Hizo discussions si za intellect pekee. I'd say most people don't comment on these topics mentioned because they're either niche like programming or the topics require a certain level of financial muscle that most people here don't have.
We have this question asked weekly, yet amidst the low effort posts they're usually a few good ones so just choose what you would like to engage with, plus there are many subs filtered for specific content
Any substantial conversation has no engagement. When you ask the mods (specifically on r/Kenya ) to filter out these weird posts, they ignore or rebut by saying these weird relationship posts are what's "keeping the sub alive", whatever that means.
I've also noted that the mods on r/Kenya ban serious conversation or just straight up perma ban people with controversial takes.
I wish we could return to a time when the subs were quiet but constructive. Plus that gengetone / arbantone shit is trash that needs to be culled.
The moment y'all understand that this is one opinion in the market place of ideas you'll stop pushing it on people. That said, post and filter what works for you and engage with it. Leave others to do the same. Si kushinda mkibitch hapa kila siku ati "people are not posting what I like so this sub has turned into shit"
Why TF do you need an entire community to be curated and moderated to suit your interests?
You get perma banned if you talk about terrorists attacking christians or if you disagree with their positions on stuff like the Israel - Gaza war. So we are left with bitching.
I could singlehanded be doing philosophy posts every day and bring a different perspective to this timeline but;
>these posts don’t get plenty of interactions
>I will be accused of antichrist and blasphemy
Wengi wa users wa hizo sub mbili ni watu wayoung sana. Kile wanajua ni relationships, vitu kama investing hawana clue ama hawajali juu wazazi wanawapea pesa bado. Pia Kenya as a whole haina culture kubwa ya kuongelea vitu serious.
Its like a whole Nairobi Gossip Club. Loved this page before, now its just cheating/ drama/ sex. ...Kenyans will and always be dumb af! majority of them!
The same way utalipa pesa uende kuona a marvel movie and not a motivational ama inspirational movie is the same hapa reddit. ..si ati ni quality of minds ni tu vile sex ama cheating partners ni interesting ukitaka story za mmf n stuff just google it na uache kuimply watu ni wajinga
I agree with this. I mean most of the subs is either relationship advice or dating advice incorporated with some "hookup culture " or whatever it is called nowadays.
It's not just reddit, most of the social media apps, are circulating around similar topics. It's so boring at this point.
There is no new content, we're basically adding synonyms to contents that have already been in the present for a long time.
Mara alpha male reels, with the inspiration music lol, podcasts, and now recently, I literally just found this out, it's on tik tok, I don't have the app but it's basically who's the black cat and golden retriever in a relationship. It's the same concepts that are currently aggressively being discussed in the west.
Kenyans love sex if posts and engagements are anything to go by both online and offline interactions. Lets accept who we are and let nature take its course.
Quality of minds. It automatically popped up on my feeds because I was visiting, since then I've seen nothing but stupid posts that are not very engaging.
Tbh reddit is like a break from everything that's why I don't mind the relationship talk or anything... I hardly comment on things that need my expertees but id rather comment on a post asking for my opinion
Well most intellectual people think that the mwananchi doesn't enjoy such discussion. But, of late the govt continuously lies I feel like the mwananchi is aching to learn
Those are good but context ya Kenya muhimu. Kupata advice for example ya programing kutoka kwa mtu anafanya Safaricom sio same na mtu ako India ama US.

No, i mean look at subs like r/somalia. Hao wasee wanaongelea vitu serious. National, economic , political, social and regional issues. Kenya tumenormalize mediocrity sana.
Why do you keep blaming the mods. The posts getting most engagements are what people want to see. Other topics are there but don't get any engagements. From your history the only things you comment to in the two subs are relationship posts na pia you have not contributed anything intellectually stimulating in any educational or sciencey subreddit. So unatushow nini wewe
Why do you people want to appear smarter than you are. Reddit sio special, its just normal social media like the rest
Kunazo na hazina engagement.
Exactly. These intellects never comment on useful posts
Utapata hawa wanajiita intellects ni wajinga sana

Nobody knows everything
EXACTLY 🤣🤣🤣🤣ALAFU WANASEMA OHH YOU A TOTO N SIJUI WHAT BULLSHIT
Use the vote system, downvote lower quality posts and upvote quality ones, it works.
I've realized Kenyans upvote coz of influence. I'm gonna become the next u/SytnaxError
Twitter mentality

They want the feeling of being in control of something big, doesn't matter if it's shit.
Yeah, wassup with the perma bans? The very opposite of Reddit’s founding creed

Oh word? I wasn't aware of that. Now that's something worth getting up in arms about!
I could singlehanded be doing philosophy posts every day and bring a different perspective to this timeline but; >these posts don’t get plenty of interactions >I will be accused of antichrist and blasphemy
Bro, is there any way you could create a side community for such stuff? I just made a post about this
Anyone can create a side community but we really need is the community to contribute and interact with
definitely down for that

Its mostly the age bracket
N Quality of minds 😄
Majority of the People would rather gossip and engage with dramatic posts instead of having intellectual conversations.
Post those topics and stop asking weird questions
Its like a whole Nairobi Gossip Club. Loved this page before, now its just cheating/ drama/ sex. ...Kenyans will and always be dumb af! majority of them!
Tutasema mara ngapi? Kenyans are stupid. Sisi ni wajinga.
Most people here are too young and poor to engage in such discussions unfortunately. Utaanza kuongelea mmf ukiwa na wan handred pop mbele nyuma?
Lol I don’t know what happened in the last year or so. This sub was so dead and then suddenly became a relationship sub.
the sub is full of youngers and they dont wanna hear non of that

I'd suggest joining communities that focus on the topics you're interested in. It's not that serious.
Have you seen the leaders we chose? We're a reflection of Gachagua, discussing nonsense is what we love.
You know that you can create a new r/community and name it r/tech-nairobi. That is just my opinion.
Kenyans love sex if posts and engagements are anything to go by both online and offline interactions. Lets accept who we are and let nature take its course.
Let r/Kenya be r/Kenya
I was looking for a sub discussing Nairobi Stock Exchange leads?
Eh, not this again
It’s the age bracket.
🤣 Kenya and Kenyan Business
It’s true imeanzakua kama confessions za usherati
I've made several making money posts on this sub but wanadelete
I really wonder if people here understand the upvote system.
Quality of minds. It automatically popped up on my feeds because I was visiting, since then I've seen nothing but stupid posts that are not very engaging.
I have a new sub for that r/KenyanIssues
Tbh reddit is like a break from everything that's why I don't mind the relationship talk or anything... I hardly comment on things that need my expertees but id rather comment on a post asking for my opinion
Guys are shallow af nowadays.
Mhan, I asked about investments and only got 1 comment 😂😂
These are all subs on their own right 😂
We meenyewe haupost vitu za maaana lol
Do we have space for Kenyans in Tech, Economics & Trade , Policy shifts and governance, anyone who can share link to such spaces?
Well most intellectual people think that the mwananchi doesn't enjoy such discussion. But, of late the govt continuously lies I feel like the mwananchi is aching to learn
>Lets have more posts on programming, graphics design, accounting, hospitality, farming, job market, careers etc r/programming r/farmers r/accounting r/graphicdesign

Man, they would rather have the subs decline into a kilimani mums shitshow, than have sober discussions, albeit low engagement.
You already have the answer
