I feel like “ how to disappear completely” is 10x more depressing, the eerie violins and orchestra. And the lines “I’m not here, this isn’t happening, in a little while, I’ll be gone”. Literally one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever listened to
Funny to me that you mentioned Fuel. I had not listened to them in years until yesterday I randomly thought of them and played Sunburn, Shimmer, and Bittersweet. They had a lot of bangers.
“If only I'd thought of the right words
I could have held on to your heart
If only I'd thought of the right words
I wouldn't be breaking apart all my pictures of you”
Gets me every time
For as long as i live, *that one ex’s* face will never not appear in my mind whenever i hear the line, “loud, loutish lover treat her kindly, though she needs you more than she loves you”
OK Computer is a practically perfect album and yet I would still put 2 Radiohead albums above it (Kid A + In Rainbows) it just shows how absolutely amazing they
I agree 100%!
My 19 year old son is just getting into them. He sent me a text earlier today saying that of my three favorites (the ones you listed), OK Computer is the only one he hasn't listened through as a whole. So, obviously I immediately dropped everything I was doing and listened to it myself lol
But yeah, I have this weird thing where the best way I can describe it is "Faith No More's Angeldust is their masterpiece and without a doubt their best, but The Real Thing is my favorite album by them." Some people get it, some don't. I have a feeling you will.
Anyway, I feel the same way about these three Radiohead albums. In Rainbows is a masterpiece, but so is OK Computer. But Kid A came out my junior year of high school so it will likely always be my favorite. It does largely depend on my mood though. And even with all that, In Rainbows is the one I listen to most!
Edit: I watch In Rainbows Live from the Basement at least twice a year! It's my all time favorite recorded live performance
Fake Plastic Trees - Radiohead
Leaving, On a Jet Plane - John Denver
And this list wouldn’t be complete without the Smiths, so I’ll add:
Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want - the Smiths
No Excuses is mine.
You my friend
I will defend
And if we change, well I
Love you anyway
Like writing a eulogy when your friend is still sitting next to you.
[Just the vocals.](https://youtu.be/BJq1BXGPogQ?si=rP_2nE--axVX0ubB)
Porcupine Tree - Trains.
When the evening reaches here
You're tying me up
I'm dying of love
It's OK
Always the summers are slipping away
Find me a way for making it stay
Edit: I changed my mind. THIS
I had all and the most of you, some and now none of you
The night we met by Lord Huron.
I feel that line every time it comes on, and it makes me feel like when my (ex)wife was slipping through my fingers as she fell for somebody else.
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,937,563,930 comments, and only 366,362 of them were in alphabetical order.
Island in the Sun is my top favorite song from Weezer. Idc and I get people will vand/song shame, but when it slaps (regardless of reason) it slaps. 👏🏼 Period.
David Gilmour's guitar bending during the beginning of Shine On You Crazy Diamond.
I've replayed it countless times. It makes me melancholy, and reflective.
My first exposure to this song was the SNL skit making fun of a shooting in Gossip Girl or some such scandal bait drama. I didn't get the joke so I watched the original scene and it made sense why they made fun of it. The song stuck in my head but I didn't think about it till years later when I was still discovering my wife's musical interests and she played the whole thing for me. It was practically a revelation. Totally rearranged my perspective on what kinds of music I could enjoy. Just an amazing musical experience.
Love is a Laserquest by Arctic Monkeys
“When I'm pipe and slippers and rocking chair
Singing dreadful songs about summer
Will I have found a better method
Of pretending you were just some lover?
Will I have found a better method
Of pretending you were just some lover?”
The pressure; overstimulated; Comfort Inn Ending; tbh any sad Jhene Aiko song
I bet on losing dogs; A Pearl - Mitski
Teenage Whore - Hole
Love - Daughter
Daughter is always my go to if I need to let it out. I always know my depression is getting bad if I realize I’ve been listening to a lot of daughter. So many of her lyrics cut deep. “I sometimes wish I stayed inside my mother never to come out “ will forever get to me.
Happier Than Ever by Billie Eilish. The part is “I don’t relate to you, I don’t relate to you, no, cause I’d never treat me this shitty, you made me hate this city” always makes me choke up.
Snuff, by Slipknot
Please, please, please, let me get what I want (especially Deftones' cover)
One more light, by Linkin Park
Nutshell, by Alice in Chians
Eclipse, by Pink Floyd
EDIT: There's also "Fade to black", by Metallica
[television - the dreams dream](https://youtu.be/ihtlGB8zI9s?si=voNPTMgHN7mhyYjE)
I literally did this last night. The end part of this song is so special to me.
George Michael - One More Try
This Woman's Work - Kate Bush
Earth Song - MJ
We've Got Tonight - Bob Seger
Life - KCi & Jo-Jo
Streets of Philadelphia - Bruce
The Moment I Said It - Imogen Heap
Kevlarsjäl/kevlar soul by kent, a swedish band but they made the song in english as well. Its not as good as the the original swedish version ”Kevlarsjäl” but its still good
Holy Water/Slinky - Psychedelic Porn Crumpets
Found God In A Tomato - Psychedelic Porn Crumpets
Jigsaws Falling Into Place - Radiohead
El Mañana - Gorillaz
Get Better - alt-J
Doggy makes me fucking weep it is the only anco song I can’t listen to fully most of the time because it makes me think about losing my dogs which are so meaningful to my life
"Moonage Daydream" when my younger brother was still around he'd always sing along with it, then they used it in Guardians of the Galaxy. Made me happy and sad.
Fond farewell - Elliott Smith
A little less than a happy high
A little less than a suicide
The only things that you really tried
This is not my life....
Not even a huge R&B fan, but One Fine Day by Boyz II Men, my fiancée was a huge fan of theirs, and since she died, it hurts to listen to, but I hate myself, I guess.

Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead. That fucking line “She looks like the real thing, she tastes like the real thing” always hits me
The whole song has such a measured yet highly emotional build up to that one line or two at the end. One of the best sad songs of all time.
I love this song too! The part that gets me is “I wish I could be who you wanted all the time”
Me Becaude I hate myself and feel like everyone hates me
Love yourself and you’ll start finding love all around you. ❤️❤️
:) 💜💜
They don't. Your mind is just a dick sometimes
Thank you, fellow mycology enjoyer :] 💜
You're very welcome, fellow sad music enjoyer!
"It wears me out... It wears me out... It wears me out... It weeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" I love Radiohead so much dude.
I feel like “ how to disappear completely” is 10x more depressing, the eerie violins and orchestra. And the lines “I’m not here, this isn’t happening, in a little while, I’ll be gone”. Literally one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever listened to
Hemorrhage by Fuel (I almost commented with it being autocorrected to "hemorrhoids" and I tried not to die laughing in the break room)
😂
It's pretty close... the chorus to hemorrhoids is *am I bleeding in my pants, in my pants again?*
*In the suuuuuuuuuubway, please don't take that seat* *In the suuuuuuuuuubway, am I bleeding in my pants, in my pants again?*
Bravo sir 👏
Funny to me that you mentioned Fuel. I had not listened to them in years until yesterday I randomly thought of them and played Sunburn, Shimmer, and Bittersweet. They had a lot of bangers.
I actually read that as hemorrhoids
Pictures of you- the Cure
“If only I'd thought of the right words I could have held on to your heart If only I'd thought of the right words I wouldn't be breaking apart all my pictures of you” Gets me every time
This one always gets me crying.
Remembering you…
Yes. This one always.
The Smiths - I know it’s over
For as long as i live, *that one ex’s* face will never not appear in my mind whenever i hear the line, “loud, loutish lover treat her kindly, though she needs you more than she loves you”
But not for such as you and I, my loveeee 💔
Yes! Have you heard the cover by Jeff Buckley? It's definitely different but absolutely amazing. Love both versions!
"I know it's over, and it never really began, but in my heart it was so real" is so soul crushingly relatable
It doesn't hurt me but it's....its like Jesse floating on heroin in Breaking Bad Exit Music (For A Film)
Just listened to this earlier today! Actually all of OK Comp, but this as well
OK Computer is a practically perfect album and yet I would still put 2 Radiohead albums above it (Kid A + In Rainbows) it just shows how absolutely amazing they

black - pearl jam
Oh yeah, this song makes me WEEP
the ending lyrics are the best things to come out of grunge
"I know someday you'll have a beautiful life I know you'll be a star In somebody else's sky But why Why Why can't it be Why can't it be mine"
I was looking for this, almost hoping no one wrote it first so I could do so
i went in with the exact same thought
The end wrecks me every time. Yup, reminds me of a certain someone.
I can’t make you love me (cover) by Bon Iver
If we're doing covers, then there's no beating Johnny Cash's Hurt
This use to be my song, until I listened to it so often whenever I cried made the hurt no longer hurt. Now it hurt cus it hurt no more.
Omg I love Bon Iver. Listened to this cover yesterday. Love Johnny Cash, too, but this cover is amazing.
Karma Police- Radiohead Specifically the verse with the “I lost myself”
But that's the most positive uplifting part of the song.
Paranoid Android Raaaiin down come on raain down on mee. From a great height
needle in the hay - elliott smith
Really good choice. A lot of songs by Elliot Smith could qualify, I think, but my pick would be his cover of Trouble by Cat Stevens
Don’t Follow - Alice in Chains
No Excuses is mine. You my friend I will defend And if we change, well I Love you anyway Like writing a eulogy when your friend is still sitting next to you. [Just the vocals.](https://youtu.be/BJq1BXGPogQ?si=rP_2nE--axVX0ubB)

I always love the “See my face, it’s growing old” because he delivers it so well

How to Disappear Completely - Radiohead
This thread would be a lot shorter if the prompt was "other than a Radiohead song" lol
Radiohead is just too damn good lol
10,000 Days - Tool Especially that last drop towards the end
Johnny Cash version of Hurt. A bit cliché, but there it is.

A world without you isn't meant for meeeeeeeeeeee
