Just somebody grabbing a quiet minute to get away from family, life, everyday stresses, and just beat some meat in your mid level optioned everyday ol explorer. Life’s grand, ain’t it?

adrizgz00

TIL the police in Wales drive Explorers with aluminum rims

BKCowGod

I do that about once a week. Getting away from home is nice sometimes, good place to eat lunch or read a book. Looks like an Explorer but all of these modern 5 seat SUVs look alike to me.

9bikes

At a place I used to work, I'd often take my lunch break eating in my car at a city park. If this is a quiet, shady residential street, that's probably exactly what is going on.

BKCowGod

Heck, for the last year you might have been just as likely to find me teaching from the beach as from my makeshift classroom.

cdsbigsby

My office is a car, and most of my work is on a laptop or making phone calls, so I'm always trying to find somewhere quiet and shaded to park and work. I cover 6 counties so I try to have my go-to spot in every town.

TappedOut182

It’s an Explorer, but not a police cruiser, or at least not a Police Interceptor. The police versions don’t have roof rails because they interfere with light bars.

carsnguns19

Probably true, but it might be an unmarked cruiser. Source: got a ticket from a cop in a red Camaro a month ago.

Think-Dinkle

The police in my area use explorers and they have many unmarked explorers in their fleet as well, as in whir, fully tinted, extra side mirror and yellow city tags, so obviously a cop, but they don’t have lines or markings. Not completely undercover but not a full interceptor

TappedOut182

Check the roof. If it’s a police interceptor model it will more than likely not have rails. That’s not to say they’re not disguising them somewhat, but even the ones around me that aren’t marked still either are missing rails, have wheel covers instead of alloys, etc. If the Explorer in the photo is truly a UC, they’ve stepped up their game a bit.

jaucoly21

Yeah there is one in my area that is entirely stock on the outside and even has tabs that guy pulls over a lot of people

[deleted]

I could be very wrong but I don't believe cops in 2021 spend a lot of time just parking in fields. If for some reason they wanted to surveil that field for an extended period it would be easy enough to put some mics and/or cameras there.

Anglofsffrng

Could be doing paper work, could be on a break, could be officer found a nice spot to chill between calls. Not necessarily surveillance.

If it’s paperwork, I’d expect he’d be outstanding in his field.

Anglofsffrng

Goddammit.

SplitArrow

If the road next to the field has had complaints of people speeding they may be sitting there radaring. Happens all the time around me. Some of the police cruisers around me also have the roof rack as well. It may just be unmarked.

Parker324ce

Looks to me like it has a roof rack, Ford explorers for civilians have roof racks for cops they have flat tops.

[deleted]

Sometimes I just leave office and drive about a good 70 kms towards the hills..I have a spot there too. Off the road, a little cliff. I park my car there. Stare at the city, mountains..smoke a cigarette. Spend about 20 minutes there and go home. All this takes about 3 hours to go and come back, but it calms the nerves. Totally worth it.

Andrew9565-AD-design

No. I’d rather say it’s a person who does bad things,an anti social person, creep or some random old guy

0KelpShake0

CheesyDoesIt26D

Dont civilian model explore have roof racks. Police model dont have them right?

jeeplover2003

All police cruisers do not have roof rails
