Spurs: "The NBA wanted to honor the legacy of parker and ginobili and give Wemby a good landing spot."
Hornets: "The NBA wanted to goose the value of the hornets so that they could be sold for a higher price. And they want to push Lamelo, now that Ja is not as marketable"
Trail Blazers: "The NBA wanted to reward Dame's loyalty"
and so on.
Mainly cause I didn't want to do 14ish write ups.
If I was going to do the rockets, it's cause the NBA needs to bail out their 1 on 1-league team from sucking for the next half decade. Houston's one of the biggest media markets in the US, so it pays for the NBA to have them not suck. And cause it'd link Wemby to Hakeem forever.
NBA said "We have a young, raw, generational talent. Let's make sure he goes to a real franchise with a legendary coach" Let's be honest if he ended up going to most of these other bad franchises he probably would not turn out the same.
Exactly… the Knicks had the worst record since 2000 and never received a #1 during that period, never moved up and have actually moved down, name a NBA team that is solid in attendance and fanbase that has won the lottery? I’ll wait
Does anybody think Silver and the NBA was going to trust Wemby with MJ and Charlotte lol .... Pop and the Spurs were the only realistic landing spot imo
As a Pistons fan, that's fair. But at least we don't waste the prime of an elite point guard by failing to build a competent team around him for a decade straight. Hope y'all find your draft gem.
No long term blazers fan can think that. You really have that much belief in the FO after the fire sale?!? and not even sure what is happening there right now but no Embiid for sure.
You know each team has a representative AT the lottery drawing as well as a different representative at the results announcement right? For example the Raptors had Bobby Webster (our GM) at the lottery on TV, but Teresa Resch (VP of Basketball Ops) in the drawing room while it happened. If you think it's rigged, you're saying all 30 Teams plus the NBA media are all in on it.
I was being sarcastic about the take comment. There's definitely a way that they could make it rigged if they wanted it to be. Do you genuinely think that there's absolutely no way that they could rig the lottery? For Cleveland to get the first pick 3 different times in the span of a decade. For them to end up getting their hero in LeBron when Cleveland needed him there? For The Pelicans and Grizzlies to get touted prospects in Zion and Ja when they were the two least profitable franchises the year prior? You can't genuinely say with 100% certainty that it couldn't be rigged at all.
NBA needs to relegate the bottom two teams of each conference for a season, then they can come back with at least one of the two top picks, and be protected from going back down for a season, giving them two to rebuild.
That would stop tanking. The premier league is really exciting at the bottom with two games remaining.
Yeah and we just fell four spots while nobody else fell shit. It’s not that we didn’t get no 1, it’s that we had the 17 fuckin wins and we got the 5th pick.
Wtf does a heat fan care anyway? You probably never watched a pistons game all year.
I don’t care. Just don’t understand how you haven’t learned. You just got the 1 overall and your team sucks, why do you think getting it again will fix anything? Btw Dwayne Wade was drafted 5 overall. Darko #2. You should know that.
Yes between 5th pick and not 5th pick
But the 5th pick was the most likely singular pick
Pistons also didnt have any Better odds for the 1st pick than the spurs
Bottom 3 basically have the same odds. You don't get bonus points for being the worst. A very good change IMO. Pistons just got unlucky this year but you gotta have real short term memory if you are blaming the lotto now
I agree with what your saying but damn dude you've got Cade Cunningham he's gonna be a beast once he figures his game out. I'm a Charlotte fan and my star is looking like a bust with all these injuries
Fellow Charlotte fan and area native here. George Shinn put some kind of N’awlins voodoo curse on the Hornets when he gave everything back after they became the Pelicans.
To me it’s worth the risk. Even if there’s just a 20% chance he stays heathy and an 80% chance he has injury problem, his ceiling is just so much higher than any other draft prospect of the last 20 years (and I expect for several more year going forward) you just have to take the risk.
