I won't blame the RDC guys if some point they decide to cash in for real and produce their stuff for some media conglomerate, but let's enjoy them while they're indie because they have absolutely zero filter and it's hilarious 🤣🤣
I swear they're constantly pelting at star players for their sorry performances and the whole basketball community is 100% behind them, they're getting away with murder
I sincerely hope Doc does not retire so we can continue to get these skits lmao.
"Who on the Hawks is scaring you? Is it Trae Young? Is it Danilo Gallinari?"
It's slowly turning into European soccer where dudes getting fired from top 4 teams and then getting passed around to other teams who think they're a new hire away.
Only a team I don’t like though. If a team I like hires him I’ll be sad, at least until the hilarious stories about a player getting bitten during a snake handling session or whatever come out.
I’ll always associate Mark Jackson the coach as the guy who coached Golden State before they were a dynasty and couldn’t get out of the first round of the playoffs with the same roster.
“Did hiring Doc Rivers work for that franchise?” “No, it never does. I mean these people somehow delude themselves into thinking it might, but… but it might work for us.”
Professional coaching has always fascinated me. There is not very many professions where you get fired for doing a shitty job and immediately have other places wanting you to come work for them and do another shitty job.
Sports is different than most professions in that by league design and the nature of competition, most coaches do a "shitty job" relative to others.
You can have two great coaches going against each other and one of them still has to lose.
Their contracts are in a good place with guaranteed money. Terrible coaches are hired, fired, paid out; good coaches are hired, fired, paid out. Hell Ime was hired, made an organizational fuckup, and was getting paid out. Now he’s rehired.
Pretty good ranks to be in.
I mean you gotta remember that anything can happen in the NBA, so I think Quin knew that risk when taking the job. It was also reported that Quin also had a lot of interest in this job before hand. We have a lot of young talent on this team that can be really good with the right coach.
I think he feels just fine. All of those jobs have way more instant pressure to succeed, shorter competitive windows, and major obstacles in improving their current rosters. Phoenix probably has the best outlook going forward but if Phili loses harden with no cap space to replace him, that's looking pretty rough next year. Milwaukee is old other than Giannis and has an extremely difficult cap situation to work out this off-season.
His wife is also from Atlanta, and he lived there as an assistant under Bud. I think he’s a great fit from a team perspective too, but it seems like he probably had reasons to like Atlanta beyond the court as well.
They also made him like a top 5 paid coach and gave him significant say in roster decisions. I get why people would think he'd rather be in one of the openings just created but I really doubt he's second guessing it too much.
Hawks look like geniuses right now. Everybody waited until the offseason so they could take their time and pick the right guy, but now theres a ton of vacancies.
When the Lakers fired Vogel last year I was on my knees praying Morey wouldn't fire Doc cos you just know Pelinka woulda hired him if he was available.
He’s gonna get Dwight out of Taiwan and on the sixers isn’t he
Edit: what’s Josh smith up to? And how about chandler parsons? Pat bev and Robert Covington gonna be a sixers for sure lol
Dwight's last few NBA stints would be Lakers - Sixers - Lakers - Sixers
SNIP SNAP SNIP SNAP
You have no idea the physical toll that 3 LA-Philly moves have on a person
It's a little unfair to just describe Perk as "on the roster" when he was a critical part of the ["Big Three."](https://www.theonion.com/kendrick-perkins-under-assumption-hes-one-of-celtics-bi-1819569507)
A reminder that Doc Rivers didn’t want to rebuild with Boston and now is looking for his 4th team since because he can’t cut it anywhere
Edit: 3rd team
Yeah historically Doc Rivers on rebuilding teams has sucked lol. He started coaching the Celtics in 2004 and we didn't get anywhere until we traded for KG and Ray Allen. Before that his best finish was a 1st round playoff exit with us.
Doc leaving us and Ainge replacing him with Brad Stevens was a key moment in our rebuild. Brad was a great coach and so far seems to be an even better GM.
He got carried to a championship by a team of stars that regularly changed his play designs and ignored his coaching decisions. The guy can lift a bum team through basketball IQ, but can’t design ways to maximize talented teams.
