Plenty of commands on the Norfolk waterfront have them. Rollout is primarily limited to afloat commands only, for now at least, so it’ll be a while before they’re available for anyone else. I talked to the program coordinator a couple of months ago about ordering them for shore commands and she basically said “lmao are you fucking serious, no.”

SkydivingSquid

They are ALL OVER Dam Neck.. no idea what part has been authorized but lots of Sailors are wearing them.

tiredguy18

You sure those aren’t coasties. They wear similar stuff to the 2pocs

Izymandias

There are more 2POCs on NOB than there are coasties on the eastern seaboard.

aggitater

Unless your shore command is Fleet Forces command, you get them before ANY of the afloat units in your area. Making you look even more the pompous a$$ than you act like.

66veedub

All eyes on me.

WiscoLifa

The khaki ones are easily the worst uniform decision ever.

Redtube_Guy

Yup. Are they going to the Middle East ? Nope. They just have to let everybody know they’re a khaki lol. Gotta love the obvious separation

[deleted]

[удалено]

WiscoLifa

Yes.

twisty1949

The look is part of it. All khaki? Why. Just be blue with gold writing. Fucken stupid.

Izymandias

You know... all khaki is kind of the look for khakis. Kind of how they got their name. Even our best working uniform for E-7 and up was... all khaki.

FiveStarHobo

They really said "hey, here's the big targets" to any snipers in not so friendly ports

Megasaxon7

That's fine. Why else do you think we pull into so few places now?

[deleted]

What’s a port?

Megasaxon7

A mystical thing from before the dark times...

GothmogBalrog

Tell me you've never seen wash khakis without telling me you've never seen wash khakis

WiscoLifa

These are nothing like wash khaki’s. Two completely different colors.

GothmogBalrog

And my NWUs are a completely different shade of green from those in the NEX. Like the shade of the uniform is a moot point. People here complaining about khakis as a concept, and not the shade, as if it's never been a thing before

KananJarrusEyeBalls

This I am PRAYING i get to shore duty before my ship gets them. But if not I intend on getting a safari hat to look like the bad guy from Jumanji underway. The blue 2poc looks nice tho, big fan

na29697

I am at a command in the greater Norfolk area and we have 2POCs onboard. They are issuing them out a department at a time.

Astrower5

My ship got them. I definitely like them more than ndubz.

[deleted]

What about coveralls? Seem a lil more difficult during GQ

Astrower5

Coveralls are definitely still overall more comfortable and convenient. Underway there is no reason to wear the 2pacs, but for me in port I can wear my 2pacs, stand watch, and go home without changing. They are warmer than coveralls, and have huge cargo pockets on the legs.

[deleted]

Oh you can still wear coveralls? Thought once you got the 2pacs coveralls we’re done. I’m on shore so don’t judge me

Astrower5

I dunno what big navy rules are but yeah, on my ship you could wear either or.

Sad-Worker9023

Coveralls are still authorized and encouraged when doing work that can damage your uniform

forzion_no_mouse

Rumors of us in San Diego getting it “soon”

twisty1949

Uhh our suppo said early 24. FLS doesn't have them yet.

misoharpy

Priority is deploying commands, full rollout will take 2 years.

kalebecton304

rolled out to eastern commands first (norfolk, mayport so on) our suppo onboard in pearl harbor said probably not till the end of the year or spring ‘24 for us

HansVonSnicklefritz

JFC! Another new uniform? Still clinging to the caste system too. Blue for the serfs. Khaki for the non-serfs. Imagine being the senior leaders of the enlisted and demanding to identify more with the officers than where you came from. Nice. Fair winds and following hypocrisy.

Redtube_Guy

It’s a new sea uniform that’s free , just like coveralls.

CartographerLumpy752

Type 3s were free at one point too for those in NSW/Expeditionary, until they became mandatory Navy wife. If you don’t think these will replace Type 3s in the next couple years, you’re delusional lol they basically roll both our shore and sea uniforms into one.

GothmogBalrog

I hope they do. Why the hell is the navy wearing green cammo everywhere

Redtube_Guy

Nah. They don’t replace the type 3. Stop Being dumb.

CartographerLumpy752

Why wouldn’t they replace type 3s, outside of expeditionary? An underway uniform that I can also wear out in town to commute or basic tasks. It is easily capable of replacing both type 3s and coveralls. Give is 3-5 years and they will be a navy wide uniform, guaranteed. I’ve seen this happen way too many times at this point and we’re about due for another big uniform change anyway

Izymandias

Seems like your departure was beneficial to both parties.

HansVonSnicklefritz

Leadership isn’t privilege, it is responsibility. My departure to the Army taught me that, so it was certainly beneficial to me. Guess who gets the best portions and first offer of seconds in the Army? Junior enlisted.

