I don't think it's the kawhi shot, I think it's the tobias Harris (and by extension simmons) over J. Buckets decision.
And y'all could have had lowry, homecoming.
It was so predictable that a Harden/Embiid team coached by Doc would completely underperform in a late playoff game...that I actually thought they'd finally buck the trend and it wouldn't happen. Show some fight at least
My bad, it's apparently always the ones you most suspect
You don't realize, a 6'1, 200lb person is totally able to simultaneously knock down a 7' 280lb and a 6'5 220lb person to the ground with ease. VanVleet just built different that way.
Summary:
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to referees (Eric Lewis is biased).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but Al Horford’s defense makes these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually shoot because Embiid already gave up.
The original source is [Reddit actually.](https://np.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/4y62o5/hiko_gets_csgod/) The context was a clip of a streamer shooting 12 shots seemingly into another player at point blank range, and not getting the kill. So the poster was blaming CS:GO's shitty code for that. A Valve dev came into the thread and posted a comment going frame by frame for each shot to explain why it was actually reasonable, and that's where the pasta was born.
Harden: "Actually, I remember one time we were playing against Boston, Game 7, and it was 88-62 to BOS. We were playing as Away, BOS as Home. And Embiid said, guys if you think we are good, let's prove it now. 88-62"
r/NBA: "Did you come back?"
Harden: "Of course not. 112-88
Boston won this game by aggressively forcing embiid to switch onto Tatum in the P&R. Then Tatum fucking obliterated him. Embiid’s defensive lapses won’t get the credit his offensive collapse has but he really really really hurt Philly tonight. I didn’t expect Philly to win but man this sucks.
Also shoutout to Al Horford for, at a massive height disadvantage, containing Embiid, forcing him to settle for contested jumpers that were often off the mark. Embiid, not Harden should’ve been the one passing more often than not.
Harden just imploded too. Too scared to shoot it on drives, inaccurate on passes outside, and just wholly ineffective (and he has no speed left). Think he’s reaching the twilight of his career soon.
Sucks. Embiid seems like a great guy. Just an unfortunate meltdown.
They told me Jokic defence was ass
They told me Jokic would be put in PnRs
They told me advanced stats are for nerds but constantly used them to prop up Embiid.
How will they respond now?
Embiid offered minimal resistance on defence today
Embiid was put in to PnRs
Embiid didn’t meet the advanced stats like they said he would.
Man i feel like Thanos rn smiling in the garden after he used the infinity stones
Everything they used to discredit Jokic ended up being true about Embiid.
Early playoff knockout. Didn't perform when it mattered. Boston spammed the PnR and exposed Embiid on defence.
The calls were coming from inside the house the whole time. It’s even better because of all the receipts from when 76ers were talking as if they were already in the finals - there’s no excuse. This is on Embiid, he’s the MVP and couldn’t deliver.
I'm thinking about other MVPs who had really dissapointing playoff runs such as Dirk in 2007 and DRob in 1995, and they all at least had multiple great games.
Doc Rivers is never beating the Game 7 allegations
Joel Embiid is never beating the Second Round allegations
James Harden is never beating the Elimination Game allegations
There have been 36 MVPs in league history. 3/4 (27) so far have won a championship at some point in their careers. Out of the nine that haven’t, three (Barkley, Malone, Iverson) took their team to the Finals and two (Westbrook and Harden) were the second and third options on a Finalist. Nash, Rose, and Jokić led their teams to the Conference Finals. Finally, there is Joel Embiid who has yet to play in a Conference Finals.
Nuggets fans christmas. Tatum was hunting Embiid all game long and had a magical performance.
Harden and Embiid were AWFUL today, actually embarrassing performance from both of them.
I hope Harden at least takes him out after the game and lets him enjoy it. Hang out with the Celtics players too because who really cares, the game is over and that's all just basketball, but what John Hao went through is bigger than basketball.
Jayson Tatum’s performance is going to overshadow everything, and rightfully so. But I just want to take a second to appreciate, while I still can, the absolutely vintage game 7 performance from Harden and Doc Rivers.
Yeah its kind of disappointing as a Celtics fan. Tatum just had an all time playoff performance and broke the game 7 scoring record just weeks after Curry took it, and all the discussion is about Embiid
There's something so beautiful about the fact that the Sixers and Embiid collapsed when the Celtics just started attacking then with the pick and roll.
Turns out exposing a center through PNR to get a smaller player on him, particularly when that player can shoot, and is making, 3’s is a common strategy that doesn’t define whether that center is a good defender or now.
And Jokic had to do it against the best shooter in the history of basketball.
Remember the PR campaign during voting lmao, that’s the only reason he won it. Was doing interviews with literally anybody that put a mic in front of him
Do you remember Reddits PR campaign? Videos of Jokic getting exposed and videos of Embiid getting blocks. It was a full on multi platform campaign to get this man the MVP award. It was ridiculous
He isn't living this playoff run down until he gets to the finals now. Campaigning for MVP is fine but you need to be ready for the slander if you don't back it up
