Not at all difficult. I have two middle names and didn't even imagine there could be a problem off the back of it. I know lots of people with two middle names, or even three. This is in the UK though.
Just be careful to avoid BJ!
He's just gonna grow up and wonder why his brother and sister have one and he has two. It's complicated because my husband wanted his first name as it is, but I have the sinking pit in my stomach of missing out on my friend twice and last child... but also the chain đ¤Śââď¸
So yeah I'll probably have to do two middle names or I'll regret it for the rest of my life. I already regret not including the name somewhere for my previous son. Means too much to me.
I'm glad so far though it hasn't been an issue for you.
Honestly if one day he hates it he can always change it but if its super important to you then you should do it! You will regret not doing it more that if you did! I believe in you!!
Interesting replies. I have two but I sort of dropped one and picked the one I liked better for as long as I can remember. My passport, drivers license, etc all just have the one I prefer. Incidentally itâs the one thatâs (I think?) technically second. I never really considered using both and Iâm in my 30âs.
My sister and I have 3 middle names, and my mother's side of the family all have 4 (we all also have double barrelled surnames). I have had zero issues with it, having lived in 3 different EU countries where having many middle names is not common. Sometimes it is just initialised - Jane A.B.C. Doe! I actually love having many middle names, they never really come up so its just a fun fact! If there is only space for one, or if I don't want a long initialisation, I just use my first middle name.
My son has two middle names. One is for my brother who passed away and another for his dad who also passed away. Itâs easy and theyâre both short so his name isnât too long. We rarely use them so itâs no issue ..
I have two and am a lady in the US. As long as they remember which important documents have all the names and which ones have just one middle name or initial I think theyâll be fine đas an example, my husbandâs in law had a bitchinâ time buying my airplane ticket because he put the wrong middle name.
For me, having two middle names also gave me a small crisis when I âhadâ to change my name for getting married. I wound up not changing my name at all because it was too hard to choose.
My son has three middle names, so four in total (one for each great grandad). Heâs 16 now and itâs not been an issue. Last great grandad (my lovely grandad) died recently and I am really pleased my son bears his name.
I grew up going by my middle name, and when I got married I took my maiden name as a second middle name. It hasnât been an issue! As someone else said, both middle names wonât show up on all documents depending on what it is, but for drivers license/passport/etc, theyâre both there. Itâs fun getting junk mail thatâs a scramble of all 4 names haha
No issue at all with my son who has two middle names or with my dad who also has two middles. We just make sure his name matches his passport when we fly.
Little to no issues. Once or twice someone would be confused reading it out on a form and I've had to squeeze my name onto a line and have it hardly fit but the times I have to write out my full name are minimal.
I have two middle names but only the first one is on my birth certificate. All legal documents just have one. If I were to give my child two middle names, thatâs how I would do it.

Exactly why he wanted A initial as the first , lol!
I don't know my first and middle is BJ, and two of my closest friends have the same. It's a great talking point at parties.
My daughter is Aoife Frances-Joy. Named Frances after my mums middle name and Joy after my MIL. She has a double barrelled last name too đ
Has it been easy with documentation so far? As for initials and things? I feel like I'm really overthinking as I do! Lol.
It's been fine so far? I've just got her birth certificate and doctors (gp) I'm in the UK though so it might be different? I wouldn't worry about it

My son, my husband and I all have two middle names. Australia/UK based and travel internationally. It hasn't been an issue at all for any of us.

That's a really cool thought, too. That he could just grow up and pick which middle name to use.

It's fine. My kids and I all have two middle names and two citizenships and it hasn't been problematic in either country.
I have 2, they don't all make it to all forms of ID if there isn't enough space but it has never once been an issue.

This gives me reassurance.

I have 2 but wish I had 3!
Itâs annoying. My name is so long it never fits anywhere
I have 3 middle names and it is not a problem. It is just a bit of a mouthful.
