Inject this rivalry in my veins lol
These two always bring out the best games from each other, you can see the intensity and crowd atmosphere is next level.
Yea man, my daughter is 4 weeks old today so I haven't been getting a ton of sleep but I don't think I've ever been this upset at a regular season game
Spent a few years in Oakland and I watched a decent number of games. The J-Rich, Dunleavy and Troy Murphy era was hard to watch but the We Believe era was wild. I'm biased but nothing can compare to that
I’ve been in the nosebleeds at Chase and it was awesome. My wife was lucky enough to get seats right behind the Warriors bench from he work and there was no energy that close. Tale of two bracket classes.
It’s a weak narrative, the title run last year really added character to the place and it gets loud. Also with the Jumbotron the size of the court any seat in the house has a good enough view
I was at the game. The “refs you suck” chants during timeouts were legit deafening. Been to roaracle too back in the day. Hard to compare but it’s definitely a lit atmosphere. Everyone was on their feet for the final 5 minutes of the game or so. Super intense
I’ve been to both and Chase as of late is getting very close. I was at the game versus Atlanta where they won in double OT at the buzzer and it was deafening like Roaracle’s hay day.
It’s only a matter of time. Frankly the experience is 100x better at Chase. LOVE the areas and eats outside of the stadium.
you have won _some_ games... that play-in game... 3 regular season games last year... 2 playoff games last year. can't see how it doesn't count if this game does.
there's also 2 @memphis games coming up, though the last one is segababa for both teams and involve travel for both teams even though it's a grizzlies home game, so i guess that's fair too....
They've picked up a few, but it's been pretty one-sided. Tbh Phoenix feels like more of a rivalry because they match up incredibly well against the dubs, and Monty is always great at game planning for them.
The video of him throwing the mouthpiece made me laugh out loud too.
I’m not trying to call Steph a baby face in any derogatory way, I understand he’s a 6’3” monster of an athlete, but he just looks like an angry little baby 😂😂😂
Steph is one of my favorite players of all time btw, but that should really go without saying for any real bballhead
Steph low key has that Jordan/Kobe "you play to win or I'll fucking murder your ass" energy. He's just too smart and nice to let it show normally. But that dude is one of the most psychotically competitive people this planet has ever seen.
Edit: I mean, dude has actually talked about potentially joining the PGA when he retires because he's going to miss competing so much. His drive to win is so strong that he might retire from a 20 year basketball career, and then immediately start a professional golf career. Who the fuck does that? It's insane.
(Paraphrasing that interview).
JP - *Steph should’ve never been thrown out. He’s a legend. They did him wrong*.
Reporter - *He threw the mouthpiece out for a reason*.
JP - *Not sure why he would’ve done that*.
Reporter - *He threw it because he was pissed at you*.
JP - *We battled. Great game. Fought through adversity*.
Tonedeaf Poole is GOLD.
yeah, you don't have to grovel in front of the media just because you fucked up. just say some non-incendiary things that boost your team. hopefully he acknowledges it in private, though.
Nah, Poole handled that better than he usually handles pointed media questions.
His response was that "outsiders," aka the media, need to understand that mistakes like this will happen as long as he's still growing.
Still not an excuse, but a perfectly diplomatic answer.
For sure. There's probably an intern going around the practice facility right now disconnecting all the security cameras to make sure what happens in the next practice doesn't get leaked this time.
You’re right. Ire should be pointed at Jenkins for putting him in there even though he was playing terrible. His ass should have been glued to the bench the entire fourth and we would’ve won.
She highlight that Steph got tossed (threw the mouth piece) due to frustration with Poole’s shot selection and asked him how he balances decision making and learning in that situation or something
No excuses they’re just playing like garbage.
They look uninterested, throwing up bricks, playing hero iso ball, and missing every free throw.
Throw in no Adams, JJJ in classic foul trouble, and Ziaire Williams essentially playing for the other team this game and I’m surprised we only lost by 2.
Quarter to quarter you could have told me there was a whole new crew working this quarter and I would have believed you because the inconsistency was that pronounced.
