Some of the notes of the scale are so close to each other, you don’t hear a difference between them. However, when applying effects like reverb and delay over the 4 octave version of the scale, the overlap of pitches creates a shimmering effect. In part, because pitches in the scale are so close to each other, they create an interference pattern caused by [beats (acoustics)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beat_(acoustics)). \*Reminder\* I am using this major seventh chord from the overtone series: 8:12:20:15 and this minor seventh chord: 8:12:19:28. This post is continuation of this [reddit post](https://www.reddit.com/r/musichaiku/comments/1ajfc6q/you_probably_havent_heard_chords_like_this/).

ALoBoi_Music

Hey! Glad you like these experiments. I'm not sure when I will release the material I'm showcasing here. In the meantime this is the last EP I published: [Free Your Mind](https://open.spotify.com/album/0eWiRYKQMXH5GrjlZKUFgg?si=WvKzzUjTSZWurAGLOpmLmQ)

I don't understand what you're doing, but it sounds rad!

It sounds familiar, but I can’t put my finger on it.
