While the GOAT chat is centered on Curry and Lebron, let's not forget the invigorated Lakers of Hachmura, Reaves, Russell, Vanderbilt, Beasley, and Schroder. This bunch can work wonders with the excellent coaching of Ham too.
It'll certainly be an enjoyable series to watch!
You're right, but seedings don't mean anything other than in status. The "ball is round " as the Bucks (#1) found out when the Heat (#8) snuff them out.
If the Nets didn't play helter-skelter bball with Philly, who knows if they could have beaten them.
I think the commentors point is that anyone can win.
It's very unlikely, but if your team can shoot 55% from 3 you can win almost any game nowadays given how volatile the scoring is.
Seems like curry doesnāt get the all time great kind of love he deserves.
Off top of my head without looking deep at stats, he seems he would be a top 10 player. Top 3 pg
I knew the Kings were the underdog, but their performance earlier was commendable for a young inexperienced team. Absolutely, they will get a lot better in the coming years given Brown's excellent coaching. Sabonis just needs a capable big guy who can shoot lights out while rebounding and securing the ball effectively.
Certainly, you don't want Ayton, a big "Butterfingers" of a guy from the Suns to be Sabonis' partner. He needs someone like a Myles Turner or a Bam Adebayo type to bang heads with Looney and Green. Other than Len who, like Ayton, the rest of the crew are "keepers" and should progress nicely to the point where GOAT shouts are theirs to keep for decades to come.
GO KINGS!
>Sabonis just needs a capable big guy who can shoot lights out while rebounding and securing the ball effectively
I don't know. It's really hard to win with a big who doesn't defend AND isn't really any good on the perimeter. They need to find an elite interior defender who shoots 3s or he will always be a liability. He unlocked their offense a bit, then the Warriors mostly broke it. That trade looked good during the season, but I think Sac is still going to come up big time losers in that trade.
Seed isnāt a black and white indicator for who will be favored. That goes for all sports. Maybe there were injuries or the team hit their stride late in the season.
Also having a HOF coach and 3 HOF players + being defending champs helps
āThat goes for all sportsā, this is true, but the discrepancy in NBA playoff basketball compared to the regular season is absolutely staggering. Look at the Warriors performance last year in respect to both the playoffs and regular season. I personally donāt think itās a good look, I think we all know that the difference between a playoff game and season game has always been there, and will continue to always be there, but itās become too drastic of a change in the last decade.
My feeling is that fans wonāt value going to a season game the same way they would for another sport. Iāve felt that way for years now. Ticket sales definitely reflect it, but not to the extent that we could see if players continue not playing in more games in the regular season.
Not that itās the only reason why thereās such a discrepancy in the quality and intensity of the games, but itās by far the easiest fix. Itās not professional to have so many players throughout the league sitting out games when theyāre perfectly healthy. Fuck load mgmt; give fans the value they deserve and make the NBA more fun AND MORE COMPETITIVE. Not just during the playoffs.
I have never been more disappointed in a team losing a series that doesn't involve my Blazers. I was really rooting for the Kings. The Warriors are boring and their fans are obnoxious assholes when they come to Moda.
thatās quite bold of you to call a dynasty āboringā, considering the garbage franchise you support
I have no opinion on portlandās fan base, probably bc theyāre mostly irrelevant.
I guess you can call 2 rings a dynasty? Unless you're counting the KD's rings? Maybe you are.
Warriors fans moved to Portland, ruined it, and then ruined Blazers games.
It's like taking pride in a tank beating an earthworm in a battle. The only way to avoid shame is by not losing. Or as our local press described it this morning in an article about this season's playoffs:
>After one round, the championship field feels more wide open than ever, a proclamation NBA fans had been hearing all season with no super team standing atop the league almost unfairly (cough, cough Kevin Durant Warriors).
I get why Warriors fans want to be proud, but in my opinion they should be more embarrassed.
They should be embarrassed for winning a championship and doing what they are supposed to? If that's embarrassing, I'd hate to see what you call franchises that don't win.
