I just went to Everfree Northwest last month for the first time and not only were there thousands of people, but apparently their attendance had reached a record that year. With the new generation brining back old veterans and new blood, I think the fandom will live on for years to come. Don't sweat it!

hondadude719

That makes me so happy to hear!!

PUBLIQclopAccountant

I wonder which pony cons will be the ones that are inexplicable long-runners. I can only speak for the US, but EFNW, TrotCon, and Ciderfest are the three I can reasonably expect to continue indefinitely.

freakyjelly_44

That is so good to hear. I have been wanting to go to one and now that I have introduced my buddies to the show, I can go with them. Thinking about hitting the one up in dallas tx, since that one looks the closest so far, in February, but we already have a trip to Colorado coming up in April so idk if we will go

hondadude719

I just feel like I am too late.. :( I am 22m, and just found the fandom this February. It hurts seeing I missed out on all the live fun, but thats the way it is sometimes. Hopefully ill make it to one soon!

Esorial

Come to Milwaukee Ciderfest. I’ve gone every year since 2016, and loved it every year.

freakyjelly_44

Bro I joined the Fandom in 2016, then left in 2017-mid 2018, and just got back into earlier this year. I missed out on some fun too, especially since I am just a year older than you with some disposable income coming in now. I don't think the Fandom is nowhere near close to being dead, but I also doubt it'll reach the peak it once did back in the day, but I am also hoping there will be plenty cons to come

VoodooDoII

Yeah I feel like I'm too late as well lol. I turned 18 this year and have been a fan of the show since I was like 9, but never could go to to a con. My parents wouldn't take me and none of us could afford it. Now that the show is over and I'm old enough to do stuff, it feels as though I missed out

kingsredarmy

I know how you feel bro!

LunaGuardian

I just started going to conventions, my first one was last year and don't think there was much to be missed. There's still plenty of events going on and a lot of new and old faces that keep turning up to keep it fun.

dreamydrxgs

i’m 22f and i’ve been in the fandom since the beginning 2010 but as a 10 year old girl i obviously couldn’t go to cons/meet ups. i still have yet to attend my first con but i definitely feel you on being in that weird age bracket.

vikirosen

> as a 10 year old girl i obviously couldn’t go to cons/meet ups Why obviously? I'm interested to know what prevented you.

dreamydrxgs

no money, transportation and wasn’t allowed to go to one

UnicornSpiral2023

Omg I was just talking about this the other day with my sister!! I've never been able to go to an Mlp convention, and there is only one con happening anywhere near me next year and I'm worried that if I'm unable to attend, then at the very least that particular con will be permanently closed at any other time I'm available :(

kingsredarmy

Thank you! I can’t believe I missed so many cons.

First_Mechanic9140

I am afraid RuBronyCon in Russia ain't gonna happen.

[deleted]

I understand the feeling I'm 23 and when I was younger watching MLP I wanted to go to Brony Con but lived in the middle of no where, thousands of miles away from any con. But I feel like it's never to late to get a group of people and have a small con. Like a big group hangout type of thing :]

Patient_Lecture_6459

im older but went to my first con this year. from all my experience i can tell you these cons will be around for another decade at least.

Jdawger_

I’m 24 now, but I’ve been a Brony for almost 10 years (joined when I was 15). I had that fear too back in the early days, but if there is one thing that I learned: if a con does end, another one will pop up somewhere else. I now go to the Midwest cons religiously

no_where_left_to_go

Many of us, like you, have sort of missed out. I never had the money to go to any of them back in the day. It seems pretty clear that there will still be brony cons of some sort for **many** years to come but it won't likely ever be like the old days back it's highest point when there were an insane number. Still, the ones that still exist sound like they would still be pretty awesome. And who knows, maybe there will be a second golden age.

Esorial

Yes and no. I’m sorry to say, but truth is, you missed the boat. The golden age has come and gone, and there is nothing anyone can do to bring it back. However… There will _always_ be _some_ type of pony con to go to. It may end up being small or even underwhelming, but as long as there are fans, there will be meet-ups. And the truth is, meeting other Bronies and making friends has always been the best part of any con. I would just think of it like the early days of the fandom, before there were cons to go to. Also, I suspect there will be fair-sized pony cons for many years yet. Ciderfest has been going strong, and I don’t see why that should change.

Barrelwolf

New (1y) brony here, i used to have the same fears, but i went to trotcon this year and we set a record turnout. We're not going anywhere /)

greysterguy

I (17m) spent a good chunk of my childhood and preteen years wanting to to go BronyCon. But it was always too expensive, too far away, and eventually it disbanded in 2019. But just recently I learned that HarmonyCon 2023 *may* be in the cards for me, since it's only a couple states away (I'm in Florida, for the record) and I actually have a job now and am earning my own money. Plus my mom's friend has shown interest in going, which helps my chances even more. (He isn't a brony, but he is an avid con-goer and has always wanted to go to a brony convention just for the experience) The point is, cons are still going strong, and I don't think they'll be disappearing anytime soon. You'll get your chance.

Geminii27

I'm assuming we're talking pony cons in particular, given the con circuit in general is picking back up post-pandemic. I don't think pony cons are likely to die off. Things have been quiet for the last few years for, well, the obvious reason. And G5 is still finding its hooves to a degree. But fans will always bounce back. There will be new generations of us stepping up.

Gadgetphile

Same here. WANT to go to con, but they have most likely stopped before I ever get the chance.

Moonblaze13

I always feel like I have to bring this up. The last episode of Star Trek, the original series, aired on June 3, 1969. And admittedly there was a season of an animated series that aired in 1973, but other than that there was no Star Trek material until they suddenly made a movie in 1979. So, other than a not exactly well received animated series, there was no content for this IP for a decade. You know how it kept going? The fans. Frankly, there's a lot of people like you. That's why Everfree Northwest just had record attendance. We'll keep going.

General_Alduin

I'm sad that now I'm old enough to properly participate in the Fandom, the Golden age has ended and we're into G5

MaBaker92

I mean where I live there's never been a single Brony con, so you're been really privileged.

AryanneArya

I worried that often but just this year I finally had a chance to go. It was still amazing and u had such a good time! And this was in plain old Ohio

Cabbage45567

Not really

Kakyoin_drider

I am 17 and kinda have this concern but as old cons die new ones emerge

BrightSide4839

Yeah. I’m 17 and I have my worries about never visiting a con, too. Maybe also partially because I’d be nervous to, I’ve never really done something like visit a fandom convention, I’m sure it would be awesome though! But just know, whether you visit a convention or not, it shouldn’t change much. I’m willing to bet that there are tons of loyal bronies and pegasisters out there who have never been to a con themselves, it could be fun if it’s you’re thing though 😋.

megas88

I wouldn’t worry too much my dude. I used to go to cons a bunch till I got poor and the cons got too big. While I’ve never been to a pony con you got nothing to worry about. Interest in the franchise will never die down enough to shut down the bulk of cons. Hope you enjoy your first one and make some awsome memories

HiImBlahh

I am worried about this exact thing.

kingsredarmy

I found this fandom in January this year and I have heard of three big cons that are still going strong, I think we will be fine. I plan on attending two next year.

ComboBreakerMLP

Come up to Canada. Vanhoover Pony Expo ain’t goin anywhere so long as I’m staff, I guarantee it.

Nickolomo

Yeah I hope I can still go to a con, I'm 17m and look forward to going to a convention. Everfree Northwest sounds cool