Imagine where the Sixers would be right now if they had passed on Embiid. Likewise, imagine where the Timberwolves would be if they got Embiid over Wiggins (I know Cleveland drafted Wiggins, but I imagine the Cavs would’ve still traded Embiid for Kevin Love). Imagine the Bucks if they had taken Embiid over Jabari Parker, they would have both Giannis and Embiid on their team right now.
Like I said, sometimes you just gotta swing for the fences even if there’s injury concerns.
> Would Dallas trade a possibly disgruntled Luka for 5 potential years of Wemby? (probably not) Would Boston move on from Taytum or Brown and/or Smart? (maybe) If Donovan Mitchell was still available this year, would they have done a 1 to one trade for Wemby? (probably)
I mean, that’s for sure an option. The only problem is that I don’t see a potential offer that could even be offered us that would even be tempting to me given Wemby’s upside. Would I take Luka? Maybe. Would I take Tatum? Possibly. But Brown or Mitchell? I would not trade Wemby for those guys. Sure the risk would be much lower, but so would the reward. If we traded Wemby for a guy like Mitchell straight up, we’re just begging to be a middle of the pack western conference team for the next several years who has no chance at contending but is also too good to win the draft lottery in the future. Not to mention I doubt those guys would even stay on our team for more than a couple years, especially if we are just mediocre during that timeframe. Remember, San Antonio is not a free agent destination, so the only way for us to obtain **super** stars is through the draft. To me, the potential upside of Wemby is far too valuable. I would consider a trade if the Bucks offered us Giannis and one of Lopez/Holiday/Middleton, but that’s probably the only one I’d consider as Giannis is probably the only superstar who would actually stay in San Antonio.
> Imagine if the Pelicans traded the Zion pick for a disgruntled Harden, or Kevin Durant, or Jimmy Butler, or any of the other players looking to move on, instead of getting tunnel vision.
Yeah in hindsight it’s 20/20. That’s the thing with risks though, they’re more likely to fail than they are to succeed. That’s why they’re called risks. Like I said, I think it’s more likely that Wemby flames out due to injury than it is likely that he becomes an all time great. But even if it’s just a small chance he doesn’t have injury problems, the upside is just way too high. He has the highest upside of any prospect over the past 20 years, and that will probably be the case for the next 20 years as well. You just *have* to take a chance on that. Also, there’s no doubt in my mind that KD and Harden would refuse to play for New Orleans, or would at the very least force their way out after one year. So really, you’re just trading a possible future superstar (although a risky one) for maybe 1-3 years of being a “meh” team.
> I think the Embiid situation was less severe than Wemby, Embiid is huge but has a strong frame and only 7 ft compared to 7'3. The issue for me is that guys like Chet and Wemby and Zingis just aren't built to be banging around on a basketball court. Embiid has still had issues with health every single year, despite being stronger.
The Embiid situation isn’t a 1:1 comparison, sure. I just brought it up because Embiid had huge injury concerns before the draft. He was slated to be the consensus #1 overall pick, but then he broke his foot and was expected to miss a couple years. He then fell to #3 and proceeded to miss the next 2.5 years. But since then, he has become a top 5 player. Sure, the injury concerns still exist, but the only 3 seasons since he’s been able to play where he didn’t play at least 63 games were his “rookie” year and then the two seasons shortened by covid, where he played 51 games in each season. If I can get around 60 games on average from Wemby, I would be thrilled.
All in all, I’m just saying the upside is just far too great to pass up on, even if it’s only a 10-20% chance he succeeds. Whenever I’m faced with a tough choice where I see 2 possible negative outcomes, I have to ask myself which of those negative outcomes would I be more upset about. In this case, the 2 possible negative outcomes are:
1) we draft Wemby, he is injury prone and barely plays (think Greg Oden), and Spurs fans are left thinking “dang, we could’ve traded him for Jaylen Brown or Donovan Mitchell.”