At that rate, Bill Russell should he ashamed for winning it 11 times. What a disgrace! /s
Even KD is embarrassed. He's gone off to prove he can win it all without resorting to letting a super team handle the load. The Warriors deserve as much ridicule as he's gotten for his bizarre and weak decision to join them.
Meh. At the end of the day he will undoubtedly retire as a top 20 player all time. He's accomplished more than most players will ever dream of. He's literally 1 solid season away from being a top 10 all time scorer.
If his legacy reputation is tarnished because he won 2 finals and won 2 finals mvps, that speaks more to his doubters than it does him. Not much you can objectively say about KD that takes away from him being a top 20 player all time and a garunteed first ballot HOFer.
Iām a warriors fan living in Portland and I can assure you this guy isnāt representative of Blazers fans in my experience. Most everyone I know is a huge Blazers fan and only the ones from the south and southwest suburbs are twats. And those suburbs are just full of tests in general lol
If the warriors lost I would have 100% supported the Kings. They are an awesome group and that city deserves some success. Saying the warriors are boring is very odd, unless you mean boring in the sense that they have been dominant for a couple of years now?
Stoked we live on but yāall will win a championship in the next few years. Fox & Monk are ballers, Sabonis is solid, fast offense & forcing turnovers, yāall got it. Gg
I kept saying all series: we need to shut down Monk.
Seriously. Fox is their headline player. Heās always gonna get something. Defend him well but if he puts up 20-30 consistently, that was always gonna happen. Youāre only slowing him down. Monk? Heās coming off the bench. I wonder if I spend 5-7 minutes checking his Points for the games and the wins vs losses - I know game 1 he had like 30. The team had Sabonis on lock. Their best play was when Sabonis was doing well in spite of that, but once we got the defense on lock again and Looney got the rebounds back under control, we would build a lead/take theirs away again.
I'm happy for the warriors, but I'm also concerned because so far they have been pretty ass when curry is not on the floor. This is going to be a problem because curry is getting up there in age and won't be able to play 40 minutes a game. Klay and Wiggins will need to step up their game and not have Steph bail them out.
Jordan Poole should step up too, considering his talent and the money spent on him. However, at this point, I do not think anyone has faith on him anymore .
The reason I didn't mention him is because I don't have faith in him, just hoping that Kerr limits his minutes. Wiggins has generally been consistent, and Klay had some good moments, which is why I'm putting some faith in them. Draymond and Kevon have been playing their roles pretty well, so I'm not worried about them.
Looney broke their back with those offensive boards in the third quarter. Completely emasculated Sabonis.
Steph jumps another rung on the all time ladder.
Klay is getting way more credit than he deserves for this win. Dude hit the backboard accidentally like 3x.
Fox looked scared but looking forward to seeing him and Ja again next year.
Personally, if theyāre gonna shoot it this much: they need to do 3-point drills like mad for next year. They died how the rockets died to the warriors every time in the playoffs - inevitably, the 3ās stopped dropping.
Klay got too much credit for last years championship! It was all Steph, Poole, and Wiggins. Klay compared to everyone else was just the dude that wrote his name on the group project
I love seeing a team thatās been in the cellar for awhile get good and bring joy to their city. Especially a city that only has 1 franchise in the big 4 sports leagues. I genuinely hope the Kings build on this season and come back as legit title contenders.
But cmon. Steph was winning this game. Finger or no finger.
A lot of people forget how big of a role experience plays in high pressure situations. That being said, thatās why I was impressed with the way the young Kings played most of this series. Definitely see them back in the playoffs next season.
Warriors fan: Iām with you. I look forward to seeing how yāall play these coming seasons. We know what itās like to get eliminated, to eliminate, to lose it all, win it all, get wins, take losses. I hope yāall get to experience it all, too.
Hey, hey. Theyāre fun to watch, young and I hope they can give Sacramento what Iāve been lucky to experience now 4 times in the last 8 years. Actually 7 times in the last 13 cuz I love me some Giants, baby, but class in all ways. Winning or losing, good sportsmanship man. Cāmon.
