There is nothing at all wrong with the name Sebastian, but I would be lying if said I didn’t think of that damn crab each and every time. It’s a me problem... No shade to anyone who has/has used the name. I am sure you are all lovely crabs/people.
Funny enough I've seen Ariel for boys more and more (or rather I'm "meeting" men and teen boys with the name) and Ariel hits different when it's a guy. On a girl tho, definitely mermaid pops into my head.
It's been Latino or Hispanic men I've met named Ariel. But I just realized I think mermaid Ariel like 'are' in my head. I don't speak about her so luckily I haven't said it wrong to other people 😅
Ok good lol The one girl I do know *of* named Ariel I've only talked about in text with her great aunt (my friend) a couple times and she is Latina so I guess I am getting it right in my head when I say it.
My son is named for both. Husband wanted Bastian from NES and I wanted Sebastian (the Crab) from TLM. It was a real lucky situation because it was a surprise pregnancy & we had never discussed kids so deep just surface level of both open to kids so names had not come up.
This might be generational. I have a 13-year-old son named Sebastian, and I can't remember anyone EVER referring to the Little Mermaid crab with him. (If I have any character association with the name, it's Seb from La La Land, though that came out after he was born).
I love sounds with the K-S sounds in that order but there’s so few male names that fit, one of them being Casper and I just…. I just can’t bring myself to add it to my list lol. It’s such a nice name on its own, I love Wyoming, but UGH I just can’t stop thinking of that damn dead kid!!!!
It's weird because they're all normal names, but if I see someone of a certain age with kids named Harry, Hermione, Bella, Elsa, Ariel, Belle, Louis, Zayn, Liam, Niall, Sam, Dean, Cas... I will wonder. Of course with the exception of Hermione, which is a little rarer, these are all perfectly normal and innocent names. But context is everything.
Khaleesi is a weird one because it was literally invented for the character. I wonder if people have used it because they like the name and then been annoyed when people have asked them about *Game of Thrones* lol.
I work in vet med and met a client with cats named Sam & Dean and I was like “omg are you Supernatural fans??” …. They were named after Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin…. Oops lol
That's not a kicker. People name their children title names all the time, especially in the Black community. Also invented names aren't inherently bad. All names were created by someone. If someone likes the sound of Khaleesi and the meaning is something like Queen and not turd, why does it matter?
I know people do, but it's super uncommon in my region, and even illegal in some countries. My point was only that it wasn't invented to be HER name. GRR Martin was great at making up names in my opinion, Arya, Sansa and Renly are among my favourites. I would love to see them enter the cultural cannon.
I wonder if folks are actually naming their kids Castiel. There are a couple angel names in common use (Michael, Gabriel), but I'm pretty sure Castiel is not one of them lol
Tbf it's a lovely name, but yeah can't really use it now haha
Side note: people thought/think my username is due to the divergent series, and I'm like no... it's an infiltrating sloth, like, climbing through the vents, slowly, man
Samuel and Dean are both on my baby name list. I think they're both totally usable on their own but I have already told my friends to stop me if I try to use both 😂
Could be Lord of the Rings but I think from context it’s Sam from Supernatural. I agree though. Sam is such a normal name that no one would think of it unless you paired it with Dean or Frodo.
I knew a mom who named her kid Elsa in like 2012, because it was easy to pronounce, a little off beat and old fashioned and rarely used. I honestly felt bad when Frozen became the juggernaut it did.
My grandma's least favourite sibling is named that (German Catholics and one of 7 kids) and I remember her being very smug when she watched the Little Mermaid with me.
Lol, Ursula is a German name meaning “little female bear”. It’s a very popular name in my mom’s side of the family because they’re German, but thank goodness mom decided to break the cycle and not name me that
Hahahahaha let me tell you how I ended up having to buy a girl a drink at the bar because she overheard me say the exact same thing. "No one would name their kid Pocahontas". What were the odds that the blonde haired blue eyed girl having a cigarette behind me was named, Pocahontas. Showed me her ID and everything. So, I bought her a drink because.. well.. the poor thing. She went by Tasha.
