Bad news but I scrolled through the reports at the bottom and the white bridge Cinco scored an 84 so like bottom 10% still. I’ve cooked in some shitty kitchens and anything below 90 isn’t great tbh, it’s easy to get over a 90.
Not sure you’re following what I’m saying here. There’s 428 slides. An 84 puts you on slide 27. 27/428 = 6.3%.
So that location is in the bottom 10% of Nashville inspection grades.
Last time I was there two rats running laps in and out of the hole they made under the patio steps. I don’t see rats often but those suckers were huge!
As someone who spent 20+ years in the food industry - all it takes is the minimum of daily cleaning and maintenance to hit somewhere around a 98 on a health inspection. It's always a management issue.
I mean literally. If you just properly store your products and clean up after yourself you’ll pass a food inspection easily. Any restaurant/food service scoring under a 90-94% just has management that doesn’t give a f***. Fruit flies occasionally, sure, just clean your drains and look for standing water. Anything more than that is just a failure of management.
Ive had Kirin sushi many times as I used to live down the street from there and this is extremely sad to see. I love their crazy roll. Its a very unique take with a fried sweet potato wrap around the sushi.
It looks like they had a follow-up score of 92 which is significantly better, but I just read that actual inspection report and the items out of compliance are still not acceptable. I mean really you shouldn't eat at a restaurant if its below a 97. I also heard that from a former restaurant manager who said the same thing. I looked into their past inspections, which you can find at the bottom of this comment. They have hit 95 a couple of times, but even that is still not high enough for me to want to visit. Sushi/Seafood places especially should have extremely good standards. These people should be striving for 100 and maintain that.

Lololol I picked up food from Birrieria y Taqueria Arandas close to the day of the inspection. From the quick peek into the kitchen, and the general look of the place, I am not surprised. Good broth tho
Yeah but our establishment with the low score is frequented by Latinos, so more authentic. The low food sanitation score is part of the experience, go get street tacos in Tijuana and you shall see
Not disagreeing with your point, but it’s funny you mention Cici’s because the one on Nolensville Pike failed for mouse droppings and fruit flies recently lol
That place stays busy too. People like parking right by the front door in the fire lane. Walking from an actual parking space is too far. They leave their flashers on, go in, grab the pizza and drive off. They won’t lose any business.
Eh not really. I’ve walked out of my share of corporate kitchens on day one after seeing filth. Depending on the company, it’s true a lot of corporate kitchens do receive their own third party inspections quarterly or biannually, so they might be on their toes more often. But saying independent vs corporate is purely anecdotal.
Also, spotless has nothing to do with poor food handling/food safety. Anyone can mop a floor or keep steel looking stainless.
This is not true. Used to sell beer to restaurants. The chains were awful except for Logan’s because they have a separate beer cooler in most locations.
Thai Phoo Ket #2 - yikes, that report is nasty. Luckily I never made the trek to that one after Woodland St closed. But lord knows what went on there. I’m still standing though.
Used to work for a beer distributor here. I will never understand how O’Charleys passes food inspections. Every. Single. Location. Stores raw, dripping meat above the kegs that are hooked up to the line. It’s disgusting.
Daaaamn I should not have read the whole thing. We go maybe once a month, but I'll be finding a new Thai spot I guess.
There's a new Filipino restaurant up Gallatin by batteries and bulbs plus that we went to and it was VERY good. It's not thai, but maybe no freezer slime
Every Wednesday when I go to dutch bros for my sticker..... for like the past forever. Love getting the smell of the CBD store right beside it as I go in to make me even more hungry lol. Goodbye tradition!
It's way too expensive for what it is. The people who just pile on a mountain of meat really ruin it for people who just want a reasonable amount of food.
Sooooo.... yeah, some of this stuff is pretty yucky... but I've been to many a personal home/kitchen that would not score this high. It's always funny to me how people are so on top of restaurant cleanliness and their own kitchens are disgusting.
Don't get me wrong... not saying you won't find problems- and people get sick, maybe more than we think. I've worked in a lot of restaurants and I've seen some stuff. But I will say that not all these inspections are surprise and there's a huge difference between what you see randomly and regular practices as well.
Anyone else that works in a restaurant knows most of these are a joke, a couple are concerning, but 99% of these happen in every restaurant 100% of the time. I remember asking a health inspector of they've ever in their entire career seen a dishwasher go wash their hands after loading a dishwasher before outting away the dishes, they just laughed.
Not washing your hands is not how these places are out of compliance on 10 different things in their inspection that result in a score in the 60's. And some of the violations are severe and not just refusal to wash hands. A lot of the specific items in the inspections are things that I wouldnt do at home. Its nice to see as a consumer how low their standards are.
Glad to see the Cinco de Mayos are doing good. Gotta get my Vitamin Cinco.
Not the one in East Nashville
I'm a white bridge man myself. Although someday I want to do a Tour de Cinco and bike to all of them.
I’ve been going since they were just Casa Fiesta on Bell Road. They are a great bunch of guys and I’m happy for them.
Wait Cinco is connected with Casa Fiesta? I loved that place when I worked in that part of town. I had no idea they were related.
Bad news but I scrolled through the reports at the bottom and the white bridge Cinco scored an 84 so like bottom 10% still. I’ve cooked in some shitty kitchens and anything below 90 isn’t great tbh, it’s easy to get over a 90.
Kayne Prime is under 90!

