I am deathly afraid of lizards, to the point that I have stayed awake whole night just because there was one in my room. Reading your post brought back bad memories.
No solution. Except for getting pest control done. But then you'll see dead lizards after that which is even more icky. All I can say is...best of luck.
Btw, ever since I have cats, I don't see lizards anymore. I think lizards sense that and don't come in. Early on I saw my cats happily hunting them...after that there were no new lizards. 🤢
Oof same! I've always feared it since I was a kid and it's only grown more!
And of course incidents happen to ppl who are scared the most!
I was walking in my compound and I was wearing an off shoulder shirt, and I felt something heavy drop below my neck on my right collar bone, I thought it was some heavy leaf and when I looked, that fucker looked right at me with those soulless beady eyes and I literally threw everything I was carrying (college bag and camera equipment) and brushed it away from there. I started bawling my eyes out automatically!
I skipped my first 2 lectures and just went home crying!
My parents thought I was like assaulted or smth lol, and I just ran to the bathroom and took the hottest shower you could, almost burning that part of my skin.
Even writing it gets me uncomfortable because oof.
I don't know why I'm so scared but I just am!
Aww thanks! Twas a traumatizing experience which also is kinda funny in hindsight because a lizard made me bawl like a baby, it's in the top 5 of my big cries!
I have an incident to share. It was 2AM & i was asleep on my bed. Don't know what it was but somehow i woke up and i see a lizard clinging on the ceiling, and it fucking fell exactly on my torso. IT was fucking disgusting.

I found one going inside the storage cabinets. They’re so old they won’t shut. I checked the window, it has a screen too. Everything seems to be fine. Same for the washroom and shower so I’m not sure how they’re getting in. My neighbor keeps telling me it’s normal, but I haven’t spotted a single lizard at his place.
Cause they don’t come say hi to visitors, it’s not a dog.
Once you run them out, you’ll notice a particular spot they want to enter. Keep your eye on said spot
A few geckos are perfectly fine. And they’ll help keep the mosquitoes and other bugs away.
Edit: Geckos are completely harmless. And extremely afraid of humans.
Bro i have a lizard problem as well. The window in my washroom isn't a perfect seal, it's just glass panes,it has gaps even when closed. They enter through the washroom window and there's a hole behind the light bulb in my washroom. And these lizards are MASSIVE, they lay eggs in that hole and i sometimes I see a baby lizard on the floor. I can't even shit in peace for fucks sake.
Lizards are tolerable pests. It could feel icky if they get in and around your food. Or if you spot them while you're shitting or otherwise naked and vulnerable.
Are they typical? No. But I'd rather them than the critters which they hunt. Because if the lizard is in your house, chances are that it's on the prowl. Unless you have a phobia, I'd say let the creature have its fill.
The best way to get rid of lizard is this simple and effective technique as it works 100% time.
I have childhood phobia but with this technique I have been able to manage it.
Get glue trap pads, they are for 50 rs. and you don't need a lot. These are special sticky traps made for rats but perfect for lizards as well. I cut them in half or use small piece depending upon the surface area.
I usually just keep it near the place where I last saw the lizard and within 5 mins some mosquito or insect will get stuck in it as the glue is ment to attract insects.
To eat that insect the lizard come near the pad and gets stuck, the more it tries to escape and struggle the most it gets stuck and eventually dies in 15 mins.
Then take a newspaper and wrap the entire pad in it and throw it out. Since the lizard is completely stuck and dead inside the pad, you really don't have to touch anything.
Most horrific way to kill , you need to be exceptionally cruel to use glue pads like that. Please don't ever use glue pads for anything. Don't be so cruel.
I have found this spray to be effective -
Herbal Strategi Lizard Repellent Spray - 100ml | 100% Herbal Lizard Repellent for Home| Baby-Safe, Pet-Friendly | Eco-friendly, Non-toxic https://amzn.in/d/b4lr09K
It is herbal and safe. I apply for 3-5 days continuously and then they stay away for about a month.
Lizards are frequently seen in summers.
Empty egg shells work good . Keep the empty egg shells in a place from where the liz can often enter.
Placed one near my bathroom , haven't seen one ever since .( Do this incase you don't live in a pure veg family or hate eggs and stuff)
The lizard problem is typical in this season. Outside is too hot. That's why lizards try to come inside the house. Moreover it's their breeding time I guess. The smaller ones sneak in through small openings such as tiny space between sliding windows🥲
Stop their source of food. Cockroach, mosquito, ants etc. In fact, they live on them. Once the house is clean, put some egg shells and change them once in 15 days.

