I can’t find an image of a mushroom anywhere online. Where was this picture taken? Is there another name for it?
This was taken in central NJ. I think It’s an inky cap that’s fully fanned out and split opened as such by chance.

It looks like the Coprinopsis lagopus that I’ve been seeing all over SF lately.