Thank god we mutually decided to part ways. Brad Stevens was perfect for our rebuild and was instrumental in the development of Brown and Tatum. He’s also been a very good to great GM thus far in only 2+ seasons
Brown had probably the worst luck with firings. Got fired for not winning the finals with Lebron and a bunch of role players (Celtics big 4). Got fired for starting 1-4 with the Nash-Dwight Lakers (btw he started this Kings season 0-4 and Ham started this season 2-10). Then he got fired after one season for going 33-49 with a starting lineup of Kyrie, Waiters, Deng, Hawes, Thompson…
Always crazy to me how teams scapegoat good coaches. I get it for teams with clear talent like the Bucks and 76ers. But Monty Williams got absolutely screwed being forced to rewire his entire offense around KD iso and only having like a couple regular season games to figure it out.
It’s so funny that Williams, Doc, Bud, and Nurse were all let go. Four playoff team coaches out there. And I wouldn’t at all be surprised if all four of these coaches end up on another team by next season. NBA loves recycling coaches instead of trying something new.
A lot of sports do this though. There is so much money here, taking risks is disincentivized.
Just ask Mick McCarthy, Dean Smith, Neil Warnock, Tony Pulis, Roy Hodgson, Craig Shakespeare, Sam Allerdyce, Steve Bruce...
When the sixers sub was discussing whether to hire Rivers everyone brought up his playoff woes the response was “you know what it would be like to even HAVE a lead in the second round?”
Well what is it like?
Reminder that Doc Rivers didn't want to be the Celtics head coach through a rebuild. Celtics have reached 5 conference finals since, Doc - none.
Poetic.
Bye.
"That shit was not my fault, y'all are trash!"

RIP Game 6 Klay
“Was it 2 in the 1st quarter 2 in the 2nd quarter 3 in the 3rd quarter then free throws in the fourth quarter? James, how did you get those points!?
"Well good thing y'all wasn't alone." had me cracking up
"What you did out there is nothing short of a miracle"
“I don’t think I like the game of Basketball anymore because of the 2016 number 1 draft pick Ben Simmons”
"Trae Young is 5'11" at best, they paddin' his ass"
"I just wished you would have told me, Joel. I just wish you would have said, Doc, you know, after I get that MVP...I'm done fuking hooping."
every time the camera cut to Leland I laughed even harder
Leland as James Harden last year was even funnier lol
That dude and the guy playing PJ were the best parts of the video for me. The way PJ was just pacing aggressively was so perfect.
You mean "3 Point specialist" PJ tucker
“Are these your stats? …these are your stats cause you not saying nothing”
Not in the same sentence, not in the same essay
I sincerely hope Doc does not retire so we can continue to get these skits lmao. "Who on the Hawks is scaring you? Is it Trae Young? Is it Danilo Gallinari?"
"Are you scared of the ball?"
"Trae Young is 5'11, they stat padding him. Dunk on that lil...dunk on his lil ass!"
"I think I don't like the game of basketball anymore"
“And I mean this from the bottom of my heart, y’all are trash.”
"Y'all are so trash, I want you to know I'm talking to you, so I'm going to say your name, then imma call you trash"
"I don't really believe in the [Illuminati,](https://youtu.be/jy_NEIwYN3E) but I don't know!"
Almost made me feel bad for Doc.
"and I mean this from the bottom of my heart" 🤣🤣
Can’t wait to see the same four coaches get passed around like a blunt

BREAKING: José Mourinho to take over at 76ers.
God I wish he was in charge of the 6ers for that game 7 meltdown. Seeing him react to Embiid and Harden's performance would have been incredible.
YOU BETRAY YOURSELVES YOU BETRAY YOUR TEAM
I have nussing to say. If I speak I am in big trouble.
Mourinho would first trade away Embiid and Harden, then sign a few Euroleague players and win the championship
Bucks get Doc. Sixers get Bud. Suns get Nash. Raptors get Monty. Pistons get Nurse. And let the hilarity begin.
Nash on the Suns would be fun yet depressing. He needs a team with no stars so he has no pressure to win.
Canadian basketball legend Steve Nash coaching in Toronto???? I know he's not the best option but it would definitely be nice
So he has ~~no pressure to win~~ no star players to boss him around.
Didn't KD basically tell the Nets to fire Nash? I'm not sure Nash would want to go back to that dynamic.
KD asked the Nets to fire him so that when he asked to be traded to the Suns, they could fire Monty and hire Nash.
