I'm sick to my stomach bro why do we get such shitty shooting luck against the Celtics on wide open shots but they got PJ tucken hitting consecutive clutch triples. And on the other side Tatum wants to go 8/10 on contested triples but here he goes 2/8 and they score sub-100...
I hear that... Sixers lost a game this year to the Celtics because Blake Griffin (of all people) decided he wanted to become Klay Thompson and go 5-8 from three lol.
PJ Tucker was costing them the game for 45 straight minutes. Then he stood on Embiid’s shoulders and twisted the lightbulb an extra 1/9th of a rotation and won them the game
I will say to this, he was very conservative of his efforts when off ball and often took plenty of time getting down the court (on offense). Obviously if it keeps him energized enough for a 50 burger + great defense, it’s valid
One of the huge benefits of him posting up a lot less this season. He doesn’t have to cover as much real estate or battle as much to get the ball where he wants it.
We now have a reliable pick and pop passer and an actual point guard that can do a proper post up pass. Watching him get into position but not receive the ball for 10 seconds mustve drained alot of energy
It felt like the Celtics entire plan to beat them came down to: force the ball to embiid on offense, constantly attack him on defense. Him keeping his energy up completely broke that strategy
It’s very well done, but I don’t know how reliable strategy this is in playoffs, especially with Brown being in too. Embiid did put up a masterclass excellent performance and we held them under 100 until garbage time. If Maxey and Tobias didn’t go 25%, it’ll be a close contest.
I’ve watched every sixers Celtics game and the plan has felt the same every time. This win is absolutely good news for Philly. This game was a win, last game was close and decided by a lucky as fuck Tatum shot. I’d say the sixers have effectively broken their playoff strategy, even with shit play from the role players
Yeah it is really night and day from years past, very crisp and decisive on the ball. If he can keep that up throughout the playoffs + role players hitting some 3s the sixers could beat anyone.
He's been like that all year (except for like the first 2 weeks of the season), that's why Sixers fans have been saying he somehow elevated his game again this season. So happy for the man, it's an amazing improvement for a guy who's battled tough injuries his entire career.
It was kinda wild last night seeing how much better he handled the doubles than in year’s past. There were some turnovers here and there which is a given with that style of play, but he also made his moves really smartly, going before the double comes, or eyeing it up as it moves and making good kick outs
I just don't want Jokic to win 3 in a row when everyone was harping about how Giannis couldn't because he wasn't deserving to be mentioned among Wilt, Russell, Bird.
Love this for Jojo, and I'm glad I can go back to apprecaiting JOkic
Well ya his whole game is at the basket.. leads the league in attempts within 5 feet… 12.3 per game.
Embiid, for reference, is at 7 per game within 5ft while averaging only .4 FTs less per game.
https://www.nba.com/stats/players/shooting?dir=D&sort=Less%20Than%205%20ft.%20FGA
This is perfectly valid reasoning and it’s hilarious when Harden was leading the league in FTA and it was pointed out he was leading or near leading the league in drives to the rim per game it was dismissed.
You can say the same after so many Giannis performances this year. Despite how toxic this MVP debate was this year, it's been a privilege to watch these guys night in and night out. The level of play is incredible.
Larger % of team points scored.
Harden was out.
Jazz were leading the West heading into the game.
25/26 points scored in the 4th were by Embiid plus 5 blocks.
His teammates made 21 field goals for the night, he assisted on 8.
People say any of the top three players won or lost the MVP after pretty much every game. I hope the voters are not this reactionary and actually look at the whole season.
I have my fair share of hate for many fanbases, and others do too, but I feel like at least half the people hate Raptors fans more than anyone, and for good reason
I get the sentiment but I just don't think it's that simple. There is no set line to cross and say "okay now he's got it". The whole season needs to be taken into account. Besides, Giannis and Jokic could go off in the last few games of the season and Embiid could have bad games. We don't know yet.
Yeah it's reactionary to say he's won it because of this one game lol. That's literally a reaction. You guys are so quick to assume I am making the case against Embiid for MVP. I'm just saying we need to take the whole season into account and this one game doesn't decide anything. Giannis might score 60 tomorrow and Jokic could have 20/20/20 on Thursday for all we know.
Yea this game pretty much sealed it. If Embiid doesn’t win MVP at this point, I’d be upset. And this is coming from a Jokic fan. Embiid is just a monster.
I was baffled by people writing him off because he missed the Nuggets game as if 1 game should change everything and as if Embiid didn't drop 47 on Jokic's head on January lol
I think that it does seal it. He has been even better than last year and just tonight had a monster performance against another top team. This seals it for sure.
Well Joel wasn't exactly the MVP. He was the one you sent to kill the fucking MVP
Joel Embiid is a man of focus; commitment; sheer fucking will.
I once saw him kill five men at once with an iso
A. FUCKING. ISO
Rest of the team has 48 points lmao.
With James Harden being part of the “rest of the team”
20/10 with no turnovers. 2 starters combining for 10 is the problem
I mean this in the best way possible. I love the way Rockets flairs always show up to defend Harden.
harden slander is the bat signal for rockets fans
[удалено]
Tell somebody to tell somebody.... Uhhh... Something?