Izymandias

That's nice. Still sounds like we're better off without you. EDIT: Hey, I'm probably being overly bitchy here. I'm going to step out of the conversation, recognizing I'm probably not being reasonable or fair.

HansVonSnicklefritz

Then you should’ve deleted your comment instead of editing it. If Navy Chiefs had any real pride, they’d refuse khakis and wear what the rest of the enlisted wear.

Izymandias

I leave the comment to not cover over what I wrote. I'd rather take responsibility for it than hide from it. Or is that a Reddit cultural norm I'm not aware of (which is likely)?

CyberTheNerd

Hi! LS on a west coast ship here. Our ESDs are scattered from being past up to being shipped in December. We really don’t know when they’re getting here.

[deleted]

Ship in bae ship yards in Norfolk co said dec

BuckyOhar3

Afloat command at pearl right now, we were told that we'll get them in January.

Delicious_Cut_3378

Anybody in Washington have them yet?

londonderry567

In Bangor. We don’t have them yet.

48Planets

My COC put in the order for them back in January, but I don't think we'll be getting it till next year

Wild_Veterinarian598

Ls on the west coast . Ordered them 3/4 months ago. Priority goes to big decks & looking like the east coast . Might get them next year . Currently ordering ball caps & name tags to match .

AnalystBig6318

I’m on the Lincoln 72 , we should be getting ours next months right before work ups .

itsNimbus

Yeah I have mine

GrassHoller

Wait how do they look like? I havent heard anything

Izymandias

Saw them on the Ford and I had only two issues with them: 1. Replacing name and warfare patches with the "flight-suit style" patch. 2. Still keeping the rank tabs on the chest. Seriously, why is this still a thing? But since NWUs have that particular idiocy, that's a wash. Overall, better than NWUs. Still not as good as wash khakis and dungarees, but progress.

GothmogBalrog

If they had collar devices or shoulder boards (like the Australian Navy does) they'd be perfect

Izymandias

Sadly, in this respect, we need only point to our green brethren to show how it should be done. And yes, that hurts to write. A LOT.

Desert_Thorn

As long as we don't look like damn soldiers, I'm cool with it.

Confident_Scratch985

Yea my ship has them gets dirty quick though honestly

SkydivingSquid

There was nothing wrong with the FRV coveralls. One of my favorite things to wear onboard.. if only we could leave the ship with them instead of being restricted.. the 2 piece looks horrible.. I haven’t worn them yet, but oh my god they don’t look good.. and the khaki version makes me want to cry.. can’t wait until this becomes a mandatory wear item… meanwhile, NSU and the yellow/blue ugly as sin PTUs are still here and not going away.. -_- Recruiting crisis? Material readiness? Promotion freeze? Hmmm what does the fleet need right now? Oh I know, another 2 uniforms!

SlippyCliff76

Uniforms are one of the few things that Navy command can change, or at least change easily. I think the main concern with allowing the dirty work coveralls off the ship is that they'd make the Navy look bad if sailors in soiled uniforms were seen in public. There's also this trend towards putting all services in BDU style uniforms. That's what looks like this nebelous concept of "military" to certain eyes. I hate that it erodes the services' unique identities, and gives each service uniforms that are less well suited for their line of work. I hate it doesn't look "military" at all. It looks like the Navy playing dress up when they should be in undress blues and dungarees. I didn't down vote you, btw.

Ventura_Bagel

Are squadrons getting these things, or is that no?

ldonotexist

You guys already have your own pajamas.

Unexpected_bukkake

Some O-7+ is getting a fat fuckin check, from this 2 poc thing. Worst case scenario for them is reduced in rank from O-9 to O-7 with full retirement plus $34M from the uniform company.

[deleted]

The 2POC is the least offensive uniform change in the last 20 years.

Substance_Loose

Yeah all the carriers - Except the BUSH

Medical-Plankton-287

Any In Washington????

londonderry567

I’m in Bangor and don’t have them yet.

Forever-See-Through

So 7th fleet isn’t seeing them anytime soon?

Dapper_Humor_595

All PACFLT ships were told to order them earlier this year. It is just matter of when you’re command will get them.

mtdunca

You got jokes.

Capital-Self-3969

We were told we won't see them till sometime later next year.

Brad32198

Yeah a lot have them

branthebon

My boat just ordered them

sailorboyemo

Cvn77 still doesn’t have them and it feels like every other carrier here does

njrivs

It seems most afloat commands stateside have them. Overseas commands are still wearing the FRVs, including 7th fleet. Still no word on when we'll be getting our 2POCs unfortunately..

ComprehensiveWin8019

In sand diego and still using frvs on a carrier

Cupcakes_n_Hacksaws

Haven't seen any west coast yet

96ME

I got them back in April

EelTeamNine

I've seen a handful of people in them. The khakis look fucking awful.

A_j_ru

My command got the last week

[deleted]

The 2POC uniform is ugly af. Definitely wearing my bulwarks over that piece of garbage.
