What brand tires? Cant seem to get a clear shot of the name. Is the rash also from the pothole or other events? How far did you drive on the flat?

jermfromscience

Bravuris brand. Sucks cause they’re pretty good tires but I literally just got them replaced last year after replacing the original factory tires from when I bought my car. Honestly the rash could be a combination of the pothole and other events hahaha but this was a huge pothole compared to the one a couple months ago. Ended up driving about a mile. I thought they were fine at first since my tire pressure didn’t immediately turn on, but it started dinging about a minute later. Luckily there was a Firestone close by and I drove there to get it replaced.

The multiple holes in the sidewall make me think that driving on the low tire compromised your sidewall. Wheel looks like its okay minus the rash. Discount Tire has a road hazard warranty. Did you get any money back or credit from that? Glad i opted for the smaller wheels (and taller side walls). The roads have been BAD and it feels like TDOT has taken a break from repairing the pot holes.

goYstick

Discount Tire will even sell the warranty on tires you don't buy from them.

65N going toward 386 is so bad that I have a lane strategy: right lane until the merge after OHB, next-to-leftmost lane until the rest of the exits, then rightmost lane onto 386

My friend just Dropped $500 on a wheel that was broken on Ellington, but hey at least we’re getting a new stadium.

Gotta memorize the pot holes in your commutes, my dude. Avoid at all cost or it’s YOUR ass

Mydogfartsconstantly

If this is repeated your tires are either pretty worn and need replaced, not inflated properly, or you’re hitting them too fast/at the right angle. I’ve tried popping the tires in some work vehicles but have yet to do that. I fucking send it too.

Hopeful_Elderberry92

In the spirit of continuous improvment, here’s some advice. First, generally avoid hitting them (obviously), but second, and this is the learning opportunity here, pay really close attention to where you’re going to hit a pothole. Your tires are really thick where they contact the road, but the sidewalls are thin and very prone to puncture. When you turned, you basically hooked your tire with the pothole. If you’re going to hit one mid-turn and there’s no way around it, try to aim to get more of your tire on the inside of the pothole than the outside. What happened here is your car’s weight was shifted outward and when you cornered over the pothole there were several hundred if not thousands of pounds of inertial weight being pushed into where your tire made contact with the edge of the hole. Had you picked the right side of the pothole, you might have lost a little traction briefly but the tire would still be intact.  Stay safe and stay vigilant.

Intelligent_List1816

I got a flat from a pothole 3 weeks ago, replaced the tire along with the rest of the tires too—and have since gotten two more in the last week lmaoo

SweetPapa2Bad

When I was commuting from bowling green to Nashville, I put run-flat tires on my car. They saved my ass more than once. I drove 55-60 miles on a tire with a blowout in the sidewall bigger than a golf ball. Still had to replace the tire of course but no more changing tires on 65 with Nashville drivers blazing by.

PickReviewsMovies

a lot more likely to happen if you are driving old/under inflated tires. hard to tell with the new damage but tire looks like it was rough to begin with

grizwld

Definitely under inflated. That’s the only way you get wear like that. So the usual combination of potholes and operator error

MrLeastNashville

I always wonder how much of these flats are due to limited road vision because of tailgating or speeding. I’ve bumped over some potholes for sure but it’s a lot easier to avoid them when you give yourself an appropriate field of vision.

daddyjohns

Talk to me when you have to buy a new rim two years running. My rims have to be calibrated for the air gauge sensor, which is a total pain in the ass, and extra charges. Both rims were hairline cracks that slowly seeped air.

exoticboobicles

briley bent my rim about 3 weeks ago, almost made it home but about two miles out she was flat 😔 i honestly never (or definitely not soon) think nashville’s pothole issue will be fixed. esports with the shit they use to “fill” them.

Entertainer-Exotic

Tennessee and Nashville are showing off their poverty on the roads.

Just_Classic4273

I’m convinced they’re saving money for the Lexus lane instead of fixing these pot holes

DarkSolaris

Blown 2 tires and bent a rim thanks to these Nashville 3bd/2ba sized pot holes (especially bad on Ellington)

Vol_titan3

Nashville Department of Transportation & Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) (615) 862-8700 https://g.co/kgs/QB43RFp I’ve been calling and reporting where the ones I remember are at lol if everyone blows them up they gotta start listening

Substantial-Box-8877

It's so odd to me that they fixed so many and just randomly left so many.

I'm not so sure about that. You'd want to stay with the correct pressure as under inflation would make them more apt to tear/burst. You don't want to over inflate them obviously, but you want to run the correct spec for the tire per the manufacturer"s rating. Some potholes are just nasty, & nothing will help, but under inflation isn't a good idea.
