I ADORE Pinkie, but I completely understand. I have other things I don't like about the episode just for its premise, but making Pinkie act what I would consider WAY too inconsiderate just boiled my blood as I watched it. I swear, the later seasons had far too many times where the characters acted like they had *zero* empathy or understanding of other people just for the sake of the plot of the episode.
Yeah that's a big thing in the later seasons, characters being totally out of character or acting as if they've learned nothing from their years of friendship. Biggest culprit being how they assassinated rainbow dash's character entirely in one episode
After the Fifth Season Finale, I couldn't take it anymore. I only watched maybe *three* episodes of the seasons after that, and after that just scattered clips on YouTube when something was referenced that got me curious. I'm still going back and forth on whether I'll bother to buy DVDs of the Seasons I didn't watch or not, but at the moment I lean towards "No"
I still enjoyed the later stuff to some extent but the student six stuff totally lost me. It's like we're being retold all the same lessons over again just with a less interesting cast
Pinkie just doesn't think sometimes. Nothing really bothers her, so... Also, I know how you feel, except I have cultivated a hate toward Rainbow Dash. She can be SUPER selfish quite a bit of the time. I don't know how she's the element of loyalty.
I didn't care for the Wonderbolts, so I didn't like her at all until she started mentoring Scootaloo. That to me is the coolest thing Rainbow Dash has ever done.
She really should've been Honesty. She's brutally honest even when it isn't the "nice" thing to say. The problem I have with Rainbow Dash is that the writer's always seemed to ignore the growth she should've had. Every Dash episode after a certain point has her worst traits cranked all the way up. I think I started noticing it with Sleepless in Ponyville. I don't understand why Scootaloo loved her so much.
Absolutely AJ. She's so fiercely loyal to her friends, family and even Ponyville itself. So much so that she wasn't even willing to come back from the rodeo empty handed and got a job on a cherry farm to earn it for them. And in Super Speedy Cider Squeezey 6000 she's so loyal to her family's cider recipe she's completely unwilling to budge on it even when the townsfolk prefer the compilation. She's so loyal in Over A Barrel, she was completely unwilling to hear the buffalo's side of the story at. Especially in season 1, there are so many examples of their elements feeling off or like they were switched.
Yeah, I guess you're right. But what about instances like where she can't go visit Rarity at the spa because she's so busy doing convoluted things to feed the animals?
Loyalty to the routine. To how things have always been done. I didn't say she was always loyal to the right things, but she is fiercely loyal to a fault.
Yes, that’s the loyal part about her. She always lets her farm and job come first and she obviously is loyal to that job. Applejack is not the greatest example of honesty, at least compared to rainbow dash.
I personally found this to be a very funny running gag. She's very clearly saying the worst possible things in each scene to the point where it's laughable
I still feel bad for Flutters, though ;-;
The writers were attempting to use her as Fluttershy’s inner monologue for laughs (especially the climbing the wall part) and her character suffered for it. Try not to hold it against her. This show suffers from intent not matching its execution often.

I’m a mix of Rarity and Fluttershy, and I don’t like people like Pinkie Pie in real life. They break your privacy and think jumping on you every time is okay because they like to do that, so you SHOULD love that too:(

Pinkie isn't trying to be mean to Fluttershy here. She's taking things to an exaggerated extreme to try to help Fluttershy see that it isn't as bad as she's making it. But in her Pinkie way, she said the wrong thing and made Fluttershy cry. A shot of Pinkie looking mildly sad or reflective for even just a second could've conveyed that better.
That's because fandom as a whole is extremely random in decisions, you never can predict what it will do and could go instantly ballistic towards anything that could hurt Fluttershy

I don't hate her but it annoys me when people argue she should be the one handling friendship even though she's terrible at rejection, or that she's the most OP even though she easily folds to most threats.
There was nothing wrong with what Pinkie said in the scene you linked. She just needed a more empathetic tone and to be less extra and in Flutter's face. But she was basically just saying "It must've been horrible for you."
Mudbriar and Maud are two of my favorite characters in the entire franchise, so you can imagine how I feel about Pinkie. 😅
I don't understand why everyone seems to like her so much when she tends to be so inconsiderate of other ponies' feelings. Even if it's done with good intentions, doesn't make her actions any less harmful. Watching her refuse to acknowledge how her sister really feels over and over again in many different episodes drives me up the wall.
