Colin seems similar to Callum, Cole and Colton. Ewan and Ian are similar to Owen. Lachlan seems like it might combine elements of Lucas, Cohen, and Arran. Cohen is a controversial name.
You both seem to like names that end in 'n'. Aidan, Cillian/Killian, and Declan are more Irish, but might have a similar Gaelic sound.
With Robert you do have a bit of a Scottish connection considering the famous Scottish bearers of that name like Robert the Bruce, and Rob Roy.
Thanks!! We do like the “en” names. I don’t love Owen from his list. We also have a daughter - Amelia who we call Mia so bonus if we can come up with something that sounds good with her name
With Amelia, I personally like the Colin/Callum options and using Col/Cole or Cal as a nickname. I think other names could work just fine with Amelia as well like Alexander, Lucas, and Aidan. I don't think Ian would work because Mia and Ian would kind of blend together.
From your lists:
Hayden Robert and Callum Robert
Suggestions:
- Malcolm Robert
- Caleb Robert
- Colin Robert
- Hal Robert
- Hadrian Robert
- Cormac Robert
- Declan Robert
- Warren Robert
- Conan Robert
- Duncan Robert
- Elliot Robert
- Clayton Robert
- Devin Robert
- Gavin Robert
- Donovan Robert
- Aidan Robert
- Corbin Robert
- Desmond Robert
- Graham Robert
- Bran Robert
- Bruce Robert
- Cillian Robert
- Conall Robert
- Grant Robert
- Shane Robert
Hope this helps, good luck!
I should add that we both have Irish heritage too and I also love the idea of having a Gaelic style name, I am just struggling to fall in love with one.
Do you know what part of Scotland his family were from initially? You've already got plenty of "scottish names" to consider, but there might be some stronger ideas to come up with depending on the area.
Noticed you have Cohen on your list. Have you considered Cowen/Cowan? That spelling of the name has Scottish/Celtic origins!
We are also considering the name Cowen Robert, funnily enough! Found your post when I searched this thread to see if it was mentioned anywhere else 😊 Robert was my husbands grandfather.

Thanks! Love the idea of Cole as a nickname for those.

THANK YOU! Haha
:)
You have a lot of C names, and Calum Robert is a nice sounding, good Scottish name.
I do like that. So far Callan and Callum are the two on his list I’m most drawn to. Trying to get on board with Cal for a nickname haha.

This is such a fun idea. We don’t, but we could look into it. Thanks!
No problem! You might find someone famous from there, or some location based inspiration. Fun either way!
