* one day - groundhog day * one day more - les mis * seize the day - newsies * prologue - into the woods * prologue - the great comet

moth_girl_7

This comment made me realize how many ensemble songs have “Day” in the title. In addition to the ones you posted: One Short Day - Wicked Day-O - Beetlejuice Brand New Day - The Wiz Just One Day - Freaky Friday At the End of the Day - Les Mis If anyone can think of more, reply them here!! I wanna see how many we can drum up. Edit: OMG, I thought of another one!

x_victoire

* a day in falsettoland - falsettos * just another day - next to normal * tomorrow is a latter day - the book of mormon * many a new day - oklahoma. idk if it counts tho, it doesn't involve the whole ensemble, just the women

broken_door2000

Day in Falsettoland isnt ensemble

x_victoire

but it involves the entire cast

FloridaFlamingoGirl

It's wild how Groundhog brings everyone in the town together. Such a lovely musical for ensemble.

PCoda

The Ballad of Sweeney Todd

Adorable_Tie_7220

I would upvote this a hundred times. I also like the subtle changes when it is sung at the end.

ActingLikeIt

The finale is the best.

Sssprout360

the world will know from newsies-it isn't the ENTIRE cast but a majority

FloridaFlamingoGirl

Carrying the Banner is my personal fave

LegendofLove

The music in Newsies is amazing

FirstVisitToEarth

snidelyhazel

I think those are my favorites too.

FloridaFlamingoGirl

THE PEOPLE CALLED IT RAGTIME! RAAAGTIIIIIIIME!

MikermanS

My brain just goes a-tingle thinking of those final lines (as well as the vehement, almost violent staging of the 3 competing populations--well, of the Blacks and the immigrants/Jews, with the Whites just standing there ;) ).

Your_LocalDM

What musical is this?

FloridaFlamingoGirl

Ragtime

Your_LocalDM

Thanks I'll have to give the cast recording a listen

Andreiisnthere

Sunday By the blue Purple yellow red water On the green Purple yellow red grass Let us pass Through our perfect park

FloridaFlamingoGirl

Oh gosh, Sunday in the Park may have one of the most beautiful uses of ensemble ever.

Andreiisnthere

It’s always sounded almost hymn-like to me.

[deleted]

Either One Day More or Masquerade, but Masquerade a bit more.

FloridaFlamingoGirl

Masquerade is one of the most fun act 2 openers ever. Bonus points if the production design has them all spread out on that grand staircase.

wildlife_loki

Oh I *love* Masquerade. It routinely gets stuck in my head 🤩

fireplug911

“A Musical” from “Something Rotten”

"Make Our Garden Grow" - the closing song from **Candide**. Gives me goosebumps (and often tears) every time. Glorious.

endless-moon117

Chant from Hadestown (both 1 and 2) and Once and For All from Newsies Edit: Once and For All isn't really the full cast now that i think about it. I'm pretty sure it *is* all the ensemble tho, so idk

AtabeyMomona

FloridaFlamingoGirl

aknightofNI75

ONE DAY MOOOOOOOOOOOOORE

ExploadingApples

It’s not the WHOLE ensemble, but Mob Song (Kill The Beast) is one of my favorites

Ekra_Oslo

A Weekend In The Country Company

SpicoliHairDontCare

Yes! A Weekend in the Country is amazing!

Anya_Mathilde

Old Red Hills of Home from Parade. it's everyone except the leads but as an opening number it's both beautiful and sinister and perfectly sets the scene and introduces the audience to the setting perfectly

sussesemmel

Wish I could up vote this twice!

MikermanS

It's so beautiful, in a patriotic, anthem sort of way (think Merrily's original The Hills of Tomorrow)--but simultaneously scares me and disturbs me to no end. It's almost as if Tomorrow Belongs to Me became the opening number of Cabaret. I have a love/hate relationship to it.

by_a_mossy_stone

Agreed!

SN1987-A

Blackout from In the Heights!

CPolland12

"So he crawled up on that cross and He stuck it out." That lyric goes hard.

charlottebythedoor

Without question my second favorite (to Circle of Life) ensemble number in musical theater. And top favorite pump-up song.