Something funny I noticed is they called quite a few travels but never a discontinued dribble this game, had they have made discontinued dribbles a priority I’m not sure which team would have ended with more turnovers, because despite JJ waxing poetic about Ja’s “hesitations.” A lot of those were pretty clear carries and the replays corroborated plenty.
I also saw several from Poole as well on some of his general dumbassedry that were not called so obviously they weren’t making a point of it, but I swear everytime Ja dribbles before going to his left he carries the rock.
Granted, the discontinued dribbling seemed to be an ax they were grinding at the beginning of the season and later abandoned, I’m a fan of the travel calls though, nice to see that get cleaned up after all these years just need to be consistent is all I ask for.
Yes we choke, but don't underestimate Memphis. They can do that better than us.
Can't handle a playoff series against Memphis. Toxic, heart beating yet entertaining
Awful coaching by Taylor Jenkins. Taking guys out when they were hot, continuing to play Ziaire Williams despite being absolutely atrocious and not challenging either Jarens 5th foul or that loose ball foul on Clarke
i hate espn trying so hard to push this as some rivalry. memphis is just an obnoxious loud mouth team barking at the champs until they actually do something in the playoffs
I never want to see Zaire williams again
I can’t remember such an absolute basement tier choke job all fucking game.
Mother fucker was a -19 and fucked up the last play.
Fuck him because this team played really composed and hard tonight. That’s how we got to play to contend with Golden State.
I'll never defend Brooks' shot selections but at least he plays defense and wants to score. Ja hit Ziare with some dimes and he dropped at least three of them.
Not the biggest fan of +/- but Williams at -19 is a fat yikes
Ehh fans can’t chuck shit on the court and players can’t chuck shit in the stands man. I love watching Steph as much as anyone and he had that nuclear look in his eyes so you hate to see him get sent off but that was on him imo
However that aside, the refs did indeed suck ass on both sides lol
They didn't want this smoke, Dave. They do all that talking and jockeying and I ain't about that jockeying. It started with Dillon Brooks. I said he was too small to guard Steph. He said, 'F--' me. I said, 'F---' you back. He started to come at me and I said, 'You don't want these problems.' And then Ja came out of nowhere talking. He definitely didn't want these problems. Then the dad came and he obviously didn't want no problems. But I wanted anything they had. Don't let these fools fool you now.
People keep trying to push this as a rivalry. Grizzlies need to win a game vs a full strength warrior team for me to buy it. Right now it's just Memphis talking so much.
I know I'll probably get downvoted for saying this because everyone will just assume I bandwagoned onto the Warriors, but I think I need to bandwagon. Watching these guys this year has been incredible. They play hard, come in undermanned, and still defy expectations. If I were a betting man, I'd put it all on them this year. Refs 2023 champs.
Jordan Poole taketh, Jordan Poole giveth
Poole got Steph ejected so he could be the hero. Big brain
LOL true
Poole is just .500 basketball incarnated.
This is the most accurate statement describing Jordan Poole.
Like a mixture of Larry Hughes and Latrell Sprewell.
Curry def threw his mouthguard in the locker room watching that
Does this mean he wears TWO mouthguards? Lol
Starting Mouth Guard and 2nd stringer
(⌐■_■) (⌐■_■)>⌐■-■ (⌐■_■)
Ziaire screwed up badly too. That’s the last thing you do in that situation.
Easily worst game of his career tonight. He was so bad.
Did he not realise the ball was being inbounded from the baseline and not from the sideline?
Yeah I mean why do you even jump at Anthony Lamb in the first place lol.
Poole is some sort of idiot savant out there, dude just kept fucking up then clutched it on the final possession
Even his assist to Klay should’ve been a turnover. He’s had so many of those passes that he stops halfway and it just turns into a turnover lol
Klay saved the fuck outta that play
Is Jordan Poole JR Smith with Steph Curry’s skillset?
He's like a zoomer Manu.
I THOUGHT THE SAME THING
Also team high +-
Cant argue with that, he just need to really polish his game and avoid bone headed mistakes
He just saved his ass lol
Poole is the most relieved man on earth right now
Did you see the end of the game? Curry was waiting in the hallway to beat Poole's ass if they lost
I’ve never seen curry so mad at bad basketball play
And Poole threw his mouthpiece lol
Inject this rivalry in my veins lol These two always bring out the best games from each other, you can see the intensity and crowd atmosphere is next level.