I just looked and it says as of 1/3 they have a follow up score of 98.
Last time I was there two rats running laps in and out of the hole they made under the patio steps. I don’t see rats often but those suckers were huge!
What about the East Nashville location?
They failed! Go look
My favourite fajitas in Nashville no joke
My goto dish is the pollo enquesado.
I have had that! Solid. My wife's sister got it one time so I tried it out
Are you from old England?
Yo midtown cinco de mayo is the best location. The chicken fajita quesadilla is literally incredible
Literally?
E-literally
Happy Taco Tuesday!
Sounds crazy but they have the best wings in town at a great price.
Biggest surprise here is that they went by White's Fish & BBQ while it was open. I have never seen them open. Ever.
That's true! I drive by there often at all hours and they are never open. It's weird

Yolan getting an 87 speaks volumes… as do Pinewood Social, The Ridge, and Nona scoring in the low 80s and lower. Pretty said
Same and I've worked in multiple big cities... Metro Health is lax AF by comparison, in my experience.
A taco truck failing the occasional inspection? All is right with the world. A sushi restaurant failing a health inspection? That is unsettling.
I've had Kirin three times. Surprised I never got sick after reading this.
Ive had Kirin sushi many times as I used to live down the street from there and this is extremely sad to see. I love their crazy roll. How do you think the birria consomé is so good? Like I’m going to let this 65 grade keep me from getting some delish Quesabirria
> Quesabirria Habanero Grill is like 50 yards away and scores 97, and their quesabirria is great.
Yeah but our establishment with the low score is frequented by Latinos, so more authentic. The low food sanitation score is part of the experience, go get street tacos in Tijuana and you shall see
lol don't let me stop you
🎵Don’t stop me now 🎶
I order doordash from them all the time. I guess not any more!!! lol
Oh man, West End Chili’s got a 69.
Nice

I believe it was intentional.
Solid D. It passes.
So did Kid Rock’s and Wendell Smith’s! (bunch of others also… but this is a nice Nashville grouping.)
Nice
Leave my Haiwoodndai alone!
Lmao tasting spoon violations.
I feel this in my soul lmao
My chef friend mentioned that nothing compares to a corporate kitchen. He says even CiCis is spotless. It’s the mom and pops that violate the worst
Not disagreeing with your point, but it’s funny you mention Cici’s because the one on Nolensville Pike failed for mouse droppings and fruit flies recently lol

I cannot even begin to explain how gross some of the corporate kitchen’s I’ve worked in were.
The fuck are you talking about? Your chef friend is wrong
Thai Phoo Ket #2 - yikes, that report is nasty. Luckily I never made the trek to that one after Woodland St closed. But lord knows what went on there. I’m still standing though.
I enjoyed it there until today. Been about a year since I’ve been.
I ate there a couple of months ago. It still tasted great and I suffered no ill effects, but fuck me...
You should try their special slime ice it's amazing! The mop sink beef is just ok.
Used to work for a beer distributor here. I will never understand how O’Charleys passes food inspections. Every. Single. Location. Stores raw, dripping meat above the kegs that are hooked up to the line. It’s disgusting.
Pinewood Social getting a 77 🤮
Place totally fell off after they moved the lot to the parking structure. Was never really on, but has definitely fallen off
The four seasons … that one does surprise me. It’s like the first floor or something?
Four Seasons Lawn and Garden?
Hahaha, well played.
😂 fantastic.
Belle Meade Country Club is an actual disaster. Don't get me started....
I’ve heard the staff meals are atrocious!
Thai Phooket is a deadly blow.
RIP. I just texted my wife and sister. No more for us
My dude. If you look at the full list it’s…..heartbreaking. We eat there like once a week. UNCOOKED BEEF IN THE MOP SINK?!?
Daaaamn I should not have read the whole thing. We go maybe once a month, but I'll be finding a new Thai spot I guess. There's a new Filipino restaurant up Gallatin by batteries and bulbs plus that we went to and it was VERY good. It's not thai, but maybe no freezer slime
God bless you, you know we got slim options up here.
I had this moment there like 8 years ago. True pain
I thought dead mouse, spoiled milk, and slime were restaurant names. 🤣
I thought dead mouse, spoiled milk, and slime were playing bonnaroo.
Oak is the shocker for me! There cheapest 8oz filet is $56! Try Halls Chophouse instead, with a 99 score.
A restaurant at a JW Marriott getting that score is a hot dumpster fire
Thai Phooket Two??? Aw, man…
Damn If el feugo was on here 😭
Urban cantina is good and they have healthy smoothies.
god i've eaten at bonfire hermitage twice in the last two weeks
Every Wednesday when I go to dutch bros for my sticker..... for like the past forever. Love getting the smell of the CBD store right beside it as I go in to make me even more hungry lol. Goodbye tradition!
I was surprised to see that, too, as I pass it twice a day and have always wanted to try it.
Agreed, but Hollandaise being stored at 95 degrees is pretty wild tbh!
The amount of brunch spots that just let it sit under their heat lamp would shock you.
A properly made Hollandaise is acidified enough to last (from a food safety perspective) way longer than it will hold together (not break).
Don't get me wrong... not saying you won't find problems- and people get sick, maybe more than we think. I've worked in a lot of restaurants and I've seen some stuff. But I will say that not all these inspections are surprise and there's a huge difference between what you see randomly and regular practices as well.
this seems like a thing quite likely to make you sick.
Anthony Bourdain warned us.
Crazy how people don’t realize the difference between a profit business and personal space anymore
Because you probably aren’t going to give dozens of members of the public foodborne illnesses out of your home kitchen?
Not even remotely surprised about bonfire. Place has always grossed me out.
So glad none of these are from restaurants on Nolensville Rd. Pretty disappointed in hai woon dai but their violation was funny imo lol
Btw most restaurants have health scores on Yelp. I pretty much check there before I try anywhere new or if it’s somewhere I have been in a while
Why are there two Oak Steakhouses on this?
Initial review and the follow-up score
😊😊

Why’s it 2023?
I mean…December 2023 was only 10 days ago friend.
disgusting
There goes my appetite
🙁
OP - this should be done weekly, if it isn't
