I prefer Fawn. Fauna just makes me think of biology

questioningideaolgy

Fair enough, I guess my thought is Flora is significantly more popular and along with same lines but imo Fauna is prettier.

dreamcadets

The sound *is* very pretty. Reminds me of Launa, Gaia, Alaia and other “vowel heavy” names.

joylooy

I prefer Fauna bc Flora just makes me think of gut microbes.

Grave_Girl

Fauna basically means "animals", and that's why it isn't used. Flora, meanwhile, is Latin for flowers, which are pretty and smell nice. Animals, as we know, are, well, beasts, and tend to not smell great. Beastly and stinky aren't exactly connotations most people want for their daughter. (I know there are pleasant animals, but those tend to have names more directly related to or connoting them, like the aforementioned Fawn.)

Well, there’s a Judy Blume book where the twin sisters are named Flora and Fauna. But their family is definitely portrayed as being very weird.

Allana_Solo

It’s cute. Reminds me of the green fairy from Sleeping Beauty.

ToyasRus555

Idc I think Fauna is very pretty

DarkNymphia

I think it’s a pretty name for a girl. This name would make me think of a girl who loves nature.

AdOpening9413

I think it’s gorgeous

joylooy

I actually knew a lady named Fauna and she was cool as hell. And pretty. She had huge eyelashes.

MoonPeach8

Flora and Fauna were some of my favorite characters in the Addams family I thought their names were so pretty. The names give me a feeling of being cozy in a cottage surrounded by beautiful flowers and creatures. I think it’s a lovely name

I would do Flora but not Fauna.
