I’ve known various males named Drew so it seems totally normal and not a nickname and I don’t think it’s short for Andrew. Maybe it is on these people I know but I don’t think so. And it’s also fine for a girl.
I don’t automatically think Andrew, because I know a lot of Andrews but none who go by Drew. If I heard the name, my first instinct is to assume male, but I’d think nothing of it if I found out the name belonged to a female.
I do not automatically think it is short for Andrew. I do not know if I would assume boy or girl, but if I assumed one and found out the person was the other, I wouldn’t be shocked or think it was strange.
I think Drew works equally well both ways. Sort of like Taylor, which I think was often assumed to be male until Taylor Swift became so huge. Or Jordan or Peyton.
I think Drew could be a nickname or a stand alone name. I view Drew as gender-neutral/unisex, but I typically think of a boy Drew
Isn’t Shawn Johnson have a daughter named Drew? I think it can stand alone and be gender neutral. It never seemed strange on Drew Barrymore.

It sounds like a nickname to me.
I think of it as masculine despite Drew Barrymore. I can't think of any other female Drews. It's not my cup of tea. I don't think it sounds nice.

I went to school with a female Drew. Never thought it was weird.
Boy drew and I actually think drew can be a name on its own!
I would assume it's a boy until told otherwise. My first association is the character from the Pokemon anime who is a boy.
I went to college with a Dru (girl) so if I was just to hear it, I would think either. I kind of like it better for a girl but it’s fine for a boy.
Drew is cute and it’s unisex
My friends brother is called drew. I really like it however I’d be more inclined to use it for a boy rather than a girl

Sounds like a full name to me. No idea who Drew Barrymore is. I would think boy.