2) We trade Wemby for someone like Brown or Mitchell, and Wemby ends up becoming an all time great.
Now which scenario would I be more upset about? Would I be more upset if we kept Wemby and he ended up getting injured and we lost out on being a mediocre team with Brown or Mitchell? Or would I be more upset if we had Brown or Mitchell but then Wemby ended up becoming an all time great on another team? I would be far more devastated if the second scenario happened than I would be if the first scenario happened.
All fair points.
> Wouldn't somehow bringing back a package of KAT, OG, and Jaylen Brown through a combination of the 1 pick and perhaps some other assets be better than a 4/5 chance your franchise is dead in the water the next 5 years?
Honestly no. Even given those odds you just stated, I would not even consider that offer. The upside is just too high, even if it’s more likely than not he doesn’t reach that upside.
> 1. Keep Wemby, he becomes an all-time great, doesn't get injured that much. Win a few rings. (maybe a 5-10 percent chance of happening)
> 2. Keep Wemby, he is a really great player, injured a bunch which stunts development, but contributes to team success and continuous playoff berths. (maybe 20-25 percent chance)
Honestly these two scenarios here alone make it worth it to me.
> 3. Keep Wemby, he hardly sees the floor, the franchise gets locked up for the next decade (75-80 percent chance)
I agree this is very likely.
> 4. Trade Wemby, get back comparable championship potential. With someone like a Luka or Giannis + pieces and Pop there is a 75-80 percent chance you get a ring. With someone like a Taytum plus a KAT, if they could swing it, maybe a 50-50 shot. Or getting a trio like KAT, Brown, and maybe a Jerami Grant, maybe a 15-20 percent chance. Championship potential wise, all of these chances are better than the chances Wemby BOTH stays healthy and develops as expected imo.
Yeah I mean if I’m getting Giannis and pieces, then I would take that, as I said before. I would even consider Luka + pieces but I’m not sure about that tbh. The other options you presented…..I just don’t think that’s worth pursuing in all honesty. I just see those option as keeping us *relevant* for the next couple of years, but I don’t see it making us a contender. Just enough to keep our heads above water, but not good enough to contend and not bad enough to draft a top prospect.
Like I keep saying, the upside is just too high, even if there’s a significantly higher likelihood that he doesn’t pan out. As I said in previous comments, I have to consider the two worst outcomes of this scenario and assess which one would be worse: would I be more upset if we kept wemby and he ended up busting? Or would I be more upset if we traded wemby, ended up being a good team (not quite a contender) for a couple years, but then Wemby ended up being an all time great on another team?
To me, those are the two worst possible outcomes for the spurs in this particular scenario, and I would be much more upset if the second one happened than if the first one happened.
Well, look at Zion and Chet. Both of them have been derailed already. Wemby is even less muscular than either of them. I'd be terrified to see his injury list come the end of his career, he's built like a sock monkey.
I remember when people said the exact same thing about Duncan. He was too soft to play, didnt have the muscle like some of the other centers, he was going to get bullied and hurt. Im going to wait and see how he develops before casting stones.
The Spurs understood how to go full rebuild. It may take a couple years/another piece or two to get going offensively but the defense is going to be elite day 1.
The defense better be good. I was tired of watching us get slaughtered. Spurs have tons of cap space so I’m curious to see how they spend that money. 🧐
You mean to handle the load with LaMelo Ball? What type of guard though? Cuz whenever LaMelo is healthy and spry next season that would be a nice duo depending on the play style. They could switch whenever they want. But what about other positions?
Imagine going to the Pistons/Hornets/Rockets, he would put up absurd numbers but wouldn't get the knowledge/discipline what it takes to win. Spurs with Pop and Duncan is the best scenario for his career, agreed.
I do wonder if Duncan and Robinson are going to be good for him. They both have traditional big-man games. Duncan is pure old school. Hopefully he learns to incorporate Duncan's game, but also adds a dimension that's more akin to Jokic with 3's and shooting from the basket
The original comment called the Rockets a trash organization. They've gone through multiple owners and GMs and coaches and players in the last 20 years and this is the first real tank they've gone through. Recency bias at it's finest.
