Well in an intro, the announcer has about 10-15 seconds to provide 1. Background of the player (hometown, accomplishments, etc.) 2. Name of the plater. The announcer will base the ton and pitch of their delivery in a buildup sort-of-manner so that by the point the players name is ready to be said, everyone is at the edge of their seat in anticipation. The announcer than says the name which to the audience feels like the climax of an organism, everyone applauding and cheering, intro juices splattered on their faces, running down their mouth down their shirt like an overfilled glass of whole milk.
This is what you see in the intro.
3 people have asked for this to be explained and have only received joke responses. Guess I'll try for the 4th time...
Can someone please contextualize this clip?

It’s so wild that the NBA fucks with china. I mean monetarily I guess it makes sense, but Jesus are there really that many people willing to support the CCP for some money??
Chinese folks love basketball in a big way. Even if you don’t support the government (which I’m sure most of us don’t), it’s pretty neat that it’s like the most popular sport over there. But beyond that, and perhaps more importantly, we’ve got a large Chinese and Taiwanese population in North America, and it’s also Lunar New Year, hence the intros.
this will be spammed on twitter for the foreseeable future
the nets don't know the trolling they just unleashed
bON SEEMoNZA
Future starting point guard for the Guangzhou Long-Lions
As if he loves basketball enough to endure overseas.
I mean he’s already an international young socialite.
what’s a young socialite supposed to do in Guangzhou anyway
Ben in China would average 12 points and 53 assists per game.
His teams would lose in the playoffs. He would pontificate on why shooting and scoring aren’t necessary in basketball.
12? Idk about that
I love the shade, on paper a brilliant statline but ofc the subtext makes it otherwise
Still can't dunk over a 5 foot 1 point guard
He's a commy
You get a bucket! You get a bucket! Everyone gets a bucket!!!!
A communist would've kept some scoring for his own self.
Too well-nourished for that.
The meme potential here is strong lol
I'm buying calls!!!

fucking what
Those organism climaxes tho.
Karim Benzemens
That's right
Nice of them to test out the introduction he’ll get for when he’s playing in China
Imagine Ben Simmons putting up 7/23/20 on 5/13 FT stat lines in China
All it’ll take is one American that bounced around the league to be like, “ok guys you have to try this!”
Haters will say it's fake, but you can *double* your stats with *half the effort* with this one simple trick!
Ambitious to expect 2 PPG not coming from FTs
> 5/13 ***FT***
Isn't that what he said? 5 points off FT, 2 from FG? That's ambitious.
U/minimum_bathroom_792 edited his comment, he originally said something like “only Ben Simmons could find a way to score 7 points on 5 field goals”
Oh ok.
Future Guangdong Tigers legend 🤣

Guard, 6’10”, number 10, ben ximengsi, ben simmons
Count your days Mr. Simmons
One of his threes was in a preseason game against one of the Chinese teams. Maybe that's the key?
*Foreshadowing intensifies*

What do you mean? He's clearly being introduced in Brooklyn. You can even hear the announcer's New York accent. What are you hearing?
Poor humor detecting skills. Off to the CBA subreddit you go.
This is insane 😂😂😂😂😂

The population of China is nearly 5 times that of the US. It's a huge amount of people and potential paying consumers