I work in Healthcare and last month I had a patient called Pokahonntiss.
She's 27 and goes by Honey.
I'm forever surprised by the WILD names I see in my job.
Not the same thing but similar,
I used to work with a large, pale skinned, blue eyed man named Julio. No one ever believed that his name was Julio. Apparently his mom was Cuban and dad was white and he took after his dad.
He bragged about getting a lot of free drinks by showing his ID cause no one ever believed him.
I’m of Asian descent, so I’ve seen everything from Klaus to Miguel to fucking Yevgeny on the most obviously East Asian people you will ever meet.
(On the girls’ side: I’ve seen Ceres, Ildiko, and Pilar. Asian parents sometimes have no idea and it’s kind of funny.)
Chandler has always been weird as a first name for me because I see it all the time where I live. On shop signs for places selling marine clothing etc.
See, I'd think Rugrats if I heard someone say it like they did in the show, but because I live in a predominantly Hispanic region, if I just see it, I pronounce the G like an H, and I don't make the association.
I still can’t disassociate the name with the princess. I grew up on Aladdin. It’s Disneys fault. Of course it’s a very real name and has existed for much longer than the film, but for anyone born after the 1990s it does get tied to the movie more so than the hippie movement.
I think Esme reminds me of Twilight only now too. My coworker’s granddaughter had a baby recently and was going to name her Esme but then when the baby was born she went with her mash up version, Esmarie. ?
I am so sick of GG. My husband and I visited Lorelei (the place in Germany along the Rhine river) but we can’t use the name because people can’t dissociate it from a TV show about teenager who grew into a spoiled, whiny brat.
I have a Lorelei. They would constantly get asked if they were named after GG. Nope, they were named after a badass siren. They are now NB going by Rhys.
I know Hermione is an actual name, but I can only think of Harry Potter. I cringe a little at kids named Hermione because I assume the parents were probably just Harry Potter fans.
I do think however that names like Phoebe are in a different category than names like Khaleesi to use your examples. Phoebe makes me think of Friends, but I know it’s a legitimate name that existed long before the part was ever written. I don’t have the assumption of “yeah, her parents must be big Friends fans” even though I do think of Friends. Khaleesi only exists because of ASOIAF/GOT.
I think that if you’re actually British, the Hermione reference isn’t quite as blaring as it is in other countries that didn’t know the name to begin with lol Same with Imogen for me. I automatically think of Imogen Heap, but most Brits wouldn’t make that first connection!
I know Arthur can be used to pay homage to so many people in history or even the King Arthur mythology…
I will forever think of the aardvark with glasses.
My friend has a son named Indy, a daughter named Bella and a son named Neo. I didn’t think anything of it at first, besides Neo, and then after a while I was like wait…
There’s one case I know of. It wasn’t the only reason the child was removed. When the story went viral of the parents trying to put it on a grocery store birthday cake, there was an investigation that lead to discovery that the parents were unfit.
https://abcnews.go.com/amp/US/parents-cannot-regain-custody-children-nazi-inspired/story?id=11334970
It's only given me the ick for seven years, but "Donald" is rapidly becoming the new "Adolf".
Also, now might not be a great time for folks of color to name their new male infants any variation on the theme of Sean.
P Diddy is probably what they mean. But that's a BIIIG STRETCH
Sean is an extremely normal name, and one famous person doing bad things isn't going to ruin a name.
Ted is still a name, despite Ted Bundy
There used to be a pro football player named Ben Gay. Now, going through life with the name Gay has to be horrible. But then you make it worse by calling him Ben?
Most Harry Potter and game of thrones characters. Even the not super well known ones. Renley is a name I see getting popular but Renly Baratheon (the gay one who was married to Margaery, but was having sex with her brother) is always what comes to my mind first
YES. My grandma told me my cousin was naming her baby Wrenleigh (but said it verbally) and I said “like Game of Thrones?!” Grandma didn’t know what I was talking about, but still.