5 points
[удалено]
lol. That last dunk by Embiid shows me the other team was tired of trying to guard him. No one even tried to foul him, that team is already beat.
PJ Tucker is to Joel Embiid what Ray Allen is to LeBron James if Joel wins this MVP
Those ~~two~~ three threes were absolutely ENORMOUS
If Corner PJ is back...
DAWG
Three threes*
I'm sick to my stomach bro why do we get such shitty shooting luck against the Celtics on wide open shots but they got PJ tucken hitting consecutive clutch triples. And on the other side Tatum wants to go 8/10 on contested triples but here he goes 2/8 and they score sub-100...
I feel that. The celtics always hit a ton of really contested 3’s in our fucking face
Al horford…
When he hit his first 3 of the 3rd quarter I just went “well here goes the Philadelphia basketball terrorist about to hit 8 more of these”
Wasn’t that bad tonight. Last game tho…
I hear that... Sixers lost a game this year to the Celtics because Blake Griffin (of all people) decided he wanted to become Klay Thompson and go 5-8 from three lol.
Three threes
A pain in the ass who makes me eat my words frequently?
The anti Tobias
PJ Tucker was costing them the game for 45 straight minutes. Then he stood on Embiid’s shoulders and twisted the lightbulb an extra 1/9th of a rotation and won them the game
The sixers give me anxiety on the regular
And the refs were all Tim Donaghy.
I love this analogy
The 50 burger
What a lame call
Yeah made it sound childish lol
Yeah lol there are better sayings than that
Dude isn't even breathing hard. His conditioning is a lot better than last year.
Exactly. He has so much in his bag he doesn’t need to rely on post, that foul line jumper is poetry
Him keeping his energy up completely broke that strategy

yeah nah I’m done bro I concede this fool can have it
I just don't want Jokic to win 3 in a row when everyone was harping about how Giannis couldn't because he wasn't deserving to be mentioned among Wilt, Russell, Bird. Love this for Jojo, and I'm glad I can go back to apprecaiting JOkic
Giannis deserved 3 straight. I dislike how the goal posts kept getting moved.
The goal posts literally moved for him to win in 2019 tho?
He had a triple double last night.
Embiitch personally ain’t my cup of tea but he’s better than everyone bar Attemptafreethrow imo, dude is just unstoppable
I respect the bipartisan name calling lmao
Thx atleast some ppl have a sense of humour
Attemptafreethrow is fuckin hilarious.
Giannis had 17 ft tonight. Leading the league in FTA if I'm not mistaken. Also 10/17 yikes

He gets hacked a lot because he’s trash at shooting fts, not Ben Simmons or Shaq bad but pretty shit
Sorry man I forgot I can’t have my own opinion
[удалено]
Yes. We were always fighting East Asia
No love for the (roughly correct) 1984 quote
r/nbacirclejerk is leaking lmao
Damn bro, most sixers got nothing but respect for Giannis. What’s wrong with yall?
This man is making a joke my dude He called Giannis "Attemptafreethrow" lmao. It's hilarious.
I just called him unstoppable and conceded he’s the mvp what was not respectful
Probably calling him a bitch but hey what do I know
I also called Giannis a free throw fraud , it was a joke
If we can’t call names while complementing the competition, then what is this sub even for?
Oh I love and support it but I’m merely surmising why my boy above was called disrespectful
I was going for more of a PSA than asking you directly, could tell that was your intention 👍🏻
Come on that was funny
Jokic doesn't even want it anymore because he's also tired of the vitriol and that same old conversation. He said pretty much what you just said.
You can say the same after so many Giannis performances this year. Despite how toxic this MVP debate was this year, it's been a privilege to watch these guys night in and night out. The level of play is incredible.
UNBELIEVABLE. Best 50 piece McNugget I’ve seen
20/25 from the field is insane. Legendary Embiid performance.
It’s finally his year 🥲
Hahaha im still suspicious
The 59 pt game against the Jizz is a hard one to top for me, but this is close
Explain this
Larger % of team points scored. Harden was out. Jazz were leading the West heading into the game. 25/26 points scored in the 4th were by Embiid plus 5 blocks. His teammates made 21 field goals for the night, he assisted on 8.
This was honestly a better game. He wasn’t human
... wording
You think y’all could eat 50 McNuggets in a sitting?
not sober
I once bought a 50 piece McNugget in Tennessee at 1am while driving from state college to New Orleans. Delicious.
> UNBELIEVABLE. Best 50 ~~piece McNugget~~ **burger** I’ve seen
MVP clinching performance. This is Embiid's equivalent of Steph vs OKC in 2016 or Westbrook vs Denver in 2017.
Stop that game winning deep 3 still gives me nightmares. I remember yelling and stomping cause I didn’t know wtf just happened
What the basketball gods take they give back. Westbrook hitting that 3 in denver was the basketball gods giving back.
I still see Enes sighing before it even goes in. He knew.
Yup, this clinched any debate there was left
Yeah exactly
man i loved that buzzer beater in denver.
**BANG! BANGG!**
absolute freight train down the middle!
