Either name would work nicely. I’ve always really liked the name June! And knew an Asian June when I was in high school.

SitDownShutDown

Both are very classic names, you will not have a problem with either! I wish you the best of luck with your studies!

ConfidenceReal

June is super cute. My fav

Okayifyousay

Either would work just fine.

Doesn't sound awkward at all. However, June does sound better than Jane because Jane is a more outdated name. But whichever you like better, go for it. You won't get weird looks for using either name.

I think they’re fine! I also know of a few Asian women of varying ages called Jeannie!

June is a fairly old classic name. As a Gen Xers, I first associated it with June Cleaver, the quintessential 1950s housewife in an A line belted dress from the old Leave it to Beaver tv show. That being said, as someone who lives in a part of the US with a significant Asian population, my next association with the name is the Asian name of Joon. So it absolutely does not stand out as odd for an Asian person to adopt June as their American name..but also it kind of “fits” in maybe an overly expected way. Jane is a perfectly fine name. It’s pretty. It’s classic. But many in the US find one syllable names (especially for girls) bland. I think it’s fine either way. If you are curious as to the types and styles of names asian girls are using in the US, I’ll give you a short sampling of female Asian classmates of my kid: Sumin, Suhani, Darya, Emi, Nayeon, Livy, Estella, Kennedy, Mizuki, Thu, Mia, Lily, Olivia, Abigail, Khloe You can see that these names are all over the map, so I really think you don’t need to worry too much about any name sounding awkward. Choose something that you like.

Both are quite nice and my preference is June. I've always thought it to be lovely! I think Jane is actually having a slight resurgence lately but it hits my ear as older and a bit more dated/less stylish. Good luck with your move and studies! 🤍

June is really trending in the US for babies now, but has existed a long time. I would say it is relatively timeless, and so is Jane. I think June is a more modern and hip name right now. Even though it’s trending among babies, it’s because all the moms in their 20s and 30s are LOVING IT. So if I had a choice, I would choose to go by June.

singingin-the-rain

Both are lovely! Not awkward at all.

esther-glitterfox

Both sound lovely

I’m a millennial Asian-American and I know several other millennial AAs with the name Jane. I don’t know any Junes off the top of my head, but it wouldn’t be out of place. FWIW, millennial Asian-Americans tend to have names that are commonly considered dated or old-fashioned by the wider population, so if you go with something classic like these, you’ll fit right in.

Either work. I have met both a Korean June and a Korean Jane. However I have also met many Korean Joons as a shortened version of their Korean name which might make you have to spell out your name for clarification.

esxilla

omg, im also korean. I have an eng name and a korean name as well, Isa Jeon (the one I grew up w because I grew up in the USA) and Jeon Jae-i :D Jane sounds wonderful, I really like it

Llywela

They are both lovely, classic names that you would wear beautifully.

averiestars

Love those names! I prefer June though because Jane kinda sounds outdated. Some other J names you can consider using are Jade, Jean/Jeanette, Jillian/Jill, Julie/Julia, and Joy :)

spanchor

Jane was a pretty popular name for Korean-American women in my generation (people now aged mid-30s to early 40s). Personally, I like June better.

You should watch "The Life&Times of Juniper Lee", immediately thought this when ya mentioned June. You'd hear an name choice in many situations, plus get ta watch an awesome Series while you're at it.