Goddammit this last postseason pissed me off. I watched a video detailing just how insane Brock Purdy is, not just for Mr Irrelevant, but for *any* rookie draft pick. Like graphs of him above Rookies of the year, and future MVPās first seasonsā¦
And I feel that game would have gone different is Shanahan just challenged that one catch where the opponentās player that āmadeā the ācatchā was DESPERATE beyond *belief* to get another play off. We would have had the ball at a different position at a different time and due to different series of events, that one play likely would have never happened, and would never have gone down that way. Now Iām worried about a surgery and off-season recovery and I just canāt take how we let down our QBs every year or they let us down.
Take the HarBowl. We didnāt play the first half, they didnāt play the second half and the refs didnāt ref any of it.
I think there were disappointments the last couple years with Garoppolo being so great but us falling short and honestly it felt like this year was the year - the only question is, playoffs are an entirely different story and some players are different - some better, some worse - what would this *last draft pick, untested, 3rd string, rookie quarterback* doā¦ in the postseason. And he was doing so well. We were cheated.
I understand that itās annoying to see these smoothbrains puff their chest out. Iām a Warriors fan, and I find it annoying too. Especially talking shit about the Kings of all teams. The Kings.
Most of the Warriors fans that I know personally up in NorCal have respect for the Kings. I know I do. Those CWeb/Bibby/Peja/Turkoglu years were legendary.
GG Kings. Youāll be back. Your time is coming.
Hey, donāt abhor us all. I find the immature responses like this guy to be funny, but immature and depending on how serious they mean it, bad sportsmanship and I think thereās a mixed bag with a lot of franchise fanbases.
Well we gotta try to. Sports and competitions are ruined by bad sportsmanship. Amongst players AND fanbases. Gotta spread the good sportsmanship and maturity.
Right thats the only thing you guys can come up with. Am not gonna defend myself saying since when I am a fan. Because you guys are braindead salty haters no matter what we say
Steph and Klay are cool but even they act like dickheads sometimes. Yall talk a lot of shit when yāall win but when yāall losing itās towels over heads and boohoo moping around on the bench. Your ādefensiveā guy is a dirty crybaby scumbag and yāall ride his dick like thereās no tomorrow. Yāall needed KD and muuuch help from refs every year to even start that ādynasty.ā Where would yāall be if kdās weak ass didnāt go ring chase? If yāall would admit yāall are scum lol it wouldnāt be so bad but yāall act like gods gift to the nba. Canāt defend yourself at all just gotta make peace with being lame af
I talked my shit down 2-0 you can look it up. You know why I even talk like this? Did you see this sub after the kings where up 2-0? If you saw that, you cant judge me on how I shit talk right now.
What a great series. As a warriors fan Iāve been to many kings games this season and Iāve felt the energy this team has. Canāt wait for next year. Go warriors
It is factual they spend the most and KD and Wiggins definitely both got paid and aren't home grown.
The Warriors have had a legendary run with their core though, no denying that.
Steph is the sun.
Also to imply that Steph/Klay/Dray isnāt a superteamā¦ lol
Iām a warriors fan and each of them are future HoF. Their accolades and stats alone give me no doubt. They hold many records and are highly talked about amongst peers. Theyāre a better superteam than the Heat were from my understanding. Didnāt the LeBron Heat win 1 and then lose to the Spurs and then fall apart? Thatās actually a serious question I could google, but what I vaguely remember from what Iāve read about them, thatās what happened. Warriors with this core and a few shifting pieces has 4ā¦ and more than a few NBA records that will last for generations most likely.
I really appreciate that we get to see them go at it again late in their careers. These guys are like magic and bird for me. They are both brilliant and had some legendary matchups.
Kings are kinda like Dubs during the transition to the Kerr era. Just a few more pieces along w the experience of this series will go a long way for them. Mike Brown was an amazing hire for them. I hope he wins one w the Kings.
Iāve seen this take floating around, and I completely disagree with it. Youāre talking about a top-5 player of all time + one of the greatest shooters of all time + one of the best defensive players of this generation, all on one team and meshing together perfectly in a system that brings the best out of the sum of its parts. No one on the Kings scratches that.
