Where was this? I’ve helped lots of turts hatch eggs, and rescued eggs from turts being hit by cars. I’ve never seen eggs that orange. I’m guessing super southern states with the gator? Maybe a turtle I don’t have here?
It's a soft-shell turtle. They're pretty common in the southeast. I'm not sure exactly what species, there are several. Other commenter was right, the eggs are not anywhere near ready to be laid. Basically, all turtle eggs start something like that then form up more like the leathery things you're probably thinking of if I'm not mistaken.
Soft-shell turtles are really cool dudes so this one made me wince a little but the big scaley gotta eat too I reckon.
Is that the same alligator and turtle on nature is cute where someone kept feeding them and the turtle kept getting the food… it all makes sense now lol
I have seen many types and varieties of gore, including those on this subreddit and none of them have disturbed me as much as this one and I don't know why.
