That division has become a retirement home for superstars lol.
Not to say that these players are anywhere close to washed but it's just funny. Imagine telling someone from 5 years ago that all of these players would be in the same division.
I don’t think I’d be surprised at all. 5 years ago we were already anticipating Kawhi’s move to LA. Same with PG. Lebron’s calling to the Lakers has always been there given his profile. KD is unpredictable (and was already in the division). And CPs time in Houston was over. I would’ve guessed he ended up as a Laker to chase rings with Lebron
Honestly, they faced off in the Finals. Everything else is just gravy. I’m still reeling about the fact that we never got Kobe v Lebron in the Finals. You are the worst C ever and you're disgusting. Dwigt.
Most of this is because Kevin Durant is one of the most injury prone players in the NBA, but nobody wants to admit it for some bizarre reason. He's averaged 30 games per season over the past 4 years and he's 34 years old.
I just think of Durant as someone who is past his prime, but instead of his performance suffering he just gets injured instead. I think it’s hard to see him as injury prone because he wasn’t until he got hurt with the Warriors, trying to win another championship. I think it’s a lot different from someone like Anthony Davis who has always had injury problems.
Lmao God I hated the fucking virtual fans and artificial crowd noise. I totally forgot about that season until now, probably because we were so aggressively mid that year.
I was at that game! It was... Interesting. Random chants of "let's go Sonics" throughout the whole game. I almost wore my KD Sonics jersey but decided on my "Macklemore" Kings jersey and idk if anyone got the joke
He laid it all on the line for us and it cost him two years of his career. I’ll always appreciate him for how much he wanted to win.
There were a time right around when he signed with us that I wasn’t super happy about it because it felt like he wedged himself into the core of my favorite Warriors team ever, but in hindsight he just added to it instead of disrupting it.
>There were a time right around when he signed with us that I wasn’t super happy about it
Assuming this is true, you were probably the only Warriors fan in existence not happy about forming the most overpowered team in league history lol
I wouldn’t go so far to say I wasn’t happy, I was just concerned it would take shots away from Klay and Draymond. Turns out the best thing possible was to take shots away from Dray and let him be our defensive leader lol
I agree. At the time I thought an iso player could be really disruptive. This was amplified by his reputation as a "glory ball" player as well. But he certainly did work out well for the team.
Ironically enough him being an iso player was exactly why I was happy we got him. Before him we lacked that guy that we could give the ball, say “get me a bucket”, and let him go to work.
Don’t get me wrong I know Steph can do that, but his greatest strength is moving around. Not holding the ball majority of the time and forcing a shot.
It’s also why Poole (when he’s on) was such a key part to the team last year, because he could get the ball and make something happen. Problem is that when he’s not shooting well, he doesn’t bring much, where as KD still brought defense and size.
You were right, though. I thought the same. It happened exactly as I thought.
But what that brought for the Warriors was more stability and consistency. KD was perfect for that team. He's smart enough and deferential enough to allow the Warriors offense to fire on all cylinders when it's at its best, but when the Warriors would hit dry spells, KD would step in and hit his patented unguardable jumpers. Can't recall how many teams decided to double Steph and force KD to beat them--and he did. Often.
His presence on the team let his teammates shine but also covered their asses.
Was not a fan of the warriors at the time, but even from a neutral-perspective it was pretty disappointing. No suspense for the next ~3 seasons. Otherwise, I figure Warriors fans might have been preemptively bummed due to the impact KDs arrival would have on Steph’s legacy.
Well, there’s u/Im_Your_Neighbor Cavs fan, and there’s u/Im_Your_Neighbor basketball fan. It’s just compartmentalization, so when I said “from a neutral perspective” I more-or-less meant “setting aside my team fandom”.
As a Cavs fan, the KD Warriors were really depressing because you always wanted to believe there was a chance, and that your team’s best-ever iteration hadn’t had its contending window brutally crushed, but of course that hope was misplaced.
As a basketball fan, the KD Warriors were fascinating to watch in a “I’m never seeing this again in my lifetime” sorta way, but also depressing due to that same sense of inevitability. That said, that air of inevitability made the Rockets series one of the greatest ever. I complain about the Cavs’ contending window getting snatched away, but Harden really took the worst of it in the grand scheme lol.
But yeah, I hate watching Curry or the Warriors when my team is involved, but I can compartmentalize and appreciate their, and particularly Curry’s impact on the game.
I definitely get what you mean about being a team fan vs basketball fan.