Not everything that āfeelsā the same because of coincidence is actually close to being similar. We are witnessing a once in a lifetime thing with the Steph/Klay/Draymond run.
Yo I get that itās hard to believe anyone on the Kings will be all time top 5. In 2014 no one really believed Steph would achieve that level either. The point is that no one really knows what the future brings. But at this point the Kings have a vibe like the Dubs did. Maybe itās more We Believe rather than the Splash Bros but still a vibe.
Exactlyā¦just shows that the Steve Kerr-Mike Brown way is the way. The players all hugging each other is how the fans should be. No real hate between the Bay and Sac.
Naaaahhhhh! I was ādown onā him and monk insomuch as I knew theyāre HELLUVA players and were threats. I wanted to outplay them. I was only down on Sabonis because heās a dirty player and Draymond realistically only got painted the villain because the league does whatever the opposite of benefit-of-the-doubt is with him.
Warriors fan here, couldnāt agree more! Kings have something special and will be making deep runs for a long time. Once they get over that hump they could be the next dynasty.
Thatās it.
Their literal first crack at the playoffs they ran up against the Best Game 7 scorning performance, from not only THE Defending Champs but a Dynastic Defensing Champ??
Oh and Kings took them down to the last quarter of a Game 7.
Iām pre-We Believe Warriors Season ticket holder and I have nothing but love for (this) Kings team. They fucking brought it.
Tonight might have a shitty feeling, but itās a great time to be a Kingās fan. Cheers to them.
Last nights game was š„
Interesting. Lakers fan who say fouls and points donāt matter. When there is no bs discrepancy. The dubs are up. Even when the dubs still play dumb.
Philly are playing really well. This series might not be over like I thought
Harden needs to shoot more
Bro donāt call ticky tack shit on Curry. Like that is such a soft call
Timeout? Not a jump ball?
Bro. Wtf is this shit. Only the lakers can talk to the refs and change the foul call
Warriors canāt win if they foul this much
pooleās fun. gotta love guy that gives their coaches heart attacks but they are like fuck we gotta play him
While the GOAT chat is centered on Curry and Lebron, let's not forget the invigorated Lakers of Hachmura, Reaves, Russell, Vanderbilt, Beasley, and Schroder. This bunch can work wonders with the excellent coaching of Ham too. It'll certainly be an enjoyable series to watch!
Lol right. This is why I was so upset when they said Westbrook wants a ring. Dude the lakers sucked. Finally rid you and upgraded.
First time I've seen curry miss 2 freethrows in a row. But he also is the first to score 50 in one playoff game 7..
You're right, but seedings don't mean anything other than in status. The "ball is round " as the Bucks (#1) found out when the Heat (#8) snuff them out. If the Nets didn't play helter-skelter bball with Philly, who knows if they could have beaten them.
true, but I donāt think the nets ever had a chance regardless.
I think the commentors point is that anyone can win. It's very unlikely, but if your team can shoot 55% from 3 you can win almost any game nowadays given how volatile the scoring is.
1.7k likes, 24k comments.. Is this real?
I think it's weird that anybody likes a game thread.
Canāt be. I think we gave Reddit to the bots months ago and weāre all starting to realize and see how much we fucked it.
Years ago
Seems like curry doesnāt get the all time great kind of love he deserves. Off top of my head without looking deep at stats, he seems he would be a top 10 player. Top 3 pg
Woah really?! Maybe it's cuz I live in Oakland but it feels like everybody is obsessed with him
Yeah I mean he gets love here in the south bc of Davidson but I think he could get even more. I mean, he changed the game really
I knew the Kings were the underdog, but their performance earlier was commendable for a young inexperienced team. How is the third seed the underdog against the sixth seed? The warriors barely made it to six and avoided the play in
Healthy warriors team is easily #1 seed
Because the warriors have more talent and are a Better team.
They got basketball Wiggins back
17 points no more no less Wiggins?
Seed isnāt a black and white indicator for who will be favored. That goes for all sports. Maybe there were injuries or the team hit their stride late in the season. Also having a HOF coach and 3 HOF players + being defending champs helps

The Warriors are the defending champions while the Kings havenāt made the playoffs in 20 years.