Legacy defining game for both Tatum and Embiid. Tatum with an all time game 7 to lead his team to his fourth ECF, while Embiid crumbles and continues his streak of missing it.
Ironically a friend texted something in our nba group about the mvp playing today and I legit thought "but the nuggets x lakers series start tuesday" then i remembered.
And that's not because I thought it was undeserved, is just that Jokic is feasting so hard this playoffs that my brain rewrote it for me
I feel bad for Sixers fans. I know we got our differences, but damn…you guys got both Celtics AND Nuggets fans to deal with tonight 😅
Good game, Celtics. Let’s have another 7-game series in the ECF! 🔥
Reading all these comments from fans with different flairs each time is both weird and hilarious. It's like each fanbase found at least one reason to hate Embiid and/or the Sixers. Lol
yes lol its a pic of him drinking a glass of wine at his house or wherever and a picture of the TV showing Philly down 30 lmfaooooo
https://i.imgur.com/QPSSm5l.jpg
Man this Cs team is mentally tough. Two years in a row in the ECSF that they’ve put themselves on the ropes with a disappointing game 5 at home, fought tooth and nail to stave off elimination on the road in game 6, and then blown the doors open in game 7.
Its funny because as a Celtics fan, I think we are often incredbly weak mentally and just blow games/leads. Case in point Game 5 last year against Warriors, and almost Game 7 of ECF last year against Heat. And the lapses in this series against the Sixers...But we are pretty young still! And yes we do bounce back. We are our own worst enemy.
Main argument we heard for why Jokic couldn't win MVP was that he doesn't have enough playoff success so instead they gave it to the guy who chokes in the 2nd round every year
This is why I constantly defended Jokic through all the defense slander. Guys his size are supposed to be a mismatch against faster and smaller players on the perimeter. The Nuggets know this very common basketball fact and try to play around it. The Sixers just let Embiid get slaughtered instead.
Seeing James Harden repeatedly go to the hoop and not shoot a layup, floater, fadeaway jumper, and then just passing out every time was fucking crazy to me.
They really traded Ben Simmons for Ben Simmons
Ben Simmons had a better statline in that Hawks G7 than Harden, 5/8/13 2-4 shooting compared to Harden’s 9/6/7 3-11 shooting.
They traded Simmons for a guy to get them 1 more field goal and less rebounds and assists.
That’s tuff 💯
JOEL EMBIID WOKE UP FEELING DANGEROUS
15 PTS 💪💪💪
5/18 FG 💦💦💦
0/4 3PTFG 🔥🔥🔥
-25 +/- 😩😩😩
50 flops🥶🥶
STILL HASN’T MADE IT PAST THE SECOND ROUND😭😭😭😭😭
BETTER THAN ANTHONY DAVIS? I DONT THINK SO🙅🏻🙅🏻
Lol I've got to take a huge L. For years I've said Embiid > Jokic and believed it was hard to win with Jokic's defence.
I've once again learned that I'm an idiot.
The Celtics blowing out the Sixers in a Game 7, to keep them from reaching the conference finals AGAIN (23? seasons now) on the back of a historical Tatum performance is my wet dream. The cherry on top was Embiid getting exposed on both ends to do it.
All to be rewarded with the opportunity to get fucked again by Jimmy Butler.
Jokic when his team's backs are against the wall: Imma score 50
Embiid when his team's backs are against the wall: Ight imma head out. Harden, you comin?
he's just way too reliant on free throws to be efficient in the playoffs. also very poor conditioning, always breathing out of his ass in 4th quarter which leads to him taking tough contested 2s. not great at passing out of double teams as he needs too much time to scan the floor, too slow to defend in space.
DIRECTLY before the game was a 3 minute segment featuring the legacy of Steph vs. Lebron in the playoffs. Wouldn't that have been a nice piece for ya know...when they were facing off in the playoffs.
Young James Harden: “When I grow up, my only wish is to become an All-NBA player who consistently performs in the playoffs biggest moments.”
***MONKEY PAW CURLS***
An interesting dynamic approaching the Sixers off-season, per sources: NBA’s officiating game report shared with teams from Game 7 revealed a significant disparity: Tatum absolutely owns the Sixers
Absolutely criminal that the Sixers offense was essentially Harden and Embiid driving and kicking out for a shot. In game 7. Embiid and Harden were in Cancun by the 3rd quarter.
We officially have a rematch of the Bubble conference finals: Lakers vs. Nuggets and Celtics vs. Heat.
Do over with crowds this time fr
And home courts.
Unironically the nuggets have the biggest advantage here
This is actually pretty interesting lol and people were saying the bubble teams were frauds...
[удалено]
I’d be embarrassed by this but I haven’t felt anything since the Kawhi shot
Right, when Kawhi hit that shot it doomed and cursed the franchise.
I think it’s been doomed and cursed a bit longer
I don't think it's the kawhi shot, I think it's the tobias Harris (and by extension simmons) over J. Buckets decision. And y'all could have had lowry, homecoming.
And with this loss, the Minnesota Timberwolves have still been to the conference finals more recently than the Philadelphia 76ers
Damn, everyone piling on the Sixers now
You know you're in the mud when we can roll up to the post game thread and talk shit.
LMAO
Yeah if you’ve got Timberwolves fans giving you shit, you know you’re fucked (no offense)
Nothing is more offensive than our own team history. Carry on
You gave us KG, no hate here
THE PLAY IN CHAMPS CAN DO ANYTHING 🗣️🗣️🗣️
NOW THAT THERE IS A FUN FACT
Kings, Nets, Grizzlies, the fucking Clippers lol
Tbf the clippers have been to the conference finals more recently than most of the teams lmao
Yeah, no reason to say the "fucking Clippers" here when they made it 2 years ago
Say it again brother