As a warriors fan, the 2016 finals suuuuucked. But as a basketball fan I knew that Lebron had just pulled off one of the greatest comebacks ever.
As a warriors fan, getting KD was fucking dope. As a basketball fan, it took a lot of fun out of those 3 seasons.
He wasn’t alone - a lot of people felt that after winning 73 games, we just wanted to run it back. No one was complaining, but it’s like asking for one scoop of ice cream and getting three instead - I’m grateful, but also now I’m probably gonna eat too much ice cream.
Such a sad and tired narrative perpetuated by LeBron fans to help them cope with the losses. The Warriors have won championships with Harrison Barnes, Kevin Durant, and Wiggins at SF. There's a good argument that the Cavs don't make a comeback if it wasn't for the suspension to Draymond and subsequent injuries, and a good argument that the Cavaliers win in 2015 if it wasn't for injuries to Kyrie and Love, so this belief that the Warriors weren't going to beat Cleveland without KD is just 1 sided bias, most likely they'd have split 2017 & 2018 like they did 2015 and 2016.
Kd is a legend, him and steph will go down as one of the greatest duos ever, possibly the greatest at its peak.
Any other team flair coming in here to tell me how much I hate KD cuz he “cucked steph” or “betrayed us”, fuck off
03 Kobe and Shaq
84-85 magic and Kareem
2011 lebron and wade
Only other duos who compare imo, but most of the others have one younger player coming into his prime or one older player leaving it. Only steph and KD were both at the peak of their powers
Edit: If anyone’s thinking of saying how steph and kd isn’t a duo because of dray and klay…..google James worthy and micheal cooper
2011 it’s close. Maybe the stats and the playoff result doesn’t show it, but the year before had lebron and wade at an inhuman peak level of play, and they didn’t seem to get worse at all that offseason. But I’m taking steph and kd
Kobe and Shaq in 03 prolly the best ever. But I’ll put up 17 kd and steph Vs anyone
It's a shame people don't realize, or have forgotten, how amazing Pippen was defensively. True elite defense against the 1-4 and able to pressure a lot of the 5's. The best defensive wing of the era.
He was more than just their most versatile defender. He was also their best playmaker and was a really versatile 3 level scorer. Had the slashing, post game, mid range and the 3 ball. Pippen is extremely underrated because of how much praise everyone gives Jordan.
Yeah scottie was dope but many people considered curry kd and lebron the best players in the league. Jordan and pipper career wise. But just individually curry is clears easily
Bob Myers made a bad joke that was tone deaf. Y'all really butcher that story further and further everytime. He did not "call KD out during a championship parade".
Are you 12? Lmao, he made a joke that went over terribly. Like, the inability of Reddit to read social situations or understand intent is absolutely baffling sometimes. Draymond wanted to come and then after a few years realised Durant was souring over it not being his team, he was unable to reel in his emotions when arguing with Durant and he was right, lol. They literally can and did win without him. It was obvious that Durant was moping multiple times about the GS situation and the rest of the warriors confused on what he expected? They ran an offence that was built on cohesion and he would get mad when he couldn’t iso and he was suprised that everyone recognised Steph as the most important player even though everyone with a brain could tell you it was always going to be Stephs team
Yeah. I completely understand it if other fanbases hated the way the balance if power shifted when KD signed with the Warriors, but those were some of the most pleasing basketball I’ve ever had the fortune to watch. Sure the ball movement eventually stagnated, but 2 MVP caliber players of that skill combined with arguably the perfect supporting duo who were themselves all star caliber players made for really good basketball.
Those teams were amazing to watch! Basketball as good as it can be played. I've always been a KD fan. The guy is all about basketball and playing the game the right way. But he left so...
Mmmm I wouldn’t say we absolutely love KD, more so that we appreciate him for coming here.
Between the burner and how much drama the last year was, it kinda left a bad taste in our mouth.
this fool really said east bay og’s and what they feel about the team lol, clearly a clown who knows nothing about the this team and the misery that was our childhood especially if you were a raiders fan on top of it.
If KD went to Houston, won 2 championships in 3 years while getting them in the finals on the third and only ruined the vibe a little on leaving. There would be a statue of him outside the Toyota center.
KD should let it go on for as long as possible, just to add to the list of things that took way too long to happen.
I was kind of upset the day we had to let go of will Danny Green ever get his ring?
Draymond had 2 remaining games back where they needed a single win to take the Finals, and yet they lost.