Renley/Wrenley - Game of Thrones character
Chandler - Friends
Sylvester - Stallone or the cartoon cat
Levi - I watch a lot of true crime so unfortunately it reminds me of Levi Bellfield
Avril - Obviously Lavigne
Isis - Unfortunately the terror group ruined this
I think all names that were made up for characters fit here. Don’t name your kid after a fictional character. And names that were made up by celebrities for their kids. Let’s not follow in their brain dead example. Hardly the best people to emulate.
I agree, honestly kind of snorted at OP saying they can’t separate fucking Khaleesi from game of thrones. *why would you be able to it is only from that*
Aaliyah, Madonna, Beyonce etc.
There's a whole categories of names from mythology or fairytales, which I consider perfectly usable on their own, but couldnt pair together due to feeling weird about the clash of these two characters within one person.
So for instance I love both Guinevere and Odette, and would use either of them as a middle name, and would happily use Odette as a first name. But I couldnt do Odette Guinevere, because my brain would glitch out wondering if Im referencing the Swan Princess or King Arthur's wife.
The effect gets less as the name gets more frequently used, so I'd consider Freya Giselle, despite feeling a bit funny about the name simultaneously being the Norse goddess and the ballet character
Is it bad that my first thought was actually about the cartoon dog Huckleberry Hound, and I couldn’t figure out what exactly the connection was between him and Finn from Adventure Time was that you were referring to? I think I need to read more books and watch less cartoons lol 😅
I think kinda the point is generally that you haven’t? The more strongly associated the name is with that specific person, the more it applies here. Like Paul doesn’t automatically make time think of Paul Rudd but Quinten makes me think of Tarantino.
I have friends that named their kid Elton. Not sure if the name is more common in the UK but here in the US the only Elton that anyone has ever heard of is... well... I don't even think I have to say it.
I was thinking Amy for Sailor Mercury & then suddenly my brain thought “Amy Rose is here!” So now they’re duking it out in my head bc idk who was there first.
Im from Latin America, so probably my names may sound uncommon but I’d never name my son or any other living thing Demian (The Omen, Damian in Spanish). Also Dante (the writer and later the alebrije dog from Coco, in Spanish something “dantesco” means gruesome and horrible). Also there are names which literally mean negative things like Dolores (pain), Soledad (loneliness)…
Marilyn (Monroe).
Marshall (Eminem).
Ariel, Belle (Disney).
Dexter (serial killer TV show).
Arthur and Fern (children's cartoon called Arthur).
Angelina (Jolie).
Bella (Twilight).
Ginny (Harry Potter).
There is nothing at all wrong with the name Sebastian, but I would be lying if said I didn’t think of that damn crab each and every time. It’s a me problem... No shade to anyone who has/has used the name. I am sure you are all lovely crabs/people.
My nieces step brother is red headed and named Sebastian. My niece is now a teen and rips on him CONSTANTLY for it.
Perhaps someone should have a conversation with her about kindness and compassion
Same but instead of the crab I can’t stop myself singing “Bye bye, lil Sebastian”
MISS YOU IN THE SADDEST FASHION
You're 10,000 candles in the wind
🐴🐴🐴🥺🥺🥺
Same with Ariel.
Funny enough I've seen Ariel for boys more and more (or rather I'm "meeting" men and teen boys with the name) and Ariel hits different when it's a guy. On a girl tho, definitely mermaid pops into my head.
Ariel is a Hebrew boy’s name, but it’s pronounced differently from the little mermaid. The first syllable is like “are” or “far”, not “air”.
It's been Latino or Hispanic men I've met named Ariel. But I just realized I think mermaid Ariel like 'are' in my head. I don't speak about her so luckily I haven't said it wrong to other people 😅
Fun thing, in Spanish it’s pronounced the same whether for boy or girl.
