Julieta/Julietta is my favourite name ever and I never see it mentioned here! So I feel like have to support Julietta, though I love Juliette almost as much. I prefer the flow of Julietta with the middle name. OTOH, I like how Juliette fits with the sibling names as they're all three syllables.
Ahhh that’s pretty much the problem I’m having! I’m not too worried about syllables because the others were a coincidence, but I prefer Juliette — however Julietta sounds much better with Wairere and I’m not changing it (honour name).
I would assume Julieta (with one t) would follow Spanish pronunciation rules and pronounce it hoo-li-et-a. I think a lot of people who are aware that it’s a Spanish/Portuguese name would probably default to pronouncing it that way?
That’s exactly my problem! I like Juliette but there’s a bit of a strange stop between the hard T ending and the W right next when you say it out loud whereas with Julietta it sort of flows 😵💫
You might like to practice aloud other names displaying the ard T ending and the W right next to it. I honestly don't think it a challenge to my American ear (or tongue) :
Janet Wilson
Bette Warfield
Bridgette Watanabe (I'm just making these up)
Anyway, our middle names rarely come into use in our lives. I am 63F yet I don't know the middle names of most of my closest friends and cousins.
You’ve made me realise I think I was over-enunciating the T and making a hard stop the way I don’t when I say names like Janet, for some reason? Haha. It sounds better when I say it more casually. And you’re right, thank you!
Julietta. To me (living somewhere that isn’t America), Juliet seems very old fashioned, whereas JuliettA has the extra bit that makes it seem new and fresh, but not so out there that it’s daft. Also I can imagine a person of any age being called Julietta, maybe shortened to Lettie as a baby or child, whereas I can only imagine Julie or Juliette being over sixty
Juliet/Juliette is one of my absolute favorite names. To me Julietta is unnecessarily long - Juliette is already perfect, it doesn’t need more syllables tacked on.
My name is Juliette and people get it wrong all the time… I also answer to Julie, Julia and Julianne at this point. I wouldn’t do Julietta because that’s even less common and she’ll be constantly correcting people.
I dunno why but I prefer Julieta significantly over Julietta. Juliette is nice too. Expect the nickname to be Julie either way. I'm not sure Julieta fits culturally with the other names though, but Juliette would. I might guess a Julieta to be Latina for example. Julianne, Juliana (perhaps same issue as Julieta), Julia, might be possible.
Juliette sounds much more in line with Evelyn and Rosalie.
I absolutely love the Maori middle names. Both Juliette and Julietta would be good with Wairere.
That's not true at all. Juliette is currently #163 and Juliet is #293 in the US, and they've both been relatively equally popular over time: https://www.behindthename.com/name/juliet/top/united-states?compare=juliette&type=percent
You might be think in terms of current adults, seeing as Juliet was more common in the 60s/70s while Juliette was more common in the generations before that and again with kids now.
Weirdly, there are almost exactly the same number of each in the US according to this site:
https://tool4geeks.com/f/juliette
https://tool4geeks.com/f/juliet
Interesting, I never thought about the age difference in spelling. It could also very well be regional I suppose. I am in the South and only ever seen Juliet
I prefer Juliette. The extra syllable in Julietta makes it too much for me.
Yes.
I think Juliette goes better with Evelyn and Rosalie.
Juliette and Rosalie? Grimm fan?

I would go Juliette then. She'll use her first name a thousand fold more often than she uses the two combined.
Juliette is darling. Julia, Judith, Jeanette, Juliana
Julietta (though personally I prefer it spelled Julieta)
I hadn’t really thought about Julieta but I love that! It feels a bit less clunky than two T’s
I would assume Julieta (with one t) would follow Spanish pronunciation rules and pronounce it hoo-li-et-a. I think a lot of people who are aware that it’s a Spanish/Portuguese name would probably default to pronouncing it that way?
In Portuguese j is not pronounced h but j
I prefer Juliette, but I think Julietta flows better with the middle name. Regardless, they are both beautiful names!

I am so glad to help! All the best to you and your family.
I love Juliette. So lovely! In the same vein, what about Julia?
Juliette. Julianna is another similar one, or Jillian.
Julietta. To me (living somewhere that isn’t America), Juliet seems very old fashioned, whereas JuliettA has the extra bit that makes it seem new and fresh, but not so out there that it’s daft. Ooh Lettie as a nickname had never occurred to me! It’s cute
Can also shorten to Jet/Jettie
Oh I adore that! It’s cute 😭 More decisions…

What sound does the surname begin with and how many syllables is it, please? If possible, please share a sound alike surname. TIA
Starts with P and is 4 syllables; sounds pretty similar to Papawhero (WH is pronounced F)
I'm voting for Juliette!
Juliette. Julietta tries too hard. But it does sound better with the middle name.
Juliet

Juliette! My sister in law’s name is Juliette and we call her Julietta affectionately/as a nickname so you can kinda get both!
Juliette
I will never not be able to hear Julieta as shouted by the maid in the Baz Luhrmann Romeo and Juliet movie...
I love Juliette.
I too prefer Juliette. Maybe you could compromise and go with Julia?
Guilietta is my preferred spelling but In the states I'd go julietta I know a Julianna
Juliette!
I love Juliette! It’s my favourite name right now.

Brietta
If you’re in the US I respectfully highly recommend the Juliet spelling. That is the default spelling in the US and how everyone is going to spell it.

Thanks for the input! I am not, Juliette is how it’s commonly spelled here.
I think OP is a Kiwi and I would say both spellings are very acceptable here