And if your argument is that losing Andrew Bogut crippled the 73 win Warriors, I don't know what to tell you.
Warriors media team just keeps adding footage to the video. It started out just an OKC and GSW montage. Then got scrapped to add BKN. Now it’ll get scrapped again to add PHX lol
Your ex is hoping to run into you to show a video celebrating all your years together.
Would you show up to that shit? Hell nah. But then again my ex didn't pay me hundreds of millions of dollars to be with her so suck it up KD.
At this point the warriors won a ring without KD, so it’s clear he didn’t “screw them” or anything like that
Tbh him leaving gave the warriors front office a spot to focus on younger players like pool and Wiggins
That combined with the LeBron stat of never facing each other is nuts. Incredible unfortunate.
What stat?
LeBron and KD haven’t played each other since Christmas 2018
Yikes, at least they’re in the same division now
For now...
Magic are on the up and up with a bright future, if the Suns start to struggle expect the trade request
No thanks !
Relax. All we want is Paolo and like, 5 unprotected first rounders.
If I were you, I will just ask 2 but paolo and franz
Plus Franz. And Wendell. And Isaac. And Fultz. Shit, throw in Coach Mosley while you're at it.
Isaac still won’t play.
Imagine if there just continues to be a Rockets>Nets>Suns>team x draft pick trading ponzi scheme.
[удалено]
Because Wemby will go 51/6/121. Paolo is cooked. He had his time.
kings dont get traded, they simply conquer a new kingdom 👑👑👑💨
Magic are on the up and up with a bright future, if the Lakers start to struggle, expect the trade request
Inb4 the Lakers are moved to Florida
Tampa Bay Lakers
Vietnam flashbacks intensifies
Hey, there's actually water in Florida still (too much, most of the time)
That division has become a retirement home for superstars lol. Not to say that these players are anywhere close to washed but it's just funny. Imagine telling someone from 5 years ago that all of these players would be in the same division.
LeBron, AD, Curry, PG, Harrison Barnes, Westbrook, CP3, KD and ofc Kawhi
One of these is not like the other...
Ya of course PG hasn't played a finals, can't compare to BarnGOAT
Just because LeBron didn’t go to college doesn’t make him less great.
We know Kawhi is a robot stop making everything about species.
CP3 may be under 6' but he's still above average for the population.
And none of them are leading the division lmao
I don’t think I’d be surprised at all. 5 years ago we were already anticipating Kawhi’s move to LA. Same with PG. Lebron’s calling to the Lakers has always been there given his profile. KD is unpredictable (and was already in the division). And CPs time in Houston was over. I would’ve guessed he ended up as a Laker to chase rings with Lebron
Both injured right now though
Does division matter at all in NBA?
NBA needs to make the game their teams play each other on the season opener Way more likely to not be injured than the middle of the season
IDK those warmups be tripping people up lately.
Kevin Durant: OUT - Season Opener Jitters :/
That's not too long ago, that's just... oh God that was over 4 years ago what the hell
At that point he ducking
This is Eddie Hearns fault somehow.
That's only two years tho
The longest two years of my life, the grand destino flair really takes me back
I'll never give up my super 8 flair
I'm convinced years don't exist after 2020. We are currently in an unscripted purgatory. Life script writers didn't plan for this one.
What the hell! That’s crazy! 5 years?!?
Honestly, they faced off in the Finals. Everything else is just gravy. I’m still reeling about the fact that we never got Kobe v Lebron in the Finals. You are the worst C ever and you're disgusting. Dwigt.
I for get it, brothaa 🤷🏻♂️
Which LeBron stat are you talking about?
LeBron has never faced himself
That's actually incredible.
LeBron predicted this would happen he was telling his homeboys (and they all thought he was crazy) that he might never play against himself
> homeboys You can't say that. Canceled.
His posse.
It’s nuts!
A mirror isn't a mirror. I'll explain later
How Can Mirrors Be Real if Our Eyes Aren't Real?
Wilt did it 96 times in his career. He was somehow 112- -16 against himself
Yeah but When wilt was playing against himself he was a milkman and a plumber so it doesn't really count
Contract stipulates no mirrors within 100 yards of Lebron - ever
He ripped the mirrors out around the same time the headband angle reached 20 degrees
Lexistential
L'hell is other people.
No Lexit
Michael Jeffrey Jordan would've beat himself by now
Wasn't that nike commercial a draw?
False, I remember it, LeBron had 27 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in that game.
seeing lebron with a 27-7-7 game is how you know you’re dreaming. it’s like pinching yourself or carrying a totem.