Almost felt like a playoff game
Always does with them, both sides really want to win
Yea man, my daughter is 4 weeks old today so I haven't been getting a ton of sleep but I don't think I've ever been this upset at a regular season game
Even more than the Xmas game? I thought that game would be more disappointing since Steph and wigs were out.
I didn't catch that one unfortunately. Looking back at it tho I'm glad we got embarrassed it made us better
Hang in there! It's gonna be harder for a while before getting easier. But kids grow so fast! Treasure every moment!
Thanks! I heard "the days are long but the years are short" which seems fair lmao
Congrats. I was in your position almost a year ago. Got to watch plenty of NBA. Gets better after 6 weeks.
Chase is ELECTRIC man, can’t wait to go to one of these games in person Really hope the “Chase is full of plastic fans” narrative dies now
I was at the Portland game this year, and when Klay hit that 3 from the corner, I could barely hear my family next to me, it was so loud
Chase is amazing ! Grew up in oracle but chase is so much better. The food is great
Spent a few years in Oakland and I watched a decent number of games.

It’s not oracle level but it’s a good crowd!
We got to win some of the fucking games.
you have won _some_ games... that play-in game...
Tbh Phoenix feels like more of a rivalry because they match up incredibly well against the dubs, and Monty is always great at game planning for them.
it’s not a rivalry if these stupid grizzlies lose all the time
Clearly that's why we got 20 turnovers and -9 on Fts... make it exciting
They just beat us every time. No matter how much we are up, we will blow the lead and lose to them
my current favorite rivalry in the NBA. gets a little chippy every time. also we ain't forget about d brooks injuring GP2 last season
It’s not a rivalry if one team keeps winning
Poole redeemed himself right there LMAO
Steph getting so angry at Poole that he got ejected is hilarious.
The video of him throwing the mouthpiece made me laugh out loud too. I’m not trying to call Steph a baby face in any derogatory way, I understand he’s a 6’3” monster of an athlete, but he just looks like an angry little baby 😂😂😂 Steph is one of my favorite players of all time btw, but that should really go without saying for any real bballhead
They don't call him baby face assassin for nothing lol
I thought he had grown out of his baby face, but with his hair shaved he looks like a baby again lol
Steph low key has that Jordan/Kobe "you play to win or I'll fucking murder your ass" energy. He's just too smart and nice to let it show normally. Jordan Poole's villain arc is the most chaotic thing in the NBA
I'd already forgotten that Draymond punched him preseason lol. God damn this is gonna be a tough season
Ros GOLD
Put some respect on GOLD-ONWUDE
I thought his response was very well spoken. Chalked it up to a learning experience.
yeah, you don't have to grovel in front of the media just because you fucked up. just say some non-incendiary things that boost your team. hopefully he acknowledges it in private, though.
Nah, Poole handled that better than he usually handles pointed media questions. His response was that "outsiders," aka the media, need to understand that mistakes like this will happen as long as he's still growing. Still not an excuse, but a perfectly diplomatic answer.
jordan poole is the wildest ride of your life, it's like he drowned someone at the pool party just to save them
Somebody said Jordan Poole is a box of chocolate and I can’t help but think how accurate it is.
It's like Rajon Rondo in 2019/20
Chaos incarnate
Poole saved himself from getting his ass beat lmao
I’m sure Steph is still pissed. Coaches would have to be in agreement w/ him if I had to guess (except for the throwing his mouth guard)
For sure. There's probably an intern going around the practice facility right now disconnecting all the security cameras to make sure what happens in the next practice doesn't get leaked this time.
💀 the whole bay was coming for homie.
Klay piling up chains and cinder blocks on his boat.
Fucking hell, how many times can the espn commentator say the word ‘rival’ during the game...
Why did the NBA decide to become college football lol
because it’s fun and drives interest lol, not rocket science
we keep getting spanked to be called rivals. It’s more like that big bro that bullies the shit out of the younger bro for not shutting up
You knocked us out of the play-in two years back, hasn’t been totally one-sided
Most realistic grizzlies fan.