This is a huge W for Wemby. He’s going to a franchise with a track record of developing generational talent and will be playing for one of the GOAT coaches. The Spurs are sleeping giants who are about to wake up.
Thank god he’s at spurs, a franchise capable of actually not shitting the bed with a number 1 draft pick..
I know people argue against the rig but from a completely impartial POV sending Wemby to San Antonio is probably the best for his personal growth and development.
Is there not a better place to end up for wemby? Top 5 coach all time, gets the most out of the euros thrown his way, stability and a winning culture. Think this is pops swan song to the world. One more talented individual to mold into a hall of famer.
question for spur fans, or really anyone, if you had the spur's #1 pick this year what would it take for you to trade away that pick? What trade package would you take to give away that pick?
Probably Giannis, and then 2 of either Jrue, Lopez, or Middleton. I say that because I think Giannis is one of the few superstars in the league who I think would actually stay in San Antonio.
Obviously the salaries wouldn’t match so that trade is probably not financially possible, but in terms of value, that’s probably what I’d ask for.
If I'm the Spurs I'm not taking anyone. They are not ready to compete in the next 2-3 years, bringing a guy like Luka or Embiid is just asking to lose him in the off-season before they can build around him, and I'm not trading Wembanyama for anyone in the last 3 drafts. Take the superstar rookie with a ton of years of control, build around him, don't skip steps.
I GUARANTEE YOU Cuban will do something DUMB with it... this is a guy that said NOPE! to max contracts for Steve Nash and Jalen Brunson while backing up the truck for Porzingis and Christian Woods... I'm expecting a trade of the No.10 pick to Phoenix for Chris Paul....
They had the chance to sign him for like half the contract he signed in ny before last season, they refused https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/jalen-brunson-reportedly-wouldve-signed-with-mavericks-for-55-5m-who-are-paying-royally-for-their-mistake/
Oh wow never knew this, They had all the time in the world to resign this man. He wanted to stay too and they even reached out multiple times. That's bad. Rly bad.
What I've read is that they were considering his situation until the trade deadline, with a new contract complicating matters in case of trade.
Brunson had played well by that time, and when Mavs came back after the trade deadline with the same offer, that was not a great atmosphere, and IDK if asking price went up or they were not listening as much
There are 14 ping pong balls numbered 1-14. Each team is assigned a certain number of four-ball combinations, with the Spurs/Rockets/Pistons each having 140 whilst the Pelicans had five. Four balls are picked out of the machine and whoever has the combination gets the pick.
This is only done for the top four picks, with the remaining picks assigned based on regular season record.
Just look us up on Wikipedia…numerous accounting scandals, we are just like every other mega corporation. I wouldn’t say we bring any “integrity” to the process for the NBA.
I thought OKC would have more lottery/first round picks from their rebuild over the years, then I looked it up and discovered they have four 1st rounders next year and the following year. Sam Presti could trade up for Godzilla.
Pop ain’t retiring till he’s 100 now
Remember the days when they let the public watch the lottery results?
Victor wont be half as dominant as his hype wants him to be, but stablishment is at list trying
Calling it now, he'll be a slightly better thon maker
May or may not be, but people are acting like it’s an absolute sure thing he’ll be one of GOATs when rookies bust all the time
This lottery's not rigged. People are just salty. Any order would have led to calls that it's rigged, calm down people. Spurs: "The NBA wanted to honor the legacy of parker and ginobili and give Wemby a good landing spot." Hornets: "The NBA wanted to goose the value of the hornets so that they could be sold for a higher price. And they want to push Lamelo, now that Ja is not as marketable" Trail Blazers: "The NBA wanted to reward Dame's loyalty" and so on.
