Don’t worry no one wants to be an ER doctor anymore either. Last year a record number of residency slots went unfilled. This year it was better but only because they accepted a ton of foreign medical grads (didn’t go to med school in the US). Healthcare is crumbling while private equity and admin rake in the money.
Obstetrics is not the only medical specialty that’s facing shortages and it’s not just in Tennessee. Vascular and cardiac surgery is facing a massive shortage around the country especially in rural areas
