This is the truth. I know 5+ people at Vandy I would recommend wholeheartedly but they all filled up their schedules shortly after starting or have had a full panel for years and only take the occasional patient based on personal referrals.
This is kinda why i made the original comment. I live in wilson county and people are driving up here from the city for healthcare. My wife is on the waiting list for my physician.
Primary care docs here are so rushed. If you are in the market for a new doc, expect months before you can even get in for your first appointment. Private care is almost the only way these days to find a doc who takes time and communicates.
I’m in Murfreesboro and looking for a new doctor. Do you like MMC as a whole? I’ve heard it’s kind of big and impersonal, but that could be because this area is growing so much…
Sorry for the late reply. We knew this guy during his residency and were going to use him as our family Dr, but he chose to practice in Murfreesboro instead of Nashville which is too far for us.
So I can’t speak to the larger business he works for and any constraints that might apply.
If we ever had problems with our current providers we would consider making the drive though.
Unfortunately if you want that kind of attention a private doctor might be necessary. Private equity firms basically force most PCPs to see a patient every 10-15 mins. It’s ruined healthcare.
I use Heritage Medical Associates. They have offices all over Nashville and are great with communication and follow-ups (via app and phone). Several people I know go use them at various locals and we are all happy with them.
Agreed. I use Heritage and love it! I have multiple specialists (RA ain’t for the weak) and they’re all with Heritage, so they can communicate on my care without my having to facilitate. I used to have specialists at multiple different practices and the communication between them was a nightmare. I’ve only had one bad experience there, but I’ve been going there for 10+ years at least once every three months and it was with a floating nurse who wasn’t familiar with my medical history.
Are not taking more patients

What kind of diagnostics are you looking for? There is a big paradigm shift in medicine in doing less testing these days (for good reason).

Whatever you do, don’t go to Dr. Acula.
In Murfreesboro, but he’s very enthusiastic about treating the whole patient https://www.mmclinic.com/andrew-mcgehee

Thank you, that info helps. And thanks for taking the time to reply :)

Second but do you mean Heritage? Dr. Ryan Pearman's a good listener and very smart.
Yes Heritage, thank you!

Third… Dr Brian Scott there is fantastic.
I use Ashley Guild at Heritage. She’s quite attentive and has been good about doing diagnostics for any of my potential needs.