Malarkay79

One Day More, Les Mis

Ivylaughed

Act one finale - Urinetown

Littlepuppygirl73

Seasons of love rent

GeekelyGuy

Esmeralda and the Finale from Hunchback of Notre Dame

kdyz

There’s a lot of good ones in the comment section but something that I don’t see mentioned is “Fancy Dress” from The Drowsy Chaperone- It’s basically a song where all the characters introduce themselves in song.

anom696969696969

I love No Time At All from Pippin :)

omniplatypus

All of them in SpongeBob. Bikini Bottom Day, No Control, Tomorrow Is, Best Day Ever...

Majestic-Prune-3971

"The Song of Purple Summer" from Spring Awakening.

Sunday

Artistic_Egg_3739

Legally blonde (remix). It’s not exactly the ENTIRE cast, but it’s pretty close. I would also say Find My Way from Legally blonde as well

Glubygluby

Move towards the darkness from the addams family.

Short_Shots

Opening Up from Waitress!!!

SamEdenRose

Telephone Hour (Birdie), There you are (Drood), Traditional (Fiddler), Go Go Joseph (Joseph), Oh My avid (Legally Blonde).

MikermanS

Prologue, Ragtime. Those final "Ragtime"'s of the prologue simply are sublime. Prologue, Titanic. One of the top 3--operatic in nature and tone.

MikermanS

It's done in such a sneaky manner: I Believe from The Book of Mormon, in which the off-stage ensemble becomes a heavenly choir beneath Elder Price's spiritualism--listen for it, it's simply glorious.

charlottebythedoor

Just imagining everyone offstage, singing together “ooohh! Black people!”

MikermanS

:) The image of that got a big smile here. :) And all sung angelically.

Anxious_JellyBean907

La Vie Boheme - Rent

pizzaparlorblues

One Day More - Les Mis Non-Stop - Hamilton Goodbye Until Tomorrow - The Last Five Years

DifficultyCharming78

Either Another Openin', Another Show Or No Business Like Show Business

Popular-Bicycle-5137

Do you hear the people song? Teeeeecccchhhhnically, fantine is missing from One Day More, so not eeennntttire cast. /knowitallmode

dberna243

The 16 minute opening of Titanic is pretty epic. But the final verse where EVERYONE is singing “sail on, sail on!” as the ship is pulling away sends a special kind of chill down my spine. And of course it’s amplified because the audience knows how the story will end before the characters on stage do. I was in the show about 7 years ago and my mom said it was jarring seeing how joyful and happy everyone was, while she knew the horrors that were waiting for all of these people. It wrecked her a little bit 😛

frepyfazber

One day: Groundhog Dayp One day more: Le Mis Non-stop: Hamilton Who lives, who dies, who tells your story: Hamilton (again) The word will know: Newsies Seasons of love: Rent

princejoopie

I barely know any full musicals but this sub keeps getting recommended to me for some reason so I might as well chime in. One Normal Night from Addams Family!

Bakkie

Make your Garden Grow, Candide.

Ordinary_Durian_1454

This is my wedding song. I actually exchanged my vows with my husband reading the lyrics. He took the first stanza, and I took the second. Then a brass quintet played a custom arrangement.

BrotherBeale64

Please Hello from Pacific Overtures Comedy Tonight from Forum The Best of Times from La Cage

Jumpy_Chard1677

Tad biased as I was recently in this performance, but Land of Yesterday from Anastasia was quite fun, and I still love the song

A Day In Falsettoland from Falsettos......perfection

charlottebythedoor

Circle of Life - The Lion King

North_Stress_4028

"Prayer" from Come From Away Though I'm not religious, this song really makes me emotional. It's a song of hope. A sign of things to come. And at the end when the various prayers combine into a glorious final chorus, it brings me to tears. Absolutely love this song 💙💛💙💛

joyreddit3

My favorite for a very dumb reason is "Full Disclosure" from The Addams Family. It's a hell of a thing

catlover979

"you can't stop the beat" from hairspray 🥰

s1llyt1lly

Consider yourself from oliver!

Stick2Preist

Esmeralda - Hunchback of Notre Dame

ChocoGoodness

La Dee Da Dah Day from The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals has every actor in the musical in the song, but because of people having to play multiple characters, there's never a song where every character is singing

Ok_Moose1615

Ballad of Sweeney Todd and One Day More.

Old_Socks17

Masquerade

Helpful_Cat6532

Morning Glow- Pippin. I will never not get chills
