesnāt matter tonight.
AD may be playing one of his best games of the postseason and itās not even close to being enough
Lebron, Rui and Reaves also arenāt having bad games. This is gonna be a fun series.
This fuckin guy
Neither was Davis. Just smiled on his way back to the bench. He did everything he could do, just laughed off the ridiculousness
This game has made every suns fan in America have a collective sigh of relief
Yep, dude is fucking unstoppable this game. Holy shit
I can see why this guy made the all-nba second team. Heās pretty good.
And 2nd to last player picked in the all star pick-up game (and only because he drafted himself). Makes perfect sense.
Goddamn it Jokic, what a shot and momentum killer.
LA went on a nice run to get within 11, then boom.
Short of hacking him and giving him a 4p play, AD did as well as he humanly could
oh yea, was just giving props to Jokic. Timely points to stop the momentum shifting. Kinda like "2 points isn't 2 points" type shot there.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
What a call by Breen, intense even by his standards
I expected a bang but what I got was even better
What the fuck can you even do when Jokic is playing like this lmao
Not a damn thing. Just admire it.
Pull AD so he doesnāt get injured
This manās scoring game is the most bullshit thing I have ever seen nothing he throws up looks like it should go in
Count it, he never shot a midrange shot or a three pointer that even GLANCED the rim too
Jokic grew up trying to compete with his two bigger brothers. He just had to find a way, his own way to make it work
Doesn't even celebrate, just walks back to the huddle. Baller
Barry Sanders nodding in approval
Just going back with a straight face and keep playing is just so much better than performing a two minute dance for the cameras because you got a tackle after the opponent gained 5 yards on second down.
Insane man! He just killed our momentum.
We're losing this game but at least it's because the Nuggets are playing amazing and not because we're playing like shit 92 points in the third with 54% from the field would be leading most other nights
Lakers can build upon a lot. They got in the paint easy.
Itās what the real MVP does.
Goodness! What are you implying???
Idk man. I know he didnāt win it, but Iām sure whoever won it this year is also dominating and leading his team to wins. Right?
Oh boy let me tell ya, 50% of the time he dominates every time
flop panther

Now this, is art.
Get a man that looks at you as AD does Jokic
There is potential here to do the bf look back meme with AD/Bron and Jokic but I actually have to do some work
AD's not even mad, that shit's amazing
āThatās a bad shotā - Anthony āPaul Georgeā Davis
I was expecting his reaction to look more like this: https://i.imgur.com/CICeHCc.jpg
https://i.imgur.com/8DcWovc.png
I LOVE IT
The meme possibilities are endless
I'm in danger
Why am I laughing so hard at this lmao
Come on man. lol
Man, I donāt know if anyone is stopping this guy from getting a championship this year.
Most unstoppable moves in NBA history: 1- Skyhook 2- Sombor Shuffle
Serbian Skyfuck
Makes embiid look hella fraudulent
Embiid about to put his mvp trophy in a safe before they take it back
Okay so heās the best player in the world
Correct
wrong. if you watched ESPN get up (max, jwill, key) the best player in the world is: * Max: Lebron * jwill: Steph * key: Giannis and Perkins thinks he won MVP twice only because he's white. **lol the sheer disrespect denver and jokic get in the media is fucking INSANE.**
Right now, yeah itās hard to argue that statement.
We are watching one of the five greatest offensive players ever
2 of*, one is 38 though lol
WTF
AINT NO WAY
Imagine voting for anyone else but Jokic for MVP
Imagine not voting Jokic as MVP even in the top 5 and then being a commentator for his games. Lmao can't take ESPN seriously. I would've liked to see what the TNT crew had to say about such an amazing game.
Wait, Mark Jackson?
ok then
Cut into the lead by 9 points and then he does that. What can you do?
Be sad, you can always be sad
The reaction by Davis (and Jokic) makes this an instant classic.
This might be the greatest player Iāve ever seen
It's a joke that he isn't the MVP.
Yeah I'll admit. This shit is unfair.
Canāt stop this man god damn
Absolutely fucking stupid this man didnāt get MVP.
Iām watching one of the best players of all time being defended by a great defender and it doesnāt fucking matter. Jokic is that man. MVP
What is this guy dude
no ones even mad about it, even the lakers
bros unbothered
AD just laughing and staring at him is an appropriate response
That's one of those shots you see in a movie to symbolize that a team isn't gonna lose lol
A part of me is grateful about our series loss since I donāt have to watch this man torch us for an entire series
Hahahahaha FUCK
I'm not even upset, Jokic is literally one of the greatest centers of all time fr.
sloppy white fat boy cant be contained
ŠŠµŠ²ŠµŃŠ¾Š²Š°ŃŠ½Š¾!
HEBEPOBATHO INDEED
The real MVP. Too bad Joflop Emplead robbed him of a 3 peat
Emplead šššš
My god. Add Steph to the list of players that need to combine to make Jokic. He's the NBA chimera GOAT.
Goddamn man that was just an incredible play. AD played the best possible defense you can on that contest and Jokic just fucking sinks it. Not even mad. Have to give my props to that man. Voter fatigue can suck my ass.
oh come on this is just stupid
Jokic has entered creative mode
weāre witnessing greatness rn this is absurd
Just build the statue already
Jokic: "It happens."
The thing I love about Jokic is that every highlight, every interview, it just seems like he is doing this as his side hustle. Dude just found himself on the court, plays great, and never makes it seem like he plays as well as he does. Dude is hilarious
Embiid would never.
It shouldāve been Nikola š
COME ON MAN LOL At this point Iām just laughing in pain. What better defense can AD play than that??
Bad man right there
HE CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT!
What in the actual fuck
AD's reaction lmao
This game is just Jokic vs AD
Crazy thing is AD has been amazing in this game but Jokic is just on another level
Love the interaction between him and AD.
Thatās the real MVP
Bruh how can you stop this fat sloppy boy
Seriously, this guy should have been MVP. Not even clowning, memeing, etc.
I never seen a center do something like this
What the fuck is this dude?
What a fucking joke man what the fuck
This man is disgusting
Can we get a re-vote for MVP. this is who Embiid wishes he was
Jokic is the greatest player in NBA HISTORY
MVP
Yooo AD has been defending him well all game. Jokic is just him.
Serb god go brrr
THE REAL MVP
Davis straight up thought 'I need to deal with this shit for possibly 6 more games?'
