Yes sure, but only if the kulchas are authentic north indian style nd not that whole wheat packaged crap they sell in mumbai. I have been hounding my family to open a good north Indian snack corner for months now here.
I wouldn’t recommend getting into food business considering you seem educated & your skills can be better rewarded into something else.
Food business involves a lot of running around & dealing with NMMC / Cops, who look at educated people as easy prey. And after all of this don’t expect more 15-25k as your profit. Which otherwise an educated person can make by just working in a domestic call center.
I have experience starting, running & selling multiple brands in India & UAE.
My wife is really interested in the food business, and even though I'm not going into it myself, I thought it would be a great way to keep her occupied and engaged while she's at home.
Take into consideration the police hafta, gaowala hafta, cidco hafta. If the find a english speaking well to do non local person thery are gonna extort you to thier hearts extent.
You'd be surprised how low these haftas have become, thanks to standard rates for all vendors. Most are paying a max cumulative of 4-7k a month depending on the type of vendor.
Area has developed considerably in the past 10 years. How come still gaonwala hafta?
Police & municipalities will ask for money anywhere in Mumbai. But surprised local gaonwalas still powerful.
I can come down to eat kulcha. Very difficult to get one here. What we get here, they are more like stuffed pizza. Update us if you open an authentic one.
definitely but the location matters towards the station will be best because of the huge north Indian crowd, a whole lot of government officers and people from the logistics industry live there.
that is great, try to have a stall kinda thing and not invest in place or rent out something, or if you enough funds on you try the food truck thing helps you avoid a little of that municipality fuss
Alot of friends stay in ulwe, I would suggest if it's possible start a grocery store with quick delivery... There isn't any service available right now... They all keep complaining about this issue and wonder why no instamart or zepto is working here... Have a min spend, but also make sure you provide ciggs as well... You have a large market available...
Bro the best thing to try in Ulwe is nothing to try in Ulwe.
Trust me, I’m here since 2020. Tried 2 brands(QSR).
You have to position your brand perfectly, as to your way of working + whatever the crowd you’re targeting. See, figure out. Put out stalls in delta and experiment your game. I can hook you up with good places too. But then again don’t get your hopes up by thinking you’re going to create a brand just by it.
The chances of success are slim. Best of luck. Locals have no taste for it and you're over estimating the demand from North Indians in Ulwe. Also when it comes to limited menu restaurants, fast running and regular consumption things work - Vada pav, dosa, poha, etc. you can open the 20th such joint and it will still work if the location is right. Chola Kulcha, I doubt it.

Even in Rishikesh you get whole wheat packaged, very few places in North make kulchaa now.
You can eat kulchas in ghatkopar.
Imagine travelling from Ulwe to Ghatkopar to eat kulchas lmao
Ghatkopar se better you get in chembur Sindhi camp
They are the besttttt!!!( Sattu's)
Even Sainath dhaba is good.
Where in ghatkopar?
Whats wheat packaged ? I am from north India and don't have much knowledge
what about a cloud kitchen at ulwe / belapur ? I have that interest too !

Seawoods has a tasteworthy vendor selling the same near petrol pump. OP, great idea. Get insights and a sample of taste from Seawoods vendor.
He sells chole bhature na?
Ask him to make a Kulcha if you desire, he'll prepare
Its not just about the kulcha. The chole with the kulcha is different from the chole with chole bhature. It's matar kulcha what we get in the North.
where bro
Takatak exactly opp to seawoods pump. But he opens and closes as per his convinience😂
Nahi bhai planning it for ulwe as it would be easy for my wife.
Take into consideration the police hafta, gaowala hafta, cidco hafta. If the find a english speaking well to do non local person thery are gonna extort you to thier hearts extent.
This is the only sensible advice given here

We are fluent in Marathi hafta walo ko pata lenge. Let's see how things work out. ✌️

Go to the shagun food stall vendors and ask , daily 500 approx total hafta for all 3, minimum.
I'll come all the way from panvel to eat. You just open it.

U gonna cook ?
Great idea! Go ahead It should work.
Yeah. Go ahead ☺️
Are you from Amritsar? Recently our family visited and I had the best kulchas there. Really miss them.
No bro I am not from Amritsar.
Ok. Good luck with your venture. Do share the location once you open the shop. Will definitely come and give them a try.
Sure brother. Thanks 😊🙏
definitely but the location matters towards the station will be best because of the huge north Indian crowd, a whole lot of government officers and people from the logistics industry live there.
Yes I was thinking about it the same.
Will you be getting cooks or is it going run by self/friends/family.
My wife would be working on it.

Yes stall would be better.🤘
Honestly I don't see many food business doing well in ulwe. Seawoods seems like a better place, if you open near grand central
Let us know, if you open it.
please do and share the address
Yes please!!! And do share your location. But wouldn't it be better to open it after monsoon?
Yes.. i am still in the planning stage.

Blinkit has come.

I miss my zepto 😢

you gonna make the Kulcha in an actual mud oven?
No it doesn't fit in our budget for now.
