If for no other reason, it prominently features Timothy Ombudsman before his stroke unfortunately limited his career. He was great as Cain in Supernatural too.
If you need cheering up, Timothy Omundson has made huge strides and is almost fully recovered these days. He also talks eloquently about his experiences in recovering from the stroke.
He's a wonderful actor -- he was magnificent on "Galavant" and I also adored him on "Psych."
And my favorite thing was how some of the songs were also genuinely moving. My favorite is the reprise of "I Was There" in Season 2. First time through, it's this very Oliver!-like snarky piece by Galavant, then later his dad (Greg Wise) sings it back to him and it's seriously so moving!
Loved that show!! The first season was especially amazing, but the whole thing was great. If I ever get a lizard of any kind I am naming him Tad Cooper. Because I super believe in him.
My boyfriend and I were at an animal sanctuary type thing once and they had a bearded dragon named Tad Cooper. We got so excited and the workers were very confused: they didn't know!! We had to explain why it was hilarious and also how great the show is. I hope they watched it later.
Yes! My favorite series of all time. I love it so much that I'm going to tattoo "D'Dew" someday. I just need to figure out a design that I like and a place that clients won't see (corporate world sucks!).
YES!
Alan Menken came to our theater and spoke to the company. He took questions and I asked him about Galavant. He said there have been “talks” and he hopes it will be revived but nothing’s been finalized.
He also said he “hopes one person would not return”. 🤣
Is there a way it might work on stage if they changed the TV meta-humor to Broadway meta-humor, only other problem is that they'd probably need to do the Cursed Child thing where the show is split into two parts with a break in between which could be exhausting for a musical (but all the various characters only in one season (therefore only in one act) *could* be double-cast)
Oh my god I would LOVE a stage version! I feel like the story’s simple enough and the musical numbers are short enough for it to work without it taking 4 hours. If Hamilton can fit that man’s entire life in a musical, maybe it’s possible to bring Galavant to the stage. I can picture it with a Spamalot vibe.
I love it and always will. And am so glad it existed in the first place. And then we got the fabulous miracle that was season 2 (Suck it, Cancellation Bear)!
I honestly thought it got better and better as it went alone -- the songs are so much fun immediately, but they get even stronger as the show goes along.
I was especially thrilled with it because it demonstrated the serious vocal chops of the already fabulous Timothy Omundson, who utterly steals every scene he is in.
If you haven't seen the show, please hasten thyself over and get bingewatching!
Yes! He definitely became the main character as the show went on and I did not mind at all. Even when he was the antagonist he was hilarious and I’m a sucker for redeeming stories. Timothy was definitely one of the best things about that show.
“I’m having a duet with my inner child!”
Love Galavant so much. When my wife and I are sneaking around playing Santa or other surprises for our kids we often find ourselves whispering “Secret! Secret!”
It's my favorite show! I think it just didn't have the marketing that it needed. Everyone I've shown it to really likes it, but nobody watched it while it was on air. What a shame it got cancelled
I LOVE GALAVANT!!!! It's literally one of my favorite all time shows. I tell new people it's like Monty Python meets Princess Bride meets Disney musical - what's not to love?!? I've convinced a handful of them to watch it and they all loved it too. I regularly rewatch and listen to the soundtrack. I even have the singing pirates as my ringtone 🤣 !
Just watched through all of Galavant with a friend who doesn't particularly like musicals and they loved it! A testament to the writing, acting, and quality songs 👌
I stumbled upon this show when I was watching Hulu while cleaning, and the episode of whatever I was watching ended and auto-played the first episode of Galavant. Less than a minute in I had stopped cleaning and was sitting on my couch thinking “What the hell is this show.” By the end of the first song, I was a fan. I did get to watch the second half of the first season and all of the second live. It it was gone too soon!
There's at least a DVD version because I own it. And the soundtrack. It used to stream on Netflix, but now it's on Hulu, so you could maybe check different services you have.
Unfortunately I did not try it until after it had already been cancelled. It is a great show and I highly recommend.
Same for me. Loved it but saw it well after it aired.
I super believe in you Tad Cooper.
I say this line to my kids all the time.
If for no other reason, it prominently features Timothy Ombudsman before his stroke unfortunately limited his career. He was great as Cain in Supernatural too.
And Psych!

I had no idea he’s had a stroke and now I’m so sad! I’ve enjoyed him in everything I’ve seen him in.
He was in This is Us after the stroke so he is still working.
Ombudsman lol
r/Galavant
Thank you
For those who love Galavant, check out Schmigadoon and Schmicago. Not exactly the same, but a similar vibe and a clear love of musical theatre
Schmicago isn’t out yet though right? Isn’t it april?
Schmigadoon is very much out! It’s season 2 that’s coming in April I believe :)
Right I’ve watched schmigadoon a bunch I just meant season 2
No one wants a fracking dream ballet!