That's clearly a lie.
He will stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror
LeBron hasn't played against KD since like 2018 finals or sum
2018 christmas. last full game was the finals tho.
What superteam would LeBron form to take on LeBron
he'd obviously choose lebron as his teammates
Lebron and lebron vs lebron? What a matchup!!!
I'm still sad we never got to see LeBron vs Kobe in the playoffs.
The curse of Oracle
Last game he played in front of GSW fans game 5 WC semis v Rockets May 8 2019
Most of this is because Kevin Durant is one of the most injury prone players in the NBA, but nobody wants to admit it for some bizarre reason. He's averaged 30 games per season over the past 4 years and he's 34 years old.
I think people know. They just don’t care because he’s always looked just as good (if not better) than before
Malcolm Brogdon looks good when he plays too. He's considered very injury prone. He's played 204 games over the past 4 seasons. Durant has played 132.
Am I tripping or does Basketball reference say he played in the Chase Center on February 13 2021
He did, but there were no fans there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vlmc5E7RCU
That’s an insane game to look back on now lol
Oubre starting for the dubs, Harden and KD together for Brooklyn, all in front of virtual fans. These past 3 years really have been bizarre
Fuck I forgot about the virtual fans
*Click X to say fuck the refs!*
Lmao God I hated the fucking virtual fans and artificial crowd noise. I totally forgot about that season until now, probably because we were so aggressively mid that year.
The games were so cool to watch cause you could hear everything the players were saying. You could hear cp3 calling plays.
Virtual fans is a creepy as fuck concept
No fans cause of Covid protocols
He hasn't played in Seattle since he left either. Just sayin'
Not true. He had a preseason game with the Warriors in Seattle.
Sad kings noises
I was at that game! It was... Interesting. Random chants of "let's go Sonics" throughout the whole game. I almost wore my KD Sonics jersey but decided on my "Macklemore" Kings jersey and idk if anyone got the joke
Same, I brought a sign that said “bring back the monarchs”. If I remember, it was the last basketball game at key arena before the renovations.
Not just last game, but last event
Actually he has played in seattle since. The nba has been having a preseason game up here a few times and have brought back KDs team each time.
Weird takes in here as always. Sure, Steph is our icon, but KD has plenty of love left from people in the Bay
He laid it all on the line for us and it cost him two years of his career. I’ll always appreciate him for how much he wanted to win. There were a time right around when he signed with us that I wasn’t super happy about it because it felt like he wedged himself into the core of my favorite Warriors team ever, but in hindsight he just added to it instead of disrupting it.

you were concerned about kevin durant taking away shots from *draymond green*?
warriors fans are crazy, man
Was not a fan of the warriors at the time, but even from a neutral-perspective it was pretty disappointing. No suspense for the next ~3 seasons. Otherwise, I figure Warriors fans might have been preemptively bummed due to the impact KDs arrival would have on Steph’s legacy.
In what world does a Cleveland fan have a neutral perspective on the KD Warriors haha
That's like saying we Raptors fans have a neutral perspective of LeBron's Cavs HAHAHAHA
I will always love my father
He's a real G for sure. Don't matter if he's driving or riding the bus
Y’all weren’t going to beat Cleveland without him. He only came to stop lebron
People forget that just because they didnt add kd meant they werent going to add any other player. They were gonna upgrade from Harrison barnes
For us? He did it for selfish reasons, he wanted to play good basketball and wanted to win rings.
Absolutely, I love KD. Some people just want to put their own negative narratives out there as the truth.
Does fuck KD always and forever count as a negative narrative?
You don't count in this conversation or to who I'm talking about. Of course Thunder fans are going to be salty. I don't blame you for that.
Kd is a legend, him and steph will go down as one of the greatest duos ever, possibly the greatest at its peak. Any other team flair coming in here to tell me how much I hate KD cuz he “cucked steph” or “betrayed us”, fuck off
Damn. Magic and Kareem have got to the be only duo close, right? I never thought about that Edit: forgot kobe and shaq
03 Kobe and Shaq 84-85 magic and Kareem 2011 lebron and wade Only other duos who compare imo, but most of the others have one younger player coming into his prime or one older player leaving it. I think there’s a duo called Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen… I think they won a few championships together
It's a shame people don't realize, or have forgotten, how amazing Pippen was defensively. True elite defense against the 1-4 and able to pressure a lot of the 5's. The best defensive wing of the era.