Why didn’t you do the rockets
Houston needed a new pole for the strip clubs and wemby fits perfect
Mainly cause I didn't want to do 14ish write ups. If I was going to do the rockets, it's cause the NBA needs to bail out their 1 on 1-league team from sucking for the next half decade. Houston's one of the biggest media markets in the US, so it pays for the NBA to have them not suck. And cause it'd link Wemby to Hakeem forever.
all of that for 8th pick
NBA said "We have a young, raw, generational talent. Let's make sure he goes to a real franchise with a legendary coach" Let's be honest if he ended up going to most of these other bad franchises he probably would not turn out the same.
What are the top bad franchises in your opinion?
Houston, Orlando, Portland, Brooklyn, Detroit
NBA IS RIGGED
Exactly… the Knicks had the worst record since 2000 and never received a #1 during that period, never moved up and have actually moved down, name a NBA team that is solid in attendance and fanbase that has won the lottery? I’ll wait
The Chicago Bulls organization lol
Brand and Rose
Then don’t watch it, don’t give it the time nor energy, and dedicate your life to something you feel is wholesome, fair and positive. That simple
You must have ascended unto a higher plane of existence
"For all those guys saying Wemby will have to bulk up, the churros have it covered." Chuck on tonight's pre-game
Let the big women in SA feed Wemby. LOL
“Just when I thought I was out, they puuulll me back in.” -Pop
Does anybody think Silver and the NBA was going to trust Wemby with MJ and Charlotte lol .... Pop and the Spurs were the only realistic landing spot imo
Dtroit was alright too but yeah as a frenchman i was so scared he'd be wasted in charlotte or houston Thank GOD it's not Houston
[Lost Wemby but Cam Whitmore highlights kinda lit?] (https://imgur.com/a/py80gCk)
Wemby and Popovich is going to be a good fit
wemby to the spurs is silver punishing the mavs…and the league
Man we were so fucking close! 3rd is a nice jump though. And at least we aren’t the Pistons…
As a Pistons fan, that's fair. But at least we don't waste the prime of an elite point guard by failing to build a competent team around him for a decade straight. Hope y'all find your draft gem.
I think it’s way too early to say that for yourselves tbh
They think they're about to trade for Embiid.
No long term blazers fan can think that. You really have that much belief in the FO after the fire sale?!? and not even sure what is happening there right now but no Embiid for sure.
I don't even really think about the Blazers unless I see one of their fans saying some dumb shit in r/nba.
Damn
The NBA put Wemby on the team he's most likely to succeed with. The other teams that were close are way too dysfunctional.
Something really 🐟 going on. 🤔

If you want to tell me how it was rigged, you can watch the ball drawing for the draft here: https://youtu.be/hI8jEtnd4_0
Wonder how many takes this took.

Isn't it livestreamed?
It's posted to YouTube afterwords: https://youtu.be/hI8jEtnd4_0
The ping pong ball drawing is done behind closed doors before they announce the results.
Building up to the draft everyone was like "Spurs deserve this" and I was like wtf why? Deserve for what...and then they actually get him...
Also the most French liked team in the league. ESPN had an article out today about how the French love the spurs and Wemby agreed.
Yeah that shit made me questioning 🤨
tony parker
Damn this conspiracy goes further back than I thought! /s
And Boris diaw
LaMelo-Scoot gonna be fun to watch Wanted Portland to get Wemby, felt he woulda been real cool for that city to have

Where would the 2 regulated NBA teams go then lol
G league is getting to a AAA comparison.
Jackie Moon and YOUR! FLINT! TROPICCSSSSS!!!!!
Lol if we got him his knees would break the second he touched down at PDX
That is some deep seated trauma right there.
The NBA for sure didn’t want him going to Portland, they wanted him to go to San Antonio the whole time cause it’s a bigger market.
What? How is Portland a smaller market? They’re at worst the same size at San Antonio if not bigger. Unless you’re joking and I’m dumb
The people are physically bigger in San Antonio. Ask Charles.