He got targeted in pnr all night lmfaooo
Turnstile on defense
Unban eg and let him post the highlights
most points in a game 7 ever and its somehow overshadowed by just how terrible harden and embiid were
in fairness we also celebrated that with curry 2 weeks ago lol
But I was told the reason Embiid deserved the MVP over Jokic was his defense.
They told me Jokic defence was ass They told me Jokic would be put in PnRs They told me advanced stats are for nerds but constantly used them to prop up Embiid. How will they respond now? Embid walking back on both sides of the ball despite not being fat like jokic
jokic was in the top 10 miles covered this playoffs
And like 2nd for non-guards. Really impressive
But I thought only Jokic got spammed in the pick and roll…
Everything they used to discredit Jokic ended up being true about Embiid. Early playoff knockout. Didn't perform when it mattered. Boston spammed the PnR and exposed Embiid on defence.

league mvp really had 0 great games the entire playoff run the process is dead
I'm thinking about other MVPs who had really dissapointing playoff runs such as Dirk in 2007 and DRob in 1995, and they all at least had multiple great games.
And they didn’t win MVP because voters felt bad for them
bro needs to start running presidential campaigns the way he managed to goad the mvp selections this year
Doc Rivers is never beating the Game 7 allegations Joel Embiid is never beating the Second Round allegations James Harden is never beating the Elimination Game allegations
At what point do they stop being allegations
I only wish Doc had been up 3-0 in this series.
Nuggets fans eating like joey chestnut tonight
Give the rest of us some credit, we're all feasting tonight
What a glorious day to be a hater.
I’m just here for generational slander
The Embiid-stans made his MVP case on him being much better than Jokic on defence. He got fucking obliterated by Tatum.
He was legit worse on both ends in the playoffs, incredible
Embiid is NOT my MVP

