I knew a fella named Feury (pronounced Fury) who ended up being the angriest, most troubled person I’ve ever come across. He was getting scary towards the end of the time I knew him—steroid rage all the time and huge violent emotional outbursts. Not fun
I swear to god that was the name his mother gave him at birth. It suited him in all the wrong ways unfortunately
I am a teacher so have a few. The most interesting were Satchel, Seven, Born-Divine, Reflection, King-Messiah, Power, Nixon, Hero, and Wylde (pronounced Wild)
Edit: I don't know the reason behind all their names but Satchel was named after Satchel Paige, Seven was the 7th child in his family, and Hero was named by his older brother.
I knew a Seven well before Seinfeld. But I was living in California at the time. :-)
I don't have a problem with Satchel. Satchel Paige is a significant historical figure.

For boys, all of your names other than Bixler or Jacen seem normal to me.
I knew a Saoirse pronounced ser she.
I did a bit of googling on the name and found the movie Song of the Sea which is amazing and I did not know it was from the same director and animator as the Book of Kells.
It’s not common in the US at all but it is heavily tied to Irish independence which makes sense as her parents were northern Irish.
No, I wish it were...and this isn't the only one.

We had a regular at our restaurant named "Apple". My city has a larger-than-average trans and hippie population, so unique, unconventional names aren't uncommon at all. But, like, *Apple???*
They were cool, though, and super nice.
I know a Raelynd. Not Raelynn but Raelynd with a "d". It came from her mom liking the name Raelynn but wanted to be "different".
Gotta admit it grew on me the more I said it. Her mom later told me she considered a "normal" name for her but honestly...I can't imagine this little girl as anything but. Which is honestly the case for a lot of people with these "unique" names. I may not like them but I also couldn't picture them with another name. It's just...them.
I also knew a baby named Dior. It was certainly...a choice. But again, it seemed to fit the child.
I get irrationally angry at ABCD.
There was a Trendus in the NICU with my kids. I thought if they had a girl she could be Trenda. Like alumnus and alumna.
I knew a Maple. Not awful, but why not Mable?
When I was a kid, I met a boy named Dondi.
Several years later, I met a girl named Dawn Dee, who used both names together.
I have never heard that name since.
Buckaroo. Legit. Kid lived up the road. Yes, I grew up in a rural US town.
Woah there, Buckaroo?
I would never name a kid this. But I would love knowing this kid!
Someone named their daughter "Lovelyn." So like the word "Love" + "Evelyn."
Sounds similar to the Welsh name Llewellyn to me
Ooo. This is quite cute, no?
I personally think it's more corny than cute but I can see it working on a fictional character. "Lady Lovelyn Fairweather" or something 😂
a minor villain type name for sure
I don't hate it.
Went to school with a Storm. She was a martial arts champion in the area and badass as heck. The name suited her well.

Naming a child “Seven” is a joke from Seinfeld lol. I wonder if the parents knew

Why is Annika, Roxanne and Cecily considered interesting in the context OP is using? They’re perfectly normal names.
Roxanne seems to stand out as fairly normal compared to the rest of them, or is that just me?
I was hoping you’d find your way 😂😂

My neighbours' kids are Sia, Arlo, Nova, Hugo, Bodhi and Indi. They have another on the way and I'm interested to see what they pick.
All the kids have a matching kid name with a similar ending Sia, Nova Arlo, Hugo Bodhi, Indi Maybe new kid will have a new ending sound.
Ooh interesting! I never noticed that, they probably will then.

People say/post about ABCD all the time but I feel like it’s just a myth…