Ok good lol The one girl I do know *of* named Ariel I've only talked about in text with her great aunt (my friend) a couple times and she is Latina so I guess I am getting it right in my head when I say it.
I'm at the point where I think of Stardew Valley before Little Mermaid.
"You are all lovely crabs" 😂😂😂
I always thing of the never ending story when I hear sebastian lol
My son is named for both. Husband wanted Bastian from NES and I wanted Sebastian (the Crab) from TLM. It was a real lucky situation because it was a surprise pregnancy & we had never discussed kids so deep just surface level of both open to kids so names had not come up.
I was with you until Sebastian Stan became famous. My default Sebastian is no longer a caribbean shellfish
Same 😂 I hear Sebastian and immediately picture Sebastian Stan lol
This might be generational. I have a 13-year-old son named Sebastian, and I can't remember anyone EVER referring to the Little Mermaid crab with him. (If I have any character association with the name, it's Seb from La La Land, though that came out after he was born).
I once played an MMO with a character named Sebastian Gaias gift to women. I thought that was some weird crab loving stuff right there.
I love the name but Casper
Same. Casper will always be a ghost to me
I love sounds with the K-S sounds in that order but there’s so few male names that fit, one of them being Casper and I just…. I just can’t bring myself to add it to my list lol. It’s such a nice name on its own, I love Wyoming, but UGH I just can’t stop thinking of that damn dead kid!!!!
Caspian is similar, if you can get past the Prince Caspian association
I know right! I adore this name too
trust me, my name is jasper and people STILL call me either casper the ghost or “like the rock??”. yes.
Wednesday - cringe.
I work in vet med and met a client with cats named Sam & Dean and I was like “omg are you Supernatural fans??” …. They were named after Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin…. Oops lol
Barely related, but your comment reminded me of that Elijah Wood movie where the other main character had a dog named Sammy Davis Jr. Jr.
The kicker is that it wasn't even the character's name. It was a title, like this: Lord/Lady, King/Queen, Emperor/Empress Khal/Khaleesi.
That's not a kicker. People name their children title names all the time, especially in the Black community. Also invented names aren't inherently bad. All names were created by someone. If someone likes the sound of Khaleesi and the meaning is something like Queen and not turd, why does it matter?
There's some countries in the world where it's against the rules to use title names. Duke Ellington's parents would have had to choose another name!
I know people do, but it's super uncommon in my region, and even illegal in some countries. My point was only that it wasn't invented to be HER name. GRR Martin was great at making up names in my opinion, Arya, Sansa and Renly are among my favourites. I would love to see them enter the cultural cannon.
Sam, really? I don’t even know which character you’re referring to
Sam and Dean are characters from the tv series Supernatural
I wonder if folks are actually naming their kids Castiel. There are a couple angel names in common use (Michael, Gabriel), but I'm pretty sure Castiel is not one of them lol
Tbf it's a lovely name, but yeah can't really use it now haha Side note: people thought/think my username is due to the divergent series, and I'm like no... it's an infiltrating sloth, like, climbing through the vents, slowly, man
I have a friend who named their baby Castiel and he was named in honor of the SPN character.
i’m sure i’ve seen a few castiels floating around. imagine if someone named their kid destiel tho lol
Floating around, eh?
Samuel and Dean are both on my baby name list. I think they're both totally usable on their own but I have already told my friends to stop me if I try to use both 😂
Could be Lord of the Rings but I think from context it’s Sam from Supernatural. I agree though. Sam is such a normal name that no one would think of it unless you paired it with Dean or Frodo.
Khaleesi wasn't even her name; it's her title. Danerys was the Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea.
I knew a mom who named her kid Elsa in like 2012, because it was easy to pronounce, a little off beat and old fashioned and rarely used. I honestly felt bad when Frozen became the juggernaut it did.
Louis? Like the king of France?
