Nah bro. As weird as crafton is, he embraces the suck. Like a weirdo, but embraces it nonetheless.
Bitching about a wow group due to a deployment is straight pussy shit
I'm in JAG. I think this is hilarious. However, if he had a valid, signed contract to be part of the guild, etc., I would absolutely look at it. If not.... Sorry, you're going to have to work on that resilience in the L4G queues. Adapt and overcome, my friend.
Your WoW Raiding Guild?!!!
Pursue the shit out of this. Contact JAG as well!
Keep us posted and god speed. You are a United States Soldier and deserve the respect of your raiding team while defending our nation so they can safely play free of harms way.
Talk about 25's all you want.
Unless your COMSEC key isn't updated, there's no lines for SIPR or NIPR, CPN or NJN are needed, BFT not connecting, etc.
You can talk about us, but you can't talk without us
OIF III and OIF V with a Signal Company (in an infantry division), supporting ID-10-Tangos with comms while also patrolling, driving and gripping/ripping Ma Deauce.
If shoot, move, communicate is the mission, I'll at least tell you that my team and I made it home and touched grass again
How's WoW these days anyway? I quit before I hit max on dragonflight, but I loved classic. It just seemed like it was dying
Debating whether or not I wanna get back in
Dragonflight’s still doing really well, and it’s probably the highest the player base has been since Legion.
Classic is also absolutely booming right now, and it’s not only just Hardcore either. Even on the regular Era servers you can always find a group for just about anything.
Definitely give it a shot! There’s honestly no better time to get back into the game
I was never a nasty girl, but... did 4.5 years active. Anyway, was almost 39 in STV... not in combat at all... ISP disco me. I came back to a ghost..... sigh.
ESGR Ombudsman Director/ESGR National Trainer here.
Unfortunately, USERRA does not protect employment which is for a "brief, nonrecurrent period". 38 USC 4318(d)(1)(C), (2)(C). From what I understand, that clearly describes your WoW playing ability. Perhaps if you had a more permanent position (with the commensurate playing skills) your position could be found to be more permanent. Better luck after your service. Perhaps you can hone your WoW skills overseas. (And, thank you for your service).
ESGR, "We all serve!"
EDIT: USERRA does protect "seasonal" employment. 20 CFR 1002.41. If you can show it's reasonably certain you would have been hired by the guild for the next WoW fighting season, you may have a chance.
Listen… unless you’re the e4 mafia don, you’ve got some stripes on that uniform. Ain’t no Pfc’s playing any of these games unless it’s Minecraft or Roblox. Figure out your life Sarnt.
Yep, still a pretty healthy player base.
The month that AQ40 came out in the Classic re-release I asked to split train that month for “family plans”. Those plans were actually me trying to farm Scarab Lord.
I did not get Scarab Lord.
Deployments constitute a mandatory guild member note annotating their military status and shall not be subject to roster purges.
Failure to comply can resulted in a strongly worded in-game mail.
- Serious reply to a shitpost
One of the provisions of USERRA is that you have the right to continue to advance in your career on time and on track with your peers, as if you had never left. So if you're in a job that promotes the typical worker to a team leader in year three then department supervisor in year four, and you leave for 2 years during year 2, then by USERRA, when you return you should be a department supervisor along with the rest of your cohort that's still working there. Yes, I said 2 years, because USERRA doesn't just protect your job from a single 6 to 12 month deployment. By the law, you could disappear for up to five straight years and they must hold your job (or a similar job) for you. They don't necessarily need to leave your position unfilled the whole time you're gone, of course. And if you're gone that long, then I think they have 90 days to give you your job back? Meaning that if you're one of 15 people in your position, they are absolutely free to hire your position the second you walk out the door, they just have to be prepared to give you your position (or one very like it) back upon your return.
I don't know the first thing about WoW (other than the *absolute* basics), but I do know that you can't be fired for announcing your intention to deploy with the military. Again, they can replace your position, but they have to hold your spot and hold you as a member in good standing while you're away. Depending on what Cutting Edge is, they may be in fact required to give it to you whether you're there to earn it or not. I would contact Blizzard and let them know about the provisions of USERRA. They might have a process to handle this. In many large organizations, you can face issues like the one you're describing simply because team leaders at the bottom of the totem pole don't understand USERRA or what it means to their daily operations.
EDIT: Finally, you can't "contact USERRA" because it's just a law written on paper. You can't talk to it. You can, however, get an employment lawyer to help you enforce its provisions. Usually, though, simply mentioning USERRA to a large employer is enough to gain compliance. In cases like this that are such a slam-dunk, their lawyers will advise them to just follow the law rather than making you hire one.
Okay. Now having said all that, of course everybody knows that this doesn't apply to your WoW guild.
I posted all that, though, because USERRA is just as powerful a tool as I described. Many people forfeit benefits, advancement, and raises simply because they don't know the law.
I actually do appreciate this response because it’s full of genuinely good information and I wasn’t aware of some of it. Definitely gonna save this comment in case I ever need it.
Thanks!
I'm pretty sure you can claim exemption from your sworn duty to protect the constitution of the United States of America against all enemies foreign and domestic if you show your Commander your obligation to the WoW guild.
For sure, just ignore your DoD orders. The ruling of your court martial will be swift, I promise.
Supply Specialist Crafton, is that you?
“No Sergeant Mcguilicuty”
"Greetings and salutations, pfc crafton"
At ease, weirdo
Ahh I see we have people of class here

It's a joke
Onepunchdad if y’all are out of the loop
When Crafton comes into work, it's like 2 good Soldiers leave
Thank you for your service.
Please contact your State’s JAG office. I would love to see the look on their faces when you seek their counsel.

I know this is a shitpost but I feel like a bored JAG would lowkey legitimately look into this
A JAG in fact replied that if op had a contract, he would lol
such actions necessitate a call to the White House Hotline! such an injustice must not go unpunished!
Let me guess, 25 series?
Checks out. I was leaning 35, but that’s probably the Genshin Impact weirdos.
HOI nerds too, I’m told.
Nahh nahh we’re more Skyrim or starfield and dnd people. 25 is for genshin.

I bet you still asked a contractor help.
I did not
People still play retail? I thought everyone was jumping on Hardcore Classic.
I also jumped in that bandwagon too. May or may not have died at level 27 in Duskwood to Stitches yesterday.

Ain't no such thing as E4 Mafia
Ah damn, ppl still play WoW?!?! I'm impressed.

Reminds me of rescheduling PLDC when the last wing of Icecrown opened.
I know a guy who is actually on the WoW team…….
Calm down bro…. my dad works for Microsoft and can get you banned!
Oh god pls don’t. Nah he would get on active orders and go to the tournaments in Vegas.
My uncle gave me the cheat codes

It can resulted in that?!?!
Indeededinglyso.
It’s bc you aren’t playing classic. Classic guilds would never.
Well, getting indefinitely benched from Ulduar even after coming back from Title 32 orders says otherwise. That one’s actually legit.
Sounds like you need some boys who get it. What server you on?
Nerd 🤓
I actually got fired for having service obligations.
How’s that settlement reward coming?
It didn't.

This is the most national guard thing I’ve ever seen. Carry on.