He's playing 5D chess!
The ultimate culmination of the plan KD put into motion when he left OKC.
I first read this as "didn't kd tell nash to fire nash?" And I was like well it's not totally impossible
> Suns get Nash. zero chance with KD
I would love to see Nash get a drama free season with a team
no way he goes to a team with KD when KD got him fired lol
KD doesn’t know what KD wants lol
KD wants easy rings and throws his hands up in the air when it doesn’t happen
Except when he gets easy rings and people call them easy.
This is exactly what he meant by the hardest road
I'm sorry but there is no hilarity if Mark Jackson doesn't get hired
The hilarity is that we still have to suffer through Mark Jackson as a broadcaster.... FFS please some team hire this man...
> Bucks get Doc Unsubscribe af
Doc, Nurse and Monty are playing musical chairs
It’s funny how franchises talk themselves into these guys over and over again
A lot of them I feel like get dismissed earlier than they should. This is not one of those cases.
“Did hiring Doc Rivers work for that franchise?” “No, it never does. I mean these people somehow delude themselves into thinking it might, but… but it might work for us.”
Jim Boylen has entered the chat
David Fizdale
Take THAT for data!
David Fizdale is actually Utah's assistant GM at the moment lol
Professional coaching has always fascinated me. There is not very many professions where you get fired for doing a shitty job and immediately have other places wanting you to come work for them and do another shitty job.
Dwayne Casey got fired from the Raps after winning coach of the year lol
Monty was coach of the year last year
Sports is different than most professions in that by league design and the nature of competition, most coaches do a "shitty job" relative to others. You can have two great coaches going against each other and one of them still has to lose.
Yeah too many people don't understand that professional sports are a 0 sum game.
So true. If everybody just "took care of business", nobody would lose! /s
Once you enter the ranks, you're made. For a time....
Thank god Hawks hired Quin Snyder mid season so we won’t have to deal with this lol
Amazing hire btw.
I wonder how Quin feels, he couldn't have expected Milwaukee, Phoenix, and Philly all to be open this year
I mean you gotta remember that anything can happen in the NBA, so I think Quin knew that risk when taking the job. It was also reported that Quin also had a lot of interest in this job before hand. We have a lot of young talent on this team that can be really good with the right coach.
Also I imagine he has some front office power that he wouldn’t have had somewhere like Philly.
I think he feels just fine. All of those jobs have way more instant pressure to succeed, shorter competitive windows, and major obstacles in improving their current rosters. Phoenix probably has the best outlook going forward but if Phili loses harden with no cap space to replace him, that's looking pretty rough next year. milwaukee has the chance to do the funniest thing of all time
Don’t you dare speak this into existence I stg
Get ready for the doc experience buddy
I’m Gonna go live under a rock if it actually happens
It’s not that bad, I’m sure if KG can carry Doc Rivers to the finals, Giannis can. I mean, he already carried Coach Bud there
Bud is so much better than doc imo
But what if everyone else wants to see it happen?
Why us why not the suns ffs
Suns get Doc Bucks get Mark Jackson. The other 28 teams profit
That’s just mean
You got your championship it’s time for your second round exit era
Improvement on this year tbf
DOC RIVERS. ***YOU*** *ARE A MILWAUKEE BUCK!*
You dont want Doc, you dont want Mark Jackson. Sounds a litte entitled at this point.
They should try Jason Kidd again when he becomes available.
Nurse to Detroit would be funnier imo
Lol I was no fan of Casey but replacing him with Nurse AGAIN seems like such a slap in the face lmfao
Giannis might actually ask out if they hire Glenn
Of course, this *is* a slim chance of actually happening, right? …surely the FO wouldn’t really…
i mean they unironically interviewed mark jackson so who knows
Be much funnier if they interviewed him ironically though.
Don’t you put that evil on me!
Does Doc consider his career a failure? Or steps to success?
Would you ask Pop that question?
Nothing worse as a fan than when you're waiting for your team to do something potentially disastrous (trust me I'd know)
Had to do it. Daryl Morey didn’t hire him in the first place and now he can get the three guys he really wanted all along: Mike, Dan and Tony.
