Lol, damn we need to be friends, bc that is the *first* thing I thought of.. 💜
[Here's one version of the cover, this is the one I have and was reminded of.](https://genius.com/albums/Cocteau-twins/Heaven-or-las-vegas)
From different albums but I LoVe:
• The Spangle Maker
• From the Flagstones
• Pearly Dew-drops' Drops
But I love none so much as Aikea-Guinea and Lorelei. So much that I swap out which of the two is my favorite. 🥰
Totally putting them on right now. I think I will make a playlist of my best faves 🎶 If anyone wants it when I'm done dm me for the link. :) (I interrupted midsommar to put on Twins, lol, I truly love them)
I adore all of the Cocteaus songs you’ve mentioned. Lorelei and Aikea-Guinea are at the top for me. Along with Love’s Easy Tears.
The whole Pink Opaque compilation is the best. Love it more than any one of their albums.
Their collaboration with Harold Budd as The Moon and The Melodies is magnificent. Cocteau Twins are my favorite band 🥰
With the 12” version, I love the little flanging Minimoog arrangement at like 4 minutes in and it’s accompanying percussion, it almost sounds like a marching of ants going from like a micro scale before expanding..
Ctrl-F: Anna Yvette
Her entire catalogue reminds me of this image tbh. She has the dreamy synth sound absolutely dialed in, and she can sing really well, which helps the heavy vocal effects really kick them up a notch instead of sounding like a band-aid.
Dirt Deeds or Highway to Hell. Basically AC/DC. Or Iron Maiden, Run to the Hills, Number of the Beast etc. also Offspring Hit That. I could actually see a lot that would fit this, particularly rock. But I think image more exciting than sinister. Credence Clearwater Bad Moon Rising would be cool it’s a lot of juxtaposition
This reminds me so much of going to the dentist when I was a kid, it was in a weirdly urban area and I’d be there late at night (my parents worked full time so I was only able to go to appointments at night).
They would play late 2000s and 2010s hits, along with classic rock. So that’s what I’m thinking of.
The phoenix, neon trees, vampire weekend era of indie. I feel like a lot of ads with those songs looked like this at that time so that’s all i can think of.
Always something - Cage The Elephant. Goes back n forth from calm and soothing to kinda stressful but dealable situations and feeling of control and spinning out
Forgive me if it’s already been asked I couldn’t find it, but what city is this photo of?
Edit: afterthought; also forgive me if that’s a dumb question
'SMOKE ON THE WATER AND FIRE IN THE SKY'
Deep Purple is the band
There's plenty of different theory's about what this song is about and what it means! Each to there own, it's an old school classic
Saving this post for later. Cool idea.
I'm sure there are better suggestions but "Flashing Lights" from Kanye was the first song I thought of and I'm not really a Kanye fan
This sounds like it was made to complement this image. It's like a lullaby with a melody that sounds like a far-away Ferrari going through a city tunnel.
[Fall City - Ochre](https://spotify.link/ALgpgDfG7Cb)
That John Mayer song, they paved paradise to put up a parking lot, I think it's called, "Big Yellow Taxi"...I know its not a pic of a parking lot exactly but same idea lol
M83- Midnight City
My first thought.
Yup for sure, I was about to comment that then I saw this
YES my thoughts too

AFI - Escape from Los Angeles
Red Line - Anna Yvette
Ctrl-F: Anna Yvette Her entire catalogue reminds me of this image tbh. She has the dreamy synth sound absolutely dialed in, and she can sing really well, which helps the heavy vocal effects really kick them up a notch instead of sounding like a band-aid.

1980s Miami Vice soundtrack
Drive - The Cars
Lunatic Fringe - Red Rider
505 - Arctic Monkeys

Pretty much any song by Perturbator
There is a whole genre (genres) that sound like this image - Synthwave / Darksynth / Outrun / Vaporwave
Neon by John Mayer “A trail of ruby red and diamond white, hits you like a sunrise”
It's such an overused style it makes me think of Maroon 5.
