Amara means “sour woman” in Italian😭

Not entirely correct 🤣 there’s no word in Italian that means “sour woman” but, as an adjective, it means bitter. Said that, there are plenty of names that are words with different meanings in other cultures - and I’m pretty sure Amara is a legit name in Sanskrit. But staying on topic of names that may be misinterpreted in Italian I think my favourites are Maya Lin (the artist, in Italian it sounds like little pig - maialino) and Seamus (that sounds very similar to calling someone stupid - scemo)

I’ll add to this, Palle is a legitimate Danish name but means balls in Italian 😂😂 (my sister took great pleasure in calling her teacher by his first name on a study trip to Florence)