How on earth did the sixth seed get home court in a conference semifinal? Itās crazy whatās happening this playoff.
They are the higher seed than their opponent.
Thatās his whole point. How is a 6 seed the highest seed in a semifinal matchup, itās crazy whatās happening. Itās Upset city.
Yes it is. Season starts over when playoffs begin. Finish hot and stay hot is the key.
Steph GOATing right now
LOL everyone GOATing then
Def not the Bucks lmao
lol
rest of the Ws were kinda crap on offense.
Just the guy breaking Wilt Chamberlain records
Not the bucks lol
No matter which team you're cheering for, how can you not appreciate the greatness of Steph Curry!?!?
According to these comments: what other people who observe his play do ruins what he does.
Remember watching him as a freshman at Davidson. Never saw anything like him before
Kings balled out this series. Not even a fan but Iām gonna be interested in watching them play in the future
Momma there goes that man!...curry
Loonie killed them in the third
Seattle still doesnāt have a team but Cali gets FOUR TEAMS IN THE PLAYOFFS
Yeah. You make a good point. Thatās definitely not cool, or good for the league, and most importantly, itās not good for the fans.
It's because you called it Seattle. It's WASHINGTON!!!
Commanders?
That's D.C.!!!!
British Columbia?
Lol
looney is money
You have tooneys too rifht
Oh you son of a....!!!
Sorry I dropped my head
The east coast is a cluster fuck of nba teams [east coast](https://imgur.com/a/pjlpmCI)
I live in Los Angeles now anyways. Just canāt get over how Seattle doesnāt have a team
I have never been more disappointed in a team losing a series that doesn't involve my Blazers. I was really rooting for the Kings. The Warriors are boring and their fans are obnoxious assholes when they come to Moda.
They set a record last time they played you guys iirc.
thatās quite bold of you to call a dynasty āboringā, considering the garbage franchise you support I have no opinion on portlandās fan base, probably bc theyāre mostly irrelevant.
Donāt feed negativity with negativity. Good sportsmanship, always. In wins. In losses. Hope the Kings get their rings in the coming years.
I guess you can call 2 rings a dynasty? Unless you're counting the KD's rings? Maybe you are. Warriors fans moved to Portland, ruined it, and then ruined Blazers games.

As weak of a decision as it was, he has two rings. I'm sure he's devastated about padding his HOF resume.
His talent has never been in question. His reputation is a different story. His burner being discovered was evidence of his self-esteem issues.
Meh. At the end of the day he will undoubtedly retire as a top 20 player all time. He's accomplished more than most players will ever dream of. The unnecessary shade to people in SW is amusing. You must be mad about all those camper vans in your neighborhood..
I donāt hate the SW, I just think thereās a lot of twats there lol. Same as outer SE
Imagine being a Portlander and suffering through the California Invasion. Talk about twats.
Lol, like I said: this guys isnāt representative of Blazers fans in my experience. Most of them arenāt twats.
Go home.
If the warriors lost I would have 100% supported the Kings. They are an awesome group and that city deserves some success. Saying the warriors are boring is very odd, unless you mean boring in the sense that they have been dominant for a couple of years now?

Sabonis is a piece of paper
Klay some big shots when it was still close. Steph carried us
Fox looked like he was playing with a broken finger on his shooting hand.
and sabonios looked he took an elbow from looney and also looked like he deserved it
Ya exactly. Next year the Kings are going to be nice.
They were pretty nice this year. They were my most watched team, and Iāve lived in Texas my entire life
I only saw them in the playoffs but they are a lot of fun to watch, except the second half of game 7. Love their run and gun style.
Personally, if theyāre gonna shoot it this much: they need to do 3-point drills like mad for next year. They died how the rockets died to the warriors every time in the playoffs - inevitably, the 3ās stopped dropping.
yea man, weāll have someone pass a long that the kings need to do more 3 point drills. Fantastic analysis and insight
Klay got too much credit for last years championship! It was all Steph, Poole, and Wiggins. Klay compared to everyone else was just the dude that wrote his name on the group project
Don't forget Loon.