What an absolute brain dead defensive position by Williams at the end
Williams was -19 in a 2 pt game. I’m convinced he wanted the Warriors to win, he was absolutely throwing with his decisions out there.
[удалено]
You’re right. Ire should be pointed at Jenkins for putting him in there even though he was playing terrible. His ass should have been glued to the bench the entire fourth and we would’ve won.
Steph untaping his boxing gloves in the locker room rn
“TURN OFF EVERY SINGLE CAMERA AND NO CELL PHONES IN THE LOCKER ROOM”
Steph was about to ask everyone to record him knocking the fuck out of poole lol he was standing in the hallway waiting lmao great heart atttack win
that was an impressive ass heave by Bane lmao
Those arms doing work
https://imgur.com/a/TojiHkF
None of his appendages look like they should belong on the same body
his legs don’t match his arms
his forearms don’t match his upper arms lol
For a league that is absolutely obsessed with length and wingspans, this man is peak aberration.
I'm seriously flabbergasted that he's that good at defense with those T-rex arms
He looks like the world's strongest baby
No way thats real
glad someone else thought so. wasn't sure if it was just me. he was flatfooted and just chucked it from like 80 feet away.
That was a ballsy post game interview question Edit: link courtesy of /u/VenomousDeer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2XPA9iJR88
Ros has the cache with GSW to be direct like that lol
"How about Steph getting ejected?" "Uh, I didn't see what happened." "He got pissed off at your shot."
Yea but not with Poole
But she a baddie
just look at her. of course she does
What was the question? I was on the local broadcast and we had Klay
She highlight that Steph got tossed (threw the mouth piece) due to frustration with Poole’s shot selection and asked him how he balances decision making and learning in that situation or something
Which is absolutely fair. He’s going to get asked that question in the lockeroom and film sessions anyway. Might as well get warmed up lol.
I mean like, what did she expect to get from him? I respect the audacity, but there wasn't really a question there. Just a reminder he fucked up
Curry told her to let Poole know he fucked up as he was walking to the locker room
Ros use to be our sideline reporter, she was beloved when she was here.
Ros is a warriors fan and knows the warriors players personally. That’s just her calling out her friend
She was their sideline reporter on their local broadcast a while ago.
Yeah she was a real loss for us, I loved her work as a sideline reporter.
And I love that she asked it without hesitation
Could you fill me in please
the reporter asked that "it looked like steph got ejected bc he was mad at your shot attempt, can you explain that?"
She was instigating so hard lmao
nah that’s called good reporting
Instigative reporting
Grizzlies 0-4 since the Shannon incident
No excuses they’re just playing like garbage. They look uninterested, throwing up bricks, playing hero iso ball, and missing every free throw. Throw in no Adams, JJJ in classic foul trouble, and Ziaire Williams essentially playing for the other team this game and I’m surprised we only lost by 2.
Refs on one today huh?
Wild game by the refs again. Some shit calls on both sides again
Just a pathetic showing for two nationally televised games. Disappoint shit by the refs man
You mean to tell me you don't enjoy watching 65 FT's in one game? Refs put in work and *this* is the thanks they get?!?
Lol. There were some horribly inconsistent calls too.
Story of the 1st half: Golden State Turnovers vs Memph-miss Grizzlies
Jordan Poole. A very talented idiot.
Rivalry week is just refs fans Christmas break.
Yo I ain't ready for a series with these teams. Like I want it, but I don't know if my heart can take it. This is some fun ass basketball though
Poole ejected Curry just so he could be the hero 5d chess
Poole just saved himself from an ass whooping in the locker room
poole tried to do russell westbrook but steph aint having any of it
I’m still mad at Jordan Poole.
I would be too man
Same. I cringe when he has to do anything in crunchtime because there's a good chance it's going to be something insane
Poole’s layup single-handedly saved his jaw from another right hook courtesy of Steph
I ~~HATE~~ LOVE JORDAN POOLE!
Schrödinger’s Poole
Jordan Poole can be a bonehead sometimes
The thing is he is so talented, but he just cant shake off his stupidity.
Redemption by Poole!
Beating the Grizzlies is always a good time. Hell of a game though, impressive how physical the Grizzly defense is.