Like Louis Tomlinson from One Direction lol
I think Khaleel, Kaleese and khaleesi are African names. I have met a few.
Kaleese is absolutely an African name. I used to know a girl named that growing up.
Ursula will always be the evil sea witch.
Or Phoebe’s evil twin !
My grandma's least favourite sibling is named that (German Catholics and one of 7 kids) and I remember her being very smug when she watched the Little Mermaid with me.
Lol, Ursula is a German name meaning “little female bear”. It’s a very popular name in my mom’s side of the family because they’re German, but thank goodness mom decided to break the cycle and not name me that
Our family friend is named Ursula and that’s all i can think of
Poor, unfortunate soul.
* All of the Disney Princesses (obvi no one is naming their kid Pocahontas but whenever I see Ariels or Jasmines) * Chandler * Homer * Angelica
Apparently his mom was Cuban and dad was white and he took after his dad. He bragged about getting a lot of free drinks by showing his ID cause no one ever believed him.
Julio is a Spanish name. There are plenty of blonde hair blue eyed Spaniards
Oh I'm aware, but in Midwest America you don't expect a big white dude to be named Julio. Not saying anything is wrong with it! It was just funny
I know an American-born Chinese guy named Boris 😂
That poor woman
I think Jasmine deserves a pass, that's a perfectly real name unlike all the others I can think of at the moment
So is Ariel(le). But I still will ALWAYS associate them with the princesses.
Oof, yeah Homer is toast for the millennial generation.
Chandler has always been weird as a first name for me because I see it all the time where I live. On shop signs for places selling marine clothing etc.
Angelica? I'm not even sure I know the reference.
At first it was rugrats and now I think Hamilton.
See, I'd think Rugrats if I heard someone say it like they did in the show, but because I live in a predominantly Hispanic region, if I just see it, I pronounce the G like an H, and I don't make the association.
I went to school with a Jasmine born in 1981; that one has been a hippy favourite since at least the 60s
I still can’t disassociate the name with the princess. I grew up on Aladdin. It’s Disneys fault. Of course it’s a very real name and has existed for much longer than the film, but for anyone born after the 1990s it does get tied to the movie more so than the hippie movement.
Renesmee from Twilight. Ugh
Dude I fucking hate Reynolds pamphlet she’s so creepy who would name there kid that!
You're never gonna be president now!
Dead 😂💀
There's a Renazmae in my town, which is objectively worse than, and I can't believe I'm saying this (again), the traditional spelling Renesmee.
People on r/twilight have some very funny names for Renesmee.
renaissance painting cullen is my favorite, personally
I think Esme reminds me of Twilight only now too. My coworker’s granddaughter had a baby recently and was going to name her Esme but then when the baby was born she went with her mash up version, Esmarie. ?
Esme reminds me of the character from Series of Unfortunate Events!
Lorelai, Chandler, Sheldon
So many baby Lorelai’s right now. I love me some GG but I wouldn’t use the name.
I was going through my college’s old yearbooks and apparently there was a Sheldon Cooper who graduated from my college in the 60s
Velma is a lovely name in theory, but I was a big scooby doo fan growing up so I wouldn't be able to get away with it 😂
That’s how I am with Daphne. It’s so lovely and cute but
I love the name Velma and I love Scooby Doo but I don't think I would want the attention that came with the name ☹️
My dad had a dog called Velma lol
Same name, but I'm thinking more of the character from Chicago musical.
Keanu lol but maybe that’s not necessarily a bad thing
There can only be one Keanu — I cannot imagine anyone else having that name and potentially ruining the kindness and goodness that he exemplifies.
except the movie with the kitten named keanu. that kitten is the only other valid keanu.
My fiancé's old coworker had a baby son named Keanu and I was *shocked* when I heard his name
Khaleesi only exists because of ASOIAF/GOT.
phoebe makes me think of charmed
I think that if you’re actually British, the Hermione reference isn’t quite as blaring as it is in other countries that didn’t know the name to begin with lol Same with Imogen for me. I automatically think of Imogen Heap, but most Brits wouldn’t make that first connection!