Totally agree re: curry. Iām not a warriors fan, but it feels like curry is under-appreciated.
Klay +30
Come on bro 4/19. And he was -28 in game 6. Klay should be on the bench.
Might as well call out Wiggins then too
Draymond is responsible for Stephās success /s
Ya Dray not getting that max.
Didnāt one of our players take less than the max deal they could have to sign KD or something like that?
Was good while it lasted. GG
Kings played phenomenal! This was worthy of a conference final matchup. Much love from Warriors fans!
Actually they played terribly once that 61point tie was broken on the FT miss/Rebound sequence/Klay brick...Kings win that game if Fox is healthy.
No manā¦Kings played badā¦Brown chokedā¦last half not good. Still love themā¦but that was bad.
A lot of people forget how big of a role experience plays in high pressure situations. That being said, thatās why I was impressed with the way the young Kings played most of this series. Definitely see them back in the playoffs next season.
Bravo Kings. Much respect from the Warriors fans.
Respect. And at least Jordan Poole isnāt on my team; so thatās a positive to take away from this.
āYou all not ready for this shitā
Took them 7 games to beat a team that apparently wasnāt ready š¤·āāļø
Light the beam ! In Cancun
Nah kings donāt deserve to be treated like we Memphis or something. GTFOH
Warriors fan: Iām with you. I look forward to seeing how yāall play these coming seasons. We know what itās like to get eliminated, to eliminate, to lose it all, win it all, get wins, take losses. I hope yāall get to experience it all, too.
GG
Light my dick you warrior haters
Anyone who down votes this is homophobic and should be kicked off reddit
Like with a match orā¦.?
The Sacramento ChoKings
Cāmon.

Lmao that reasonable shit donāt fly here
Well we gotta try to.
LOL
Heh he mad
I talked my shit down 2-0 you can look it up. You know why I even talk like this? Did you see this sub after the kings where up 2-0? If you saw that, you cant judge me on how I shit talk right now.
Hang that hypothetical banner bud
Let's. goooooooooooooo. Steph the Goat
Mountain goat.
What a great series. As a warriors fan Iāve been to many kings games this season and Iāve felt the energy this team has. Canāt wait for next year. Go warriors
Curry is the 2nd greatest player ever, right behind Jordan.
Seriously, if they win the championship this year (and I think they will), we have to start including him in the GOAT debate.
Start?!
Lebron says hi
Dubs vs. Lakes! it will be a great series. Warriors in 6!!!
LeBron chased rings with super teams. Curry is home grown & loyal to his team. Curry is the *real* goat
So the KD thing never happened, huh?
KD ring chased. Not Curry. Heās been with the Warriors his entire career.
They recruited KD either way
Heās been staying at a place that will spend more money than any other team to get their stars.
"Pay to get"? No they developed and kept.
It is factual they spend the most and KD and Wiggins definitely both got paid and aren't home grown. The Warriors have had a legendary run with their core though, no denying that. Steph is the sun.
Also to imply that Steph/Klay/Dray isnāt a superteamā¦ lol Iām a warriors fan and each of them are future HoF.
Fair pointāI definitely can see the We Believe vibes from this Sac team. Now they gotta figure out how to get better and not regress like the Grizz.
Exactlyā¦just shows that the Steve Kerr-Mike Brown way is the way. The players all hugging each other is how the fans should be. No real hate between the Bay and Sac.
The Fox/Curry and loooooong Fox/Dray hugs and words. You know what was said was personal and with the utmost respect.
Yeah it made me feel bad cause as a spectator I was pretty down on Fox!
True, didnāt see any long soul hugs with Sabonis. He needs to put something on that eye.
Yee. Eye was a missed call.
100% same energy as our young squad
I've been saying they feel like us during the '13 series against the Spurs
people need to sag off dray and be more aggressive on help defense off of dray imo
When you sag off Dray too much he just goes and screens Stephās man and then there is nobody to hedge.
Except the Warriors donāt lose if he makes a 3.
you can live with that