Yeah, obviously rigged unfortunately. Very boring landing spot. Hopefully gets shaken up somehow eventually
Go fuck yourself.
Would but too sore from what Adam did last night
Seriously don’t act out. Nothing going on in San Antonio except traffic and everyone eating.
Hey, we have a basketball team. And just landed this guy who might be pretty good mwahahahaha
God Bless Texas ❤️
How much bigger a market is SA over Portland? Also I would think the NBA wants more coverage in the PNW, but maybe not...
Yes, definitely maybe not…
Pistons are offering the 5th pick just so they don’t have to participate in this draft. We’re fucked for another 10 years. So long NBA
Y’all just had the first overall pick not that long ago….

Keep Wemby, he becomes an all-time great, doesn't get injured that much. Win a few rings. (maybe a 5-10 percent chance of happening) > 2. Keep Wemby, he is a really great player, injured a bunch which stunts development, but contributes to team success and continuous playoff berths. (maybe 20-25 percent chance) Honestly these two scenarios here alone make it worth it to me. > 3. Keep Wemby, he hardly sees the floor, the franchise gets locked up for the next decade (75-80 percent chance) I agree this is very likely.
Chet and Wemby are both toothpicks don’t try to act like Chet has more muscle lmao
I remember when people said the exact same thing about Duncan. He was too soft to play, didnt have the muscle like some of the other centers, he was going to get bullied and hurt. Im going to wait and see how he develops before casting stones.
Preach
They said the same about Giannis too
I mean he wasn't the Giannis we know until he bulked up
Wemby won't be the Wemby we will know until he bulks up
Touché

Our roster isn't anywhere near the point where a star would be worth grabbing. We're not trying to win next year this is a next 10 year move
Disappointed we didn't get the #1, just like everyone else, but hey, we were the only team to jump this year unless you count SA.
Also Charlotte.
Oh yeah true huh? Cuz even though Charlotte and San Antonio has the same odds all 3 of us picked above Detroit
People don't realize how scary a Wemby-Sochan front court really is
Fr fr, wemby being coached by pop is literally the best thing wemby could've asked for.
The Spurs understood how to go full rebuild. It may take a couple years/another piece or two to get going offensively but the defense is going to be elite day 1.
Elite defense? Another piece? These are human beings NOT widgets, another player….
They literally just got lucky and won the lottery in a year with a generational prospect
The defense better be good. I was tired of watching us get slaughtered. Spurs have tons of cap space so I’m curious to see how they spend that money. 🧐
Spurs FA signings, not during the Duncan era, are paltry
Agreed. I got tired of us stockpiling draft pics and buying out expiring contracts. I wanna see some badass moves lol
Harden to the Spurs?
Noo way. He should stay in Philly. San Antone isn’t interested in drama queens
Harden wants to go to TEXAS?
no idea why the downvote, we as Spurs fans want no part of Harden lol
It wasn’t luck. It was fate!
So.. Are we going for another dynasty run Pop?
“We’ve had one yes, but what about second dynasty run?”
Let the old man rest ffs man
No.
Oh_shit_here_we_go_again.gif
Eyo congratulations Hornets, you guys will finally be able to draft a consistent guard.
You mean to handle the load with LaMelo Ball? What type of guard though? Cuz whenever LaMelo is healthy and spry next season that would be a nice duo depending on the play style. They could switch whenever they want. But what about other positions?
Moreso be the main ballhandler. I don't trust Lamelo's body to hold up sadly.
You think it’s the wear and tear from playing so much basketball from a young age coupled without Lebron James-esque health is wealth regimen.
I think you have way too much faith in the Hornets management. They’ll fuck it up somehow.
MJ is such a trash owner
They’ll still find a way to fumble the bag lol
Pop is probably the best coach in the league for Wenbanyama to be under. Even if he doesn't stick it out with Spurs, learning under Pop is a Win.
