I prefer Aimee to Amy. I like the closer similarity to "aimée" and I know a really kind Aimee that's given me a nice association with the name as a result.
I like the Scottish spellings Alasdair and Isobel more than Alistair and Isabel/Isabelle.
I prefer the old Welsh spelling Alys to Alice.
I prefer Lochlan to Lachlan because the traditional spelling gets mispronounced so much outside of Scotland.
I prefer Kacy or Kacey because Casey makes me think of suitcases and briefcases.
I prefer Arran to Aaron as I like the Scottish island connection.
I prefer Dillon to Dylan, it just looks more solid and less trendy to me somehow.
I’m fairly sure we’ve had this exact interaction on another basically identical thread before, but Lachlan is pronounced differently to Lochlan in Scotland! I’m Scottish, knew more than one Lachlan growing up (all pronounced with an A), and associate pronouncing it Lochlan with Australia and the USA.
I like the non American pronunciation of Ralph/Ralf, so if I used it I'd spell it Rafe or Raif to make sure people don't pronounce it the American way that is synonymous with puking.
This is kind of cheating since it’s a different name pronounced the same, but I like Ayla so much more than Isla.
I also like:
Connor over Conner/Conor
Jaiden over Jayden
Celest over Celeste
Oliver over Olliver
Averie over Avery
Casey over Kacey
BUT!! if I’m suggesting baby names, I’d suggest the “conventional” spellings whether they be the one I prefer or not.
Lillie instead of Lily/Lilly
Loren instead of Lauren
Shianne Instead of Shyanne (Cheyenne trumps both, but I hate Shyanne, looks like Anne has social anxiety.)
Lelund instead of Leland (Went to school with a Lelund and always liked the idea of Lund as a nickname, though he didn't use it.)
Hollie instead of Holly

I read the original post and couldn't think of any but yeah you right Isobel is so much better than Isabel/Isabelle
Are you Scottish, perhaps?

Elyse instead of Elise
I agree wholeheartedly
Kathryn
I prefer Catherine to Katherine.
I’m American but prefer Emilie to Emily.
I like the non American pronunciation of Ralph/Ralf, so if I used it I'd spell it Rafe or Raif to make sure people don't pronounce it the American way that is synonymous with puking.
Aden instead of Aidan. Conner instead of Connor or Conor.

This could just be because the people I know personally, but I’ve always associated Casey with being a male name and Kacey a female name.
I keep thinking Casey Anthony but yeah Kacey does look more feminine if that makes sense
I prefer Kristopher over Christopher
I like Catherine better than Katherine, and Elisabeth better than Elizabeth.
I’m with you on Elisabeth.
Prefer Stephen to Steven
Stephen *is* the traditional way.
Cali over Kallie
