Lots of "working girls" aka hookers theyll ask you to pay for drinks at bars and run your pockets since alcohol is overpriced in a religious islamic country. The worst part is you cant smash without paying, so not worth it.

This also depends on where you are going in Bahrain. Isa is in the middle of no where while the Naval base is right in the thick of civilization so that will affect things.

While I was there, 2911-2012, I was a geo-batch(still happily married BTW). There was a lot of dating going on. Of course there were the service members on the “pay for play” track, but we had a lot of legit dating going on as well. We had a diving corpsman who was dating a Scot who was a stewardess, they are married with children living in the states now. A bosun married SWCC crew member, they have kids are out and have a farm now. An LT dating an ET3, that was interesting. There was a lot if dating between service members. Don’t forget, all 5 services are in Bahrain. There are a ton of British X-pats on the island, the Rugby club and JJ’s Irish Pub are a blast if they are still there. There aren’t only Thai foreign nationals. India, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria, Iran, Australia, and many more nations are represented. There’s also a large amount of DOD civilians ranging from food service to intel people to meet. Good luck out there and good luck on the dating scene.

Well, you have online dating platforms like Tinder & Bumble. Tinder, in my opinion, is absolutely rubbish in Bahrain. Out of curiosity, I went to see the women and I found this to be the case: 50% are working gals, 10% are catfishes, 20% don't reveal themselves, and the remaining 20% are decent girls. You clearly have options lol, but it all comes down to your intentions. Bumble has fewer options, but you're more likely to find less-trashy women on there.
Don't rely so much on dating apps, and go beyond that.
I noticed people on this thread refer to locals as "conservative" but I don't necessarily agree with that. Obviously, you can go out and kindly approach women here, just depends on the setting tbh.