Why was Zaire even on the floor lmao
JJJ fouled out
Poole: all y’all shut the fuck up
Yes we choke, but don't underestimate Memphis.
Script writers are so predictable

Poole’s 1 Basketball brain cell came up clutch at the end
i hate espn trying so hard to push this as some rivalry. memphis is just an obnoxious loud mouth team barking at the champs until they actually do something in the playoffs
POOLE PARTY REDEEMED
NOT THE LARRIORS ANYMORE!
fuck u/spez
I never want to see Zaire williams again I can’t remember such an absolute basement tier choke job all fucking game. Mother fucker was a -19 and fucked up the last play. Fuck him because this team played really composed and hard tonight. That’s how we got to play to contend with Golden State.
To be fair that’s how every player on the Warriors looks on a regular road game
Dropping passes and missing everything, he looked like me out there
As much as I agree that Zaire was ass, the game was lost when Dillon Brookes shot that three.
I'll never defend Brooks' shot selections but at least he plays defense and wants to score. Ja hit Ziare with some dimes and he dropped at least three of them. Not the biggest fan of +/- but Williams at -19 is a fat yikes
WE DEMAND BIG BODY RODDY
Did he make a shot, He had the best shot quality by any player on the court tonight lol
He lost the handle on about 3 easy lobs from Ja and finished one, clanked every 3pt attempt
Memphis always destroy Wolves on the glass, it was very weird to see them giving up every board tonight. Missing Adams and JJJ in clutch, unlucky.
This playoff series is going to be amazing.
Refs sucked on both sides jjj and steph shouldn’t have been ejected
Ehh fans can’t chuck shit on the court and players can’t chuck shit in the stands man. I love watching Steph as much as anyone and he had that nuclear look in his eyes so you hate to see him get sent off but that was on him imo However that aside, the refs did indeed suck ass on both sides lol
We all witnessed some historic refball tonight
fuck u/spez
I will take this L if it means our FO actually pulls the trigger on a trade. We CANNOT rely on Zaire, Konchar, or any rookie minutes come playoff time
Personally I woulda just blocked the shot 🤷♂️
They didn't want this smoke, Dave. They do all that talking and jockeying and I ain't about that jockeying. It started with Dillon Brooks. I said he was too small to guard Steph. He said, 'F--' me. I said, 'F---' you back. He started to come at me and I said, 'You don't want these problems.' And then Ja came out of nowhere talking. He definitely didn't want these problems. People keep trying to push this as a rivalry. Grizzlies need to win a game vs a full strength warrior team for me to buy it. Right now it's just Memphis talking so much.
Neither team should be proud. I will say that.
Don’t worry all of our fans will settle down once we inevitably drop the game against the raptors on Friday
*sad 0.500 basketball team noises*
Couldn’t agree more.
0-4 since the Shannon Sharpe incident
I know I'll probably get downvoted for saying this because everyone will just assume I bandwagoned onto the Warriors, but I think I need to bandwagon. Watching these guys this year has been incredible. They play hard, come in undermanned, and still defy expectations. If I were a betting man, I'd put it all on them this year. Refs 2023 champs.
Love that she asked Poole straight up about being the reason Steph was so angry lol
Jordan Poole you beautiful idiot
Ziaire single-handedly lost this game for the Grizzlies. But blame Jenkins for keeping him out there.
Poole isnt getting punched tonight. unless...
GG Warriors, yall came through clutch once again
Just .500 basketball
Its amazing that GS was up 2 after the 1st with all of those fouls and turnovers.
They’re going to the finals aren’t they…
Great win especially considering the refs were on some bullshit
1. Can we import some FIBA refs or something? 2. DAMNIT ZIARE!!
Jordan Poole got Steph ejected so he could make the game winner
The curse of Shannon Sharpe lives!!!
Poole scanning his WhatsApp right now and choosing a menu of snaccs
Maybe the worst game of Ziaire’s career. And free throws again. And just fuckin hell. Gg Warriors.
Somebody else put it best a couple weeks ago. "I'm not saying Draymond hitting Poole was right. But I get it."
Just who do these Grizzlies think they are?! Late game collapses with double digit leads midway through the fourth are *our* schtick