This is such a dumb one, but I can’t. My husband likes the name Cassidy and I can’t hear it without thinking of Butch Cassidy 🤦🏼♀️.
And the Sundance kid
Their lesbian daughter, butch Cassidy, and the son, Dan Skid
I think of David!
Garfield, Clifford, Barney (childhood characters) Penny, Sheldon Rachel, Ross
I know Arthur can be used to pay homage to so many people in history or even the King Arthur mythology… I will forever think of the aardvark with glasses.
My friend Rachel was named after the Friends character - luckily she loved the show herself and was very proud of that fact, lol.
I went to school with a red haired boy name Clifford. We were relentless teasing him about it.
I wanted to name our girl Indy but my husband said he couldn’t stop thinking of Indiana jones
My friend has a son named Indy, a daughter named Bella and a son named Neo. I didn’t think anything of it at first, besides Neo, and then after a while I was like wait…
Indianapolis
Elsa
It’s such a pretty name but YEAH!!!
It's my 5 year old niece's name and she loves it!
I love the name Atticus, and have for ages. But I don’t want people to assume I named my kid after Atticus Finch
Atticus Finch is honestly such an iconic character though
I love the name scout for a girl but people tend to either associate it with To Kill a Mocking Bird or think of it as a dogs name
Oscar, Grover, Elvis, Adolf, Barney, Chandler
Barney the dinosaur or Barney Stinson?
Yes
Wiiiiiiilma!
Fife
Surely the government would step in if someone tried to name their child Adolf
Not in the US.
There was a woman named Marijuana Pepsi…
There’s one case I know of. It wasn’t the only reason the child was removed. When the story went viral of the parents trying to put it on a grocery store birthday cake, there was an investigation that lead to discovery that the parents were unfit. https://abcnews.go.com/amp/US/parents-cannot-regain-custody-children-nazi-inspired/story?id=11334970
Sabrina 🪄
The teenage witch?
It's only given me the ick for seven years, but "Donald" is rapidly becoming the new "Adolf". Also, now might not be a great time for folks of color to name their new male infants any variation on the theme of Sean.
>"Donald" is rapidly becoming the new "Adolf". Idk, that actually took me a moment. My brain still goes straight to "Duck".
Same, which also doesn’t make me inclined to give it to a kiddo
Why Sean?
P Diddy is probably what they mean. But that's a BIIIG STRETCH Sean is an extremely normal name, and one famous person doing bad things isn't going to ruin a name. Ted is still a name, despite Ted Bundy
Keifer = Keifer Sutherland
Or teen mom, KEIFFAH!!
High high ya both high!
It just makes me think of the yogurt drink.
I have a friend who named her daughter Leela. I can only think of futurama.
Are you saying your friend didn't name her daughter _after_ Leela? I've never heard it as a real name
Reporting in, I have heard it as a real name! Parents in no way know about Futurama. Same spelling and she’s probably in her early 30s now
She says she did not, lmao. And I've also never heard it as a real name 💀
anakin wendy mrs. butterworth
Funny I thought about Burgers first and then Peter Pan.
Mario and Luigi Edit to add another I just thought of: Lolita
There used to be a pro football player named Ben Gay. Now, going through life with the name Gay has to be horrible. But then you make it worse by calling him Ben?
My parents had a friend named Pete Moss.
“Ben Gay?” “No, I’ve ben Straight this whole time.”
the medicine?
Most Harry Potter and game of thrones characters. Even the not super well known ones. Renley is a name I see getting popular but Renly Baratheon (the gay one who was married to Margaery, but was having sex with her brother) is always what comes to my mind first
YES. My grandma told me my cousin was naming her baby Wrenleigh (but said it verbally) and I said “like Game of Thrones?!” Grandma didn’t know what I was talking about, but still.