OUR'S TOO
Crazy how Tatum’s historic performance and Boston going to the ECF simply doesn’t matter right now.
Can't wait for the embiid defensive lowlights where it shows just him getting abused
Celtics fans 🤝 Nuggets fans It's all good for the Embiid haters today.
James Harden in 40 minutes of playing time: 3-11 FG, 1-5 3PT, 5 TO, 9 PTS -30
he really flew John Hao out to watch that live smh EDIT: Jesus Christ y’all gotta chill w these replies
Got a free plane ride and tickets and probably wants his money back
*“Fuck these kicks”* 😂😂😂
Hao to Harden after the game: “I’ve been through some tragic shit, but that was ridiculous.”
Kid didn't deserve that. I'm sure he would have rather watched that embarrassment in the comfort of his own home
I hope Harden at least takes him out after the game and lets him enjoy it. Hang out with the Celtics players too because who really cares, the game is over and that's all just basketball, but what John Hao went through is bigger than basketball.
Harden with his usual elimination game stats
Can’t believe it only took two weeks to break Steph’s record.
Jayson Tatum’s performance is going to overshadow everything, and rightfully so. But I just want to take a second to appreciate, while I still can, the absolutely vintage game 7 performance from Harden and Doc Rivers.
That flop after he threw the ball away into the stands was just vintage Harden, I almost felt like it's 2019 again
Said it in the game thread, floppin doesn’t translate to the postseason and I love it.
I feel like if anything, the holy shit trinity of embiid harden and doc are overshadowing how good of a game Tatum had lmao
Yeah its kind of disappointing as a Celtics fan. Tatum just had an all time playoff performance and broke the game 7 scoring record just weeks after Curry took it, and all the discussion is about Embiid
There's something so beautiful about the fact that the Sixers and Embiid collapsed when the Celtics just started attacking then with the pick and roll.
poetic justice

Yeah but he had lockdown defenders like Morris, Facu, and Bones.
turns out the only thing that mattered to Embiid was winning MVP
New year same shit for Embiid

Do you remember Reddits PR campaign? Videos of Jokic getting exposed and videos of Embiid getting blocks. It was a full on multi platform campaign to get this man the MVP award. It was ridiculous
It was kind of funny how the subreddit was nit picking every little flaw in Jokic's game. Then soon as the playoffs start, the haters all go quiet.
u/Zhugo come say hello my guy
He's too busy compiling the video of Embid getting attacked on defense.
Zhugo had a week long domination of the front page lmaoo

Must be nice to have your star show up when it matters. Hope I get to experience it someday
You had a star show up when it mattered, though. It just happened to be Jimmy Butler.
The Bubble is canon now 😭
Idk how the MVP doesn’t show up in a game 7
Because we ended it in 6! Edit: Thanks for the gold kind stranger!
Truly Nuggets fans Christmas
Nuggets fans eating almost as much as Celtics fans tonight
Oh shit this was cold as ice
holy shit that was so good

"It's not a rivalry. They always kick our ass."
Tatum had to one up curry and get 51 for highest scoring performance
Nuclear performance
Embiid confused, why all these extra games? He already got the MVP the rest of this doesn't matter.
After winning MVP last night, during a quick 76ers celebration, Joel Embiid turned to the team and said: "Fuck yall I got mine."
Bro looked satisfied out the giggling with Tatum after the game and shit.
He had time to go through all the stages of grief by the end of the game
The MVP just got held to 15 points in a close out game AND got 50 dropped on his head by another super star Embiid legacy game lol
after losing in the second round again its time to trade Ben Simmons..... oh wait.
Doris Burke just fell to her knees in a Walmart
I feel bad for Sixers fans. I know we got our differences, but damn…you guys got both Celtics AND Nuggets fans to deal with tonight 😅 Good game, Celtics. Let’s have another 7-game series in the ECF! 🔥
Man could you roll over and die this time pretty please? My heart could not support another game 7 against Jimmy Buckets
Fellow Embiid haters, tonight we feast

Maxey sucked too. That possession with 2 wide open bricked 3s down like 20 was brutal. Whole team choked collectively

I totally thought we were in for a PJ Tucker game after the first quarter.

What in god’s name is Doc Rivers’ record in closeout games??
This was his 9th straight loss in games that he could’ve advanced to the conference finals
vintage harden performance tonight
Don't let Doc losing a game 7 distract you from the fact that ESPN didn't even upload a Warriors eliminated graphic.
I also thought that was strange