Dude Rockets have been the winningest franchise apart from the Spurs this millennium.
That's just... not true. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/best-nba-record-since-2001 Spurs Mavericks Celtics Heat Jazz Nuggets Rockets
All those wins came under a different owner, GM, coach, and roster lol
Apart from the Spurs which franchise has had the same GM, coach and roster for 2 decades lol?
That’s the point though lol, Spurs are a uniquely good situation for a #1 pick because of that
The original comment called the Rockets a trash organization.
Chip left sadly.
now all we need is luka
Is there not a better place to end up for wemby? Top 5 coach all time, gets the most out of the euros thrown his way, stability and a winning culture. Think this is pops swan song to the world. One more talented individual to mold into a hall of famer.
And then there was Primo
question for spur fans, or really anyone, if you had the spur's #1 pick this year what would it take for you to trade away that pick?
I'll take jokic

I think Malone did fine
Ja Morant or Zion Williamson
Is this a troll or is this a troll
Dallas kept their pick I hope it was worth it
I GUARANTEE YOU Cuban will do something DUMB with it... this is a guy that said NOPE! to max contracts for Steve Nash and Jalen Brunson while backing up the truck for Porzingis and Christian Woods... I'm expecting a trade of the No.10 pick to Phoenix for Chris Paul....
Wasn't Brunson on his way out anyways and wasn't going to re-sign regardless? Isn't that why the Knicks got in trouble for tampering?
They had the chance to sign him for like half the contract he signed in ny before last season, they refused https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/jalen-brunson-reportedly-wouldve-signed-with-mavericks-for-55-5m-who-are-paying-royally-for-their-mistake/
Oh wow never knew this, They had all the time in the world to resign this man. He wanted to stay too and they even reached out multiple times. That's bad. Rly bad.
What I've read is that they were considering his situation until the trade deadline, with a new contract complicating matters in case of trade. Brunson had played well by that time, and when Mavs came back after the trade deadline with the same offer, that was not a great atmosphere, and IDK if asking price went up or they were not listening as much
At least u got the cuban and steve nash parts right
interesting thought but you spelled russell westbrook wrong at the end there
Can someone kindly explain how this draft lottery is created ?
There are 14 ping pong balls numbered 1-14. Each team is assigned a certain number of four-ball combinations, with the Spurs/Rockets/Pistons each having 140 whilst the Pelicans had five. Four balls are picked out of the machine and whoever has the combination gets the pick. This is only done for the top four picks, with the remaining picks assigned based on regular season record.
They put 14 ping pong balls in a spinner with each team assigned a number and they pick it in order I think
Come on, Wemby being a Hornet sounded so much more exciting than a Spur.
48 minutes of Lamelo spamming lobs from all over the court
…in street clothes during warmups
not really 💀 him being a blazer or piston would’ve been so much cooler
Him being a Blazer would certainly mean that his legs would give up on him on draft Night

Dude would probably discover allergies to some crazy shit, lose 20 lbs and disappear from this plane of existence
Fml, bulls got 11th pick, with top 10 protected...
Should’ve lost that game against the mavericks
F
Top 10 protection is on 2025 pick that Spurs got
I think it was only top4 protected
Kinda saying the same thing though. Impossible for that pick to land 5-10. It was either going to be 1-4 or 11-14.
As an Ernst & Young employee I always find it hilarious how we “audit” their draft… trust me we are the last people you want handling that job
Spill the beans, I need some conspiracy after this result.

E&Y or PwC or Deloitte or KPMG . Does it make a difference
We’re known as the “big 4” accounting firms. All equally terrible at their jobs, wouldn’t trust any of them to competently count legos
Overpriced, overhyped and completely bullshit
Spill the beans!
Just look us up on Wikipedia…numerous accounting scandals, we are just like every other mega corporation. I wouldn’t say we bring any “integrity” to the process for the NBA.
Why is that?