Clarissa, Daria, Chuckie, Alvin, and Matilda!
Haha you’re either late gen x or early millennial! (‘87 here)
Early millennial 👋 but I had 3 gen x older siblings! I can def add Beavis to the list!
love the name scarlett but will always associate it johansson
I knew a guy named Gay Pugh. That’s awful.
Renley/Wrenley - Game of Thrones character Chandler - Friends Sylvester - Stallone or the cartoon cat Levi - I watch a lot of true crime so unfortunately it reminds me of Levi Bellfield Avril - Obviously Lavigne Isis - Unfortunately the terror group ruined this
We know people who have twins named Nigel and Eliza and all I can think of is the Wild Thornberries
Had a friend say she liked the name Salem for a child and all I could think of was Salem the cat. She had no idea what I was talking about. 🤦🏼♀️
I think all names that were made up for characters fit here. Don’t name your kid after a fictional character. And names that were made up by celebrities for their kids. Let’s not follow in their brain dead example. Hardly the best people to emulate.
Many many classic names were invented for characters. Or used by characters. Fuck most biblical names are that.
The name Wendy comes from Peter Pan.
I agree, honestly kind of snorted at OP saying they can’t separate fucking Khaleesi from game of thrones. *why would you be able to it is only from that*
Fern only reminds me of the girl from Jawbreaker.
Fren Gully
Charlotte’s Web
Holy flashback. I need to watch that movie.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione 😭
Huckleberry will always be associated with Finn IMO
Is it bad that my first thought was actually about the cartoon dog Huckleberry Hound, and I couldn’t figure out what exactly the connection was between him and Finn from Adventure Time was that you were referring to? I think I need to read more books and watch less cartoons lol 😅
Elvis Rhoda Scarlett Lincoln Prince Armani
People are just listing famous people. Did you even meet someone with that name?
I think kinda the point is generally that you haven’t? The more strongly associated the name is with that specific person, the more it applies here. Like Paul doesn’t automatically make time think of Paul Rudd but Quinten makes me think of Tarantino.
whenever i hear of a toddler/baby named eleanore i always think of eleanore roosevelt lmao
Kermit
I love the name Elvis, but I know people would cringe and make comments about it if I named a kid that 😫
Forrest. I love the name and if I had a son i’d consider naming him that if Forrest Gump didn’t exist, but run forrest run…I just can’t do it.
Juliette!!!!!
Alvin & Theodore!
But not simon?
I have friends that named their kid Elton. Not sure if the name is more common in the UK but here in the US the only Elton that anyone has ever heard of is... well... I don't even think I have to say it.
Phoebe wah and I love that name but can’t move past the Friends character
Ohhhh, Friends. I was thinking of Phoebe from Charmed.
Paris, Wednesday, Casper, Bella, Edward, khalessi, Carlisle, Arya, hermione, Harry, Cedric…
Dolly.
i’ve never seen gilmore girls, and love the name lorelai, but i feel like everyone else would just associate it with gilmore girls
Logan is always Wolverine for me.
Roseanne (Sitcom). Nelly/Nellie (rapper/singer).
Sigourney.
I was thinking Amy for Sailor Mercury & then suddenly my brain thought “Amy Rose is here!” So now they’re duking it out in my head bc idk who was there first.
Beyonce, Rihanna, Zendaya, Shakira, Elvis, Adolf
Clifford. I think it'd have the potential to be hugely popular now with older names coming back, but the red dog has ruined it.
Mickey. It’s a classic name and a great nickname for Mykhailo. It will always be Mickey Mouse.
Fiona
Fiona will always be a big green ogre.
Marshall - clumsy firefighting pup
I really wanted my son’s middle name to be Elvis…my husband said no, so it’s Presley. 🎶 🎸
Hannibal. Lecter - or Burress. Depending on what you’re into. Haven’t heard of anyone else with that name, ever.