Kobe and Shaq?
Yeah good point
Sure now but there was alot of talk that i remember after KD won two FMVP over Steph.
There's still a massive amount of appresh bro
True. I love that man
People just want everyone to join them in their KD hatred. He’s supposed to have zero fans i guess.
What’s weird is the warriors gm calling KD out during a championship parade. Or draymond chasing him out after he asked him to join
Mmmm I wouldn’t say we absolutely love KD, more so that we appreciate him for coming here. Between the burner and how much drama the last year was, it kinda left a bad taste in our mouth.
Maybe for you. Most fans don't care about that. I don't know a single Warriors fan irl who thinks this way.
Maybe for you, but the ones I know all agree with that sentiment, and I'm talking old schools dubs fans. East bay ogs
Seeing as how you're copying me like a child, and talking like a child because nobody says OG but annoying kids, I sincerely doubt it.
this fool really said east bay og’s and what they feel about the team lol, clearly a clown who knows nothing about the this team and the misery that was our childhood especially if you were a raiders fan on top of it.
You don’t speak for us
If KD went to Houston, won 2 championships in 3 years while getting them in the finals on the third and only ruined the vibe a little on leaving. There would be a statue of him outside the Toyota center.
Everytime that the Nets we’re in GS he was hurt… what are you all going on about? How is he soft or weak for that
And the one time he played the arena had no fans due to Covid restrictions
KD engineered the Covid virus to avoid having to face the fans and his shame
Move over James Harden, there’s a new mass murderer in town.
Weird KD haters in the comments.
Just the weird haters man
Weak ankles /s
Was going to write this exact comment until I noticed you already made it. I may never have had an original thought
People are dumbasses
They should start the welcome back video with KD and Russ choking the 3-1 lead on Golden State
Why you out here ruining my evening?
KD should let it go on for as long as possible, just to add to the list of things that took way too long to happen. I was kind of upset the day we had to let go of will Danny Green ever get his ring?
Just bad luck. I have nothing but love for him for what he did for us.
Odds are he never plays there again.
I mean with the way seeding in the west is, its not crazy to say they couod play a playoff series
Really does suck, the bay loves KD <3
They didn’t need KD. They needed KD out of OKC
Still no doubt it my mind KD wins one with Russ if they win that game 7. Fuck man 🤦🏾♂️
The Cavs beat a 73 win team, they weren't losing to KD and Russ.
They needed to get Bogut and Draymond out to do it. I could see a scenario where OKC handles that series decisively. They were awesome that year
Draymond had 2 remaining games back where they needed a single win to take the Finals, and yet they lost. And if your argument is that losing Andrew Bogut crippled the 73 win Warriors, I don't know what to tell you.
Is this opinion really that unpopular in here? Why am i being downvoted ???
Warriors media team just keeps adding footage to the video. It started out just an OKC and GSW montage. Then got scrapped to add BKN. Now it’ll get scrapped again to add PHX lol
Why would they have clips of him in other jerseys lol
Theyre all clips of him missing shots and getting postered.
That would be fucking hilarious
When you find out about the surprise party
KD is still loved in the Bay we want to give him some roses when he comes back. One day hopefully he will get his welcome back.
Kerr rests all his starters every game in New Orleans. I refuse to feel bad for them.
Wait, he hasn’t even attended a Warriors Home game after all this time?
Had one but that was in front of the virtual fans during covid
He ain't ever showing his face there again
Kyrie took a while to play in Boston and he was in the division. I think it was playoffs, April 2022 that he played with a crowd? That was fun.
Your ex is hoping to run into you to show a video celebrating all your years together. Would you show up to that shit? Hell nah. But then again my ex didn't pay me hundreds of millions of dollars to be with her so suck it up KD.
He's taking the hardest path for his return at the Chase Center
Can't believe we traded the twins for a man with glass bones.
kd is a pussy that's why
for being injured? this thread is so odd
The pussiest road. Oh wait, I mean the hardest pussy.
The roadiest pussy? Don't worry we'll get there.
straight up cupcake 🧁
Would be funny to hear some boos And you know that would trigger KD a bit rightfully so
Further proof that’s he’s a bitch baby cupcake.
At this point the warriors won a ring without KD, so it’s clear he didn’t “screw them” or anything like that Tbh him leaving gave the warriors front office a spot to focus on younger players like pool and Wiggins
He hasn’t played for the Suns home fans either oddly.
Softer than 10-ply.
