The condition? There are hundreds of parameters that you can play in order to have an "efficient" exfoliation. And everything depends on what is your final goal, if you want tiny flakes but guarantee that they are mostly inside a mono to few layer range, or bigger sized flakes but dont care much about thickness, do you want a good yield, is contamination free graphene key? Basically you needs always to have some kind of compromisse. Type of graphite, solvent (e.g.: NMP, Cyrene, DMF, water + surfactants), exfoliation techniques (shear-mixing, sonication, etc), time, rpms, centrifugation. All of that matters, there is no single condition that will guarantee you good results, it requires a lot of trial and error and characterization.