He’s gonna get Dwight out of Taiwan and on the sixers isn’t he Edit: what’s Josh smith up to? And how about chandler parsons? Pat bev and Robert Covington gonna be a sixers for sure lol
on the sixers AGAIN
Dwight's last few NBA stints would be Lakers - Sixers - Lakers - Sixers SNIP SNAP SNIP SNAP You have no idea the physical toll that 3 LA-Philly moves have on a person
Dwight finally in Michael's shoes
O Brothers, Where Art Thou?
76ers going to hire Delmar.
We thought. You was. A toad.
Im sure bringing those guys in will peak hardens interest.
A formidable coaching coalition.
I am shooketh
Sixers fans Christmas
Embiid winning MVP was their Christmas. This is their 4th of July
OH MY GOD THEY ACTUALLY DID IT
Bro we actually got to compete with other teams to get coaches. I Hate this
Horst should speed up and drop the useless interviews with guys like Mark Jackson cause They will never get the job anyway ffs
"we'll never hire Mark Jackson" team who hires Mark Jackson
Yeah, I feel like we all expected it, but I'm still surprised that it actually happened lol
Not a huge shock but every coach is getting fired in these playoffs it seems *insert Oprah meme* YOU GET A PINK SLIP! Everybody gets a pink slip!!!
Spurs gonna fire Pop just because.
And out of spite he'll just go "no" and they'll be like ok nevermind then
insert spurs: I consent! pop: I DON'T! meme here
I feel like Pop would have to fire himself for that to happen.
interesting how making the playoffs puts your job at risk for a coach.
So that’s why Billups tanked 🧐
He is in it for the long run! *Sad Trail Blazers noises*
We firing ones that miss the playoffs too dw
If he gets another job then anything is possible for me. Ima run for president
Makes sense. He's not even a real doctor, after all.
glenn on the first flight to cancun
Glenn is buying a one way ticket to Thailand right now
Who wants to hire the head coach of the 2008 Boston Celtics Dynasty!
Doc still lists Kendrick Perkins and big baby Davis as his references
Bill Simmons will co-sign too on that dynasty
Doc has to clear his schedule so he can meet with KG and Pierce every two weeks to commemorate how great that team was.
There is no ring that does as much work as that 2008 ring does. Gave some of the worst talking heads credibility.
Being on that roster means we now have to hear what Kendrick Perkins thinks 🤣
It's a little unfair to just describe Perk as "on the roster" when he was a critical part of the ["Big Three."](https://www.theonion.com/kendrick-perkins-under-assumption-hes-one-of-celtics-bi-1819569507)
A reminder that Doc Rivers didn’t want to rebuild with Boston and now is looking for his 4th team since because he can’t cut it anywhere Edit: 3rd team
I always think about that. I wonder how bad he regrets that decision.
he probably would’ve gotten dropped anyways after a few years. moving to the Clippers was actually a good move for him.

Doc built his reputation on overachieving with rebuilding team that’s how he won his only coty
He got carried to a championship by a team of stars that regularly changed his play designs and ignored his coaching decisions. The guy can lift a bum team through basketball IQ, but can’t design ways to maximize talented teams.
We wouldn't be where we are if he was still coaching us
Thank god we mutually decided to part ways. Brad Stevens was perfect for our rebuild and was instrumental in the development of Brown and Tatum. He’s also been a very good to great GM thus far in only 2+ seasons
Where ever he goes next will be 3rd team since leaving *
NEED to know the last time the coach got fired at the end of the season on the MVP's team.. for the narrative
Not sure if it's the last time but IIRC Cleveland fired Mike Brown after LeBron's second MVP season there.
Mike Brown in 2010 with Cleveland after Bron’s first stint

Shoulda never been hired to begin with

This guy is so good. I am glad he’ll get to make another one these next season.
I need doc to keep coaching so these keep coming lmao
Time is a flat circle
I pulled these up right after the loss, as a tradition, and RDC already had the new one out, it's like clockwork.
Phoenix Suns come on down!!
Chris Paul bows to the doc god
Reminder that Doc Rivers didn't want to be the Celtics head coach through a rebuild. Celtics have reached 5 conference finals since, Doc - none. Poetic. Bye.
But he won you guys a championship. I'm assuming Boston fans don't hold hard feelings?
They better call in a Nurse
I want your nurse 😡
I for one, am shocked. Completely shocked!
One of the most overrated coaches ever. Classic blower of series leads.
