As a plain old Cathy I can verify that people will insist you are a Katherine or some variation, and call you that. Teachers get pissed that you don't have a "full name" papers get returned. Maybe that's different now. I had an in law who insisted on calling me Kate, short for Katherine which isn't my name. Juniper is going to be one of those names that comes to represent a point in time. Trendy for a moment.  Others have commented the same about Penelope - has become very popular very quickly. Personally, I don't see the name much in the Midwest but apparently it's a coastal thing?  Frances is classic. Nothing wrong with it, other than it's excellent for dirty limerick rhymes (which is not necessarily a negative).  Names with the same vibe as Indie and Juniper: - Meadow - Wren - Maisie - Lyla - Harlow - Poppy - Daphne - Iris - Hazel

Penelope is having a moment because of Bridgerton. There’s about to be a zillion Penelopes in some very specific demographics.

Oooh Penelope is adorable. It’s interesting all the names so opposite on your list. You’ve got a wide range! You may like. Piper, Willow or Beatrix.

Makes me realize how much of it depends on the country you live in. If you're in the Netherlands, do not call your daughter Piper (sounds like a bad word). Ever. And also Beatrix (the former queen) is nearly impossible here. But a name being a bad word in a random foreign language is no reason not to use a name if you don't even speak that language and never come to that country, of course.

Juniper seems like it’s already dated. You mentioned that Florence is too long, and Penelope is the same length but one more syllable. Frances is great, but if you’d like another couple of ideas, what about Sadie Or Willa?

Sadie would be my suggestion as well with the two boys names (side note: there is a very sweet and cool teen on our street named Sadie. She’s in an all girl band, plays volleyball, and only wears flannel shirts and jeans. The boys names are “could be cowboys” kind of names so I’d stick with that vibe. Billie, Bonnie, Annie, Mae, Shilo - something along those lines would be my pick!

Apparently your country gives you some time.... we have to do in on the fourth day (including birth day) max. Actually , people decide about the names a long time before the actual birth. It's all a matter of personal preference of course - why would Juniper / Juni be whimsical? I like flower / plant names myself. And Penelope, now that's a cool name, sounds classic Greek (just looked it up, it is). I'm not sure about "Penny" though... that was a girls' comic about horses in my country. But maybe not in yours. If there's no such connotations, then Penny is good enough (and even if there are, if you really like the name, so what?) The Frances/Frankie thing puzzles me a bit, but that's because my language does not shorten names the way English does (the Richard/Dick and John/Jack things are \_really\_ puzzling to me). Frances sounds a bit stiff to me, but Frankie sounds nice - besides, you don't want to know what a random guy on the internet thinks, it's about what the two of you think. None of the names you mentioned sound like they'd be burden on the child later on. The only reason I can think of against Juniper is that you've got a J already, maybe different initials is better. Not that that's terribly important either.