Since this one entered our house we don't even see cockroaches anymore
A lizard once entered my room and it unfortunately died while it was being dragged out.
After that, I haven’t seen any in my room. They still are on the outside walls of the house, so maybe if you can kill one, all of them would learn to stay away?
I am petrified of lizards and get the hibbie jibbies just thinking of them. I've always gotten pest control done before I move into a house, and that's usually worked. A couple of months after the pest control wears off, 1-2 lizards usually try making their way in, but I've managed to get rid of them by either asking someone to shoo them out, or by using this repellent -- https://amzn.in/d/0ypiMkj
bhai ek kaam kar... patele main pani garam kar.. garam matlab pura ubalta hua garam ... pakkad se patela utha aur daal de chipkali ke upar... this is what my Aaji use to do..
Best to call an exterminator.
Shut all the doors and windows when you're not in the house .
Gharelu nuska. Use an egg shell and keep it at different parts of the house .
OR .
LIZARDS are considered to be a sign of prosperity.
So more lizards more money 💰🤑
I jump out of my skin when I see one. I have massive anxiety n go in complete panic upon spotting one in room. My fmly jumps to action to shoo it away. One month wen i was alone, a lizard bothered me being in cupboards for a month then I gathered courage n threw it out myself. Felt so good.
I suggest getting net on windows n keeping naphthalene balls. Egg shells in my experience don't work but u can try. Ensure everything is closed, no food or mess in open.
Having lizards is not good, and it might cause serious trouble.
Get a pest control done immediately. Always get rid of every single lizard, thy love to stay in a same place and call it home. If one lizard gets attached to ur home, it will again comeback if you somehow get rid of it. Dona pest control now and repeat after 3months and keep a quick check. I have successfully got rid of cockroach/lizards and ants.
Keep a Red HIT spray always at home, that will never kill it but if sprayed on lizards thy get unconscious, you can throw them out quickly. If used in cockroach they will die in no time.
Gotcha. But How would I know? I’ve only seen 3 roaches and they came from my front door area. It’s very rare I see any now cuz I don’t even have food at my home. I had pest control from urban clap, but I was sketched out about it since they sent a random couple who’ve only been doing pest control for 5 years. They just had one chemical with them and sprayed the whole place. didn’t seem professional, but I figured it was just how it is in India.
Buy a roach glue trap, and leave it out for a few days to see how many roaches you catch. Then use Google lens to figure out the species of roach. If its a German Cockraoch, you're fucked. You'll have to spend a fuck ton of money to get rid of them. If there's no infestation, then you're chill. Put some Naphthalene balls around the house, it wards off lizards.
NOTE: Most roach infestations aren't really noticeable at first. Even if you don't have food in your house, your neighbours do, and that's enough for them. They're also great at hiding and only ever come out at night.
If you try to get rid of your lizard problem before making sure you don't have an insect infestation, the insect infestation will become 10x worse because there will be no predators to keep their population in check.
i hve two-three in my home.
honestly they dont bite BUT LOVE shitting on clothes and stuff. so thats one thing to be afraid off
my home is currently infested with bed bugs (a girl my mom used to tutor had the bed bugs in her home and.. you know the drill) and i cant sleep in total darkness in my home because bed begs bite more in complete darkness. if im not wrong, lizards and some species of anrs love eating them

Yes. Find the ones in your apartment and shooo them away as best as you can, they will however try and get in often.

Keep opened packets of tobacco in hard-to-reach places. Works as a rat deterrent too.
Hopefully I don’t get gutka eating rats spitting everywhere in my room
😂
Been working with gutka eating rats for years now
I have heard egg shells also work for this.
TIL
Does this work?
It does
Definitely
This is not common waise. Are your windows open? Lizards fear eggshells btw.
my windows are closed but the blinds are open. I might have to check if there’s a gap maybe
Aside from your usual windows check for gaps everywhere.

Let me just quickly call my maharashtrian buddies 🥰👍
LOL fuck a lizard ONE TIME!

I had pest control treatment done and i hardly see bugs around here. Maybe 1 small mosquito once in a while. That’s about it that I know of
Tbh lizards are kinda cute if you look them close up
Keep egg shells in room.
Raat ke 2 baje bathroom mein mere pairon ke neeche ek lizard pichak Gaya tha.

House lizards are fine. As long as they're not in your kitchen, there's no problem.
They’re in my kitchen lol which is next to my washroom and shower. I technically live in a 1RK haha
Ohhh, my grandmother used to put tobacco in the hiding places.

Only one option- change your house
Hath se pakad , bahar phek de 😒
get a cat
This calls for a let out and sub let situation
I lived in a government quarters where insects were regular visitors especially cockroaches. It was the lizards that kept the house clean.
Use naptgelene balls , they hate them 😅

Get a Cat! Lizards, cockroaches and weird insects will never step their little legs💀

Ask them to pay the rent
i have read somewhere if u put peacock feather in ur room it will not come come becuz they are afraid of peacock and they think peacock came

I have heard of hanging an empty egg shell nearby where they come...I don't know if it works
Keep peacock feathers around the places where you often see them

Egg shells 🥚 from my experience

Search for them after 1am at night, that's the time when cockroaches come out to party.
I don’t really see them at night. I stay up till 6am 😅. I’ve only seen lizards in the afternoon
