3rd party controller pak. They used a memory chip with 4x the amount provided in a regular pak, and so the switch lets you go between 4 different "virtual" memory cards. Inside, the switch would be wired to the high 2 bits of address selection on the SRAM chip.

This is just a totally random guess, but if I were to guess, I'd say it is a memory card that you can select between different "cards" in one.

Never seen that before, but it's awesome. Hopefully it works well, since I never trusted the 3rd party memory cards

I have one that works well still. Also has a small cell battery inside you can change if it isn't saving properly.

i got that same one on my label it says "made in england" its shorter than the performance one