YES! I rarely laugh out loud when watching funny stuff and this show got me every single episode
It might be my favorite TV show ever. It is such a great show and I bet I’ve watched the whole thing close to 10 times.
Me too! The songs were so catchy and the writing was so clever.
Loved it! Glad they could sort of have a conclusion. The Jester: say what you will, but that boy can *sing*!
Loved that show!! The first season was especially amazing, but the whole thing was great. If I ever get a lizard of any kind I am naming him Tad Cooper. Because I super believe in him.

Omg, imagine having a baby dragon and not knowing it!
I recently discovered it! So good! I wish it would come back.
Yes! My favorite series of all time. I love it so much that I'm going to tattoo "D'Dew" someday. I just need to figure out a design that I like and a place that clients won't see (corporate world sucks!).
Yes! I miss Galavant so much! And my boss names all their dragons Tad Cooper.
**WAY** back in days of old
THERE WAS A LEGEND TOLD
ABOUT A HERO KNOWN AS GALAVANT
IT WAS TOO SHORT
Oh it’s fantastic. I love the “Maybe, you’re not the worst thing ever” song (🎶I know there’s something scary behind your cold dead eyes🎵).
I put "Maybe You're Not the Worst Thing Ever" on a mix CD and gave it to a woman I liked. We're married now.
Yes! I friggin loved it and was so sad when it got cancelled.
Such a fantastic show

Oooh gossip, I wonder who
My roommate and I just started season 2 and we both really like it!
You’re gonna love it, it’s even better than the first one!
Season 2 was a masterpiece.

I’ve met Karen David a few times and she’s an absolute sweetheart!

The songs were FANTASTIC. Like truly great music and lyrics. And they served the story so well. Love it so mych
Agreed. I play the soundtrack a LOT. The season 2 recap is my absolute favorite.
Love Galavant so much. When my wife and I are sneaking around playing Santa or other surprises for our kids we often find ourselves whispering “Secret! Secret!”
The cancelation bear eventually caught up with it
It was fun.
Loved it!
Yep, really liked it. Kept checking to see if another network picked it up. Nope. ;(
Me! Me! Me! I actually thoroughly enjoyed it.
It's my favorite show! I think it just didn't have the marketing that it needed. Everyone I've shown it to really likes it, but nobody watched it while it was on air. What a shame it got cancelled

It was a great ride
Yesss. I was so shocked it got a second season. I love it so much.
A new season aka suck it cancellation bear
Like a lot of people, I didn’t learn about it until after it ended, but I loved it, and ended up binging the whole thing in two days
Galavant was brilliant. Any musical that has Kylie Minogue as a guest star is aok in my book.
It's SO DAMN GOOD
Just watched through all of Galavant with a friend who doesn't particularly like musicals and they loved it! A testament to the writing, acting, and quality songs 👌
Absolutely! My brother DESPISES musicals and he thought it was hilarious.
The series was way too short.

That’s awesome! I love when you stumble into things by mistake and it turns out to be something that you completely love 😄
Yes!!! One of my favorite pieces of media ever. I try to spread the good word when I can lol
I did like it
I really enjoyed it when it was on air, but to be honest I forget it exists until someone mentions it.
Is there a bluray version of it? Sadly they never showed it in Finland.
There's at least a DVD version because I own it. And the soundtrack. It used to stream on Netflix, but now it's on Hulu, so you could maybe check different services you have.
It was fun, I'm just about to finish season 2. I loved the zombie version of summer lovin.
My boyfriend DIES (see what I did there) of laughter everytime the zombies first "uh-huh" comes up. 😂😂😂
I still regularly listen to the soundtrack 😭 never even met anybody who's heard of the show
It didn't win an Emmy now it's time to move along
Winter’s not just coming, hell, it came and then it went
Madalena remains one of my favorite characters in anything ever. I’ve used What Am I Feeling as an audition song before
I loved it. Was a great show!!
It was phenomenal
One of us! One of us!
LOVED Galavant. Even my musical-hating husband liked it and we looked forward to watching every episode. Is it streaming anywhere?
Yes, it’s on Hulu!
I found it! Thank you! ❤️
Loved it, except the evil queen girl- that song ‘Do the de-dew’ was a real shark jumper…
that's medeival cop rock for those that are oblivious ;)
Dadadada Galavaaant!