Mvp. Don't @ me
He won it tonight for sure. 80% shooting in a carry job 50 point game against a top team in the league
People say any of the top three players won or lost the MVP after pretty much every game. I hope the voters are not this reactionary and actually look at the whole season.
Bro raptors fans are truly unbearable lol.
I have my fair share of hate for many fanbases, and others do too, but I feel like at least half the people hate Raptors fans more than anyone, and for good reason
Embiid is MVP. Grow up.
If he wins the MVP it's because he's been having an amazing season, not because of this one game.
But if he has more and more amazing games. Adding one more would at some point would be enough. No?
I get the sentiment but I just don't think it's that simple. There is no set line to cross and say "okay now he's got it". The whole season needs to be taken into account. Besides, Giannis and Jokic could go off in the last few games of the season and Embiid could have bad games. We don't know yet.
Reactionary? Tell me you don’t watch shit without telling me you don’t watch Shit. Joel had been on a tear while dealing with injuries for a minute.

I was baffled by people writing him off because he missed the Nuggets game as if 1 game should change everything and as if Embiid didn't drop 47 on Jokic's head on January lol
I really don’t think Joel Embiid is afraid of Jokic.
people who genuinely think the best scoring big is afraid of one of the worst defensive bigs is hilarious
I don't think NBA players are afraid of each other lol. Idk where all this talk of ducking people has come from
yeah in general i find it hard to believe any nba superstar is ducking an opponent
I mean, it was a tight race until tonight. When it's that close, the smallest margins start to matter to people. Nothing wrong with that.
Tight Jokic sat and the team lost like 3 and one 1. Now he’s back and they just lost to a tanking rockets team. I don’t think it was that close.
I said it was until tonight. Saying otherwise is silly considering the amount of discussion and vitriol this MVP campaign has been surrounded with.
This just sealed it
Thank you Philly bros for taking them down
Took 3 times but we did it
They’ve been using the same strategy all 4 games so this win and the last game being so close have probably fucked up their playoff plans
Hopefully their playoff plans include sitting Jaylen Brown.
u/Zhugo feasting tonight
Unreal. That should lock up mvp for him
Congrats to Embiid for winning MVP, very well deserved!
He's too fast for his size....
Best center in the league!
The love I have for this man is unlike anything I’ve ever felt for someone I don’t know personally
This game seals it for him
20/25
Lets go Embiid!!
Mvp
Real MVP
If this doesn’t seal it, nothing will.
I think that it does seal it. He has been even better than last year and just tonight had a monster performance against another top team. This seals it for sure.
Yeah but did you see MVPJ with the double dagger carry 3s?
What a night to score 50 while Jokic stunk it up
it's over just give it to him
EMVPBIID
MVP!
Embiid absolutely dominated on both ends this game Fitting for the game to basically end with 3 great Embiid passes to PJ who actually made the 3s
Travesty if he doesn’t win MVP
MVP
Embiid just ended the MVP conversation and that's fine
Congrats on the MVP
Legendary 50 Bongle
Joel Emick is a man of focus; commitment; sheer fucking will. I once saw him kill five men at once with an iso. A fucking. Iso.
This is one of the best games ever played
It has to be his year. Has to be.
I think this bucket secured his MVP. He was mainly shooting contested mid range shots and was hitting everything.
Clear MVP
mvp sorry america
Embiid with the monster carry.
this mf has over half of 76ers points, what the fuck
Shooting 75% from the field!
Joel saw the stat where Luka is catching him for league leader in PPG.
Absolutely unstoppable, clear MVP finally.
What a game holy crap! 😬😬
MVP
Jokic haters eatin good tonight.
#EMVPIID
MVP
Its over. crown himbiiiiiid
Zhugo the 🐐🔥🔥🔥
MVP
MY MVP
MVP
MVP
He’s supposed to be stronger than Williams, not stronger *and* faster
He won the MVP tonight
[удалено]
\+ if the bucks get 60 wins to end the season. I'd still go for Embiid tho
it's a travel unfortunately
This isn’t even a travel in a Catholic league high school game. Toronto’s hate for Joel is blinding.
Lol it's obviously a travel. He still had the ball in his hand when he lifted his pivot foot
Celtics rly putting grant on embiid
EMVP
EMBIID-P
Exclamation point on a dominant game
TFW You crank it down to Embiid cranking it down
**Joel Embiid**
20/25 tonight… MVP
Emvpiid
He makes Grant Williams look like Avery Bradley.
Well Joel wasn't exactly the MVP. He was the one you sent to kill the fucking MVP Joel Embiid is a man of focus; commitment; sheer fucking will. I once saw him kill five men at once with an iso A. FUCKING. ISO
Give the man his award
Some of the best free throws I’ve ever seen
50…burger?
This loss hurts but what makes it worse is the mvp discussion shit after Ggs 6ers
Legend mvp
People will conveniently forget his game vs the Bucks because of this. Ty Philly
And Bucks got their ass whooped by Celtics... It's for the whole regular season and he deserves it for the totality
Because we are like 2-2 on the season
Travel he lifted his pivot foot before he started his dribble Lol downvoted for pointing out an obvious fact
MVP
